“A group of students at a Central Florida high school walked out of class Friday as part of a protest in support of the Second Amendment. Some of the students who participated in the walkout at Rockledge High School told WFTV that when the movement to honor the victims and survivors of the shooting in Parkland became political, they felt silenced.” Huh? How is this possible.

We’ve been reliably told by David Hogg and CNN that the Parkland shooting sparked a new, ineluctable push by the Tide Pod generation for restrictions on Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

“I’m pro-Second Amendment,” Rockledge junior and protest organizer Anna Delaney told the station. “I wouldn’t mind deeper background checks, of course, but the Second Amendment will not be infringed upon.”

About 75 yoots walked out of class to support Americans’ right to keep and bear arms.

Zachary Schneider, a junior, was quoted by the paper as saying, “It’s all over the news right now that all students hate guns. I wanted to show that not all students feel that way.”

Rockledge principal Vickie Hickey said the school treated the Second Amendment walkout exactly like it treated the walkout that took place two weeks ago, the paper reported.

She said both events were completely student-driven.

Somehow, we haven’t seen nearly as much coverage of this budding student movement as we have of those calling for assault weapons bans and repeal of the Second Amendment. What that is remains a mystery.

  1. That’s because the pro-gun students do not receive literally millions of dollars in support, buses, and organizational assistance from the astroturf anti-gun lobbyists and Hollywood celebrities, nor all the free publicity provided by the MSM..

    • What happens in NY doesn’t much matter in the broad scheme until the state gets slapped down by a federal court.

      It’s behind enemy lines. As such it’s like saying “We’ve lost Paris!” in 1942.

    • Typical soros hyperbole. fed law requires convicted domestic abusers to give up their guns. Means sweet fuck all in the greater scheme of things.

      • “Criminal contempt” is now classed as a misdemeanor that gets you disenfranchised, however. That’s a charge you get for telling the judge ge’s an idiot when he says “I’m convinced these are ammunituon” when presented with muzzle loading sabots & the law says it only applies to fixed ammo.

  4. ALL student should stay in the classroom and learn something and saving the protesting to non school hours.

    Frankly, I don’t really care much about teens views on gun policy. There are a small percentage who have a clue but most like hogg, kasky and the other gun controllers on cnn every 5 minutes, are typical student, obnoxious teens.

  5. If only there was a way to enforce neutral and balanced reporting/journalism in the “news” media as opposed to the garbage that is allowed to exist today.

    Journalistic integrity (which used to be a thing) has died now that all opinions = facts and when expertise is no longer a job requirement.

    “News” isn’t an accurate term for what the media does anymore. It’s all feeding instant reactions, ratings, and entertainment.

    Then again, I don’t have cable nor watch “normal” tv because I grew out of consumerism (aka the matrix).

    • Such has NEVER existed. Going back beyond the time of Ben Franklin. Perhaps Guttenberg printed only direct translations with no editorial additions.

      • I’ve read the NYT for decades, and, since Bush II, they have gotten more and more biased.
        You can subscribe to their daily email; even in their purely “news” articles, you can clearly see their political bias just in their take-aways about the article.
        In my recollection, the NYT used to be fairly even in their reporting. Not anymore. Now they take every opportunity to bash Trump and anything and anyone who isn’t “progressive” enough for them (which includes a lot to the left of the centerline of the political spectrum).

  6. So, support these kids and the way the building handled this walkout.

    I taught school for 40 years and also believe that students should never walk out of classes or school, but since the teachers and staff in so many places supported the phony Bloomberg walkouts, this place did the right thing for everyone.

    And it’s obvious to me that the kids walking out this time probably had the real support of their parents. Since we don’t go on forever, I do care about what kids know/believe about firearms and the Constitution. If there are none coming up, there will be no rights.

  7. Now all we have to do is teach this young lady that NIUCS is in fact infringement and unconstitutional.

  8. Some kids are sure waking up to the deceit to disarm the populace and make them vulnerable to home invasions and being made sitting ducks so that crooks could take whatever they want unharmed. Disarm the populace and you will see incredible increase in homicide, armed robbery, rape, home invasions etc… Just look what happened in Australia or even worse, Brazil….
