At SHOT Show this year KelTec launched a handy, lightweight version of its KSG shotgun chambered in .410 bore. Scaled down from the 12 gauge KSG, the KSG410 is very nimble and looks like it would be a blast to shoot.
KelTec said they fired thousands upon thousands of rounds through each tester gun and they’re extremely pleased with how reliably and smoothly the KSG410 runs.
It’ll chamber up to 3-inch shells of the soft-shooting .410 bore flavor.
It’s available in multiple colors right out of the gate. Carry handle rails, full-length Picatinny rails, and other top rail options are available.
The KSG410 is such a short, compact, lightweight shotgun that it’s hard to imagine it’s sporting 18-inch barrels in there. That bullpup design is pretty slick.
MSRP is only $495 and it’ll start shipping in Q3 of this year.
Over to the really fun-to-shoot, .22 LR P17 pistol, this year it’s sporting a new top strap with KELTEC logo cut clean through it.
Yep, the Crimson Trace optic is included as well!
If you haven’t yet shot a P17 I’d definitely recommend you try and do so. It’s a super fun plinker with a 17-round capacity and a great trigger.
The P17 is lightweight, simple, and affordable, too.
MSRP on the standard P17 is $199. I’m not yet sure what MSRP on this optics-included version is.

Why does the P17 have to be ugly? If I made a pistol in my garage out of used up appliance parts, it’d probably look like a P17.
.410 seems to be making a resurgence of sorts.
I see the p17 comes preinstalled with a drag it cable. I like that👍
410 would be okay if the price of its emu was the same as a 12 gaige.
I suppose it’s all that extra powder and shot that make .410 so much more xpensive.
I like a 410 for plinking although it’s ridiculously expensive. As far as self defense, its not my third choice. A 410 then a bunch of rocks next. I think the ammo companies want to make it popular so they can sell more of the overpriced ammo for it.
Well hopefully with ever one using it the price will go down.
As an aside the Winchester PDX is not so good, I would recommend buckshot over it.
Absolutely! the PDX looks good on paper but the accuracy is not great even compared to buckshot!
The .410 KSG ought to be pretty cool with some of the nasty shot shells available for the Judge.
Good thing it’s not expensive. That way you don’t waste too much money.
kelTec you need to do better. It took me 4 years to get my SU16c. Which I love. Now how long before this 410 will REALLY be available to the public.

I haven’t seen 410 on the shelf in 3 years or more. We are actively hunting it for my grandson.
It’s like there’s a disconnect with gun and ammunition manufacturing and real life. They make new calibers when they can’t fill orders for old ones. They build guns you can’t shoot or obtain even.
The disconnect is as bad as between politicians and The People
What happens when someone stuffs some .460 S&W Magnum in it? At 2.3″ OAL, it will fit… right up until it goes kaboom.

Ahhh KelTec…love ’em or hate ’em, they make some innovative designs and for being an American company I keep buying their products. But I wish they’d get their production run to match their customer demand. Were they waiting for enough favorable Shot Show 23 reviews of the KSG410 to go “full production” rate? The few KSG410 out there now are going for $250-$300 OVER the $495 MSRP! I’ll buy one of these but NOT before they come down to a reasonable price under the MSRP, and that won’t be until KetTec production inventory gets to market and retailers get competitive with each other. And if the KSG410 stays well over MSRP, then there is always the Mossberg Shockwave 410 or .20ga! Get cracking KelTec!!
Finally! I have waited a year and I have my hands on the Baby KSG! Being a woman with a bad shoulder already, I could not imagine the recoil of the 12g, but loved how the KSG “just fit me.”
Yes, the ammo is pricey, but I have been able to find plenty at Buds and even Turners online and an FFL who doesn’t charge for transfer of ammo. (california bs)
Anyhow, any advice you want to give this little ol’ lady newbie is welcome. I can’t wait to play at the range!!
