If you asked me (and Im fully aware that you didn’t) there’s nothing wrong with a little Hunter on Hunter action. Note the caps. I’m talking about Holly Hunter and Rachel Hunter. In their prime. No matter what their age or physical condition, I’m not a fan of hunter on hunter action. Of course, it does happen. Cough * Cheney * Cough. Happened in New Hampshire, in fact. “A New Hampshire man is recovering from wounds suffered when he was hit by gunfire on the first day of his state’s spring turkey hunting season,” rutlandherald.com reports. “The New Hampshire Department of Fish & Game says 44-year-old Todd Murray of Claremont [not shown] was hit by a shot fired by another member of his hunting party Monday morning in Hanover . . .

Investigators say Murray is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

Of course, every time a hunter shoots another hunter, there are Lessons To Be Learned. Some of them are surprising. All of them are not.

Fish & Game Col. Martin Garabedian says the incident should serve as a reminder to hunters that they need to be 100 percent sure of their target before firing. The department issued a variety of turkey hunting suggestions: Among them, never presume that what you hear or what responds to your call is a turkey.

Forewarned and, I presume, forearmed.
