What’s the fastest growing business in California? We don’t know for sure, but if we had to guess, we’d say U-Haul franchises and moving companies. The latest gun industry firm to see the value of being located somewhere other than the formerly Golden State is American Technology Network.

Better known as ATN, the company makes digital optics like riflescopes and binoculars, as well as thermal imaging gear. ATN has been located in South San Francisco. The company’s new headquarters will be in Doral, Florida.

Will the last person to leave California please turn out the lights (in order to stay in compliance with the state’s strict climate change regulations, of course)?

Here’s ATN’s press release . . .

American Technology Network (ATN) Corp., a leader in the tech optic industry, is relocating from its facilities in California to a new Florida HQ. The move is necessitated by the rapid expansion and growth the company has seen since its founding in 1995. By leveraging innovation and expertise to create the best technology for its customers, ATN has been fortunate to expand. At this time, California is no longer a state in which this growth can continue.

The new Florida facility will be a larger, more technically advanced production facility, with a more streamlined warehouse and shipping area. Along with this new space will be an improved warranty center, allowing the company to serve customers better if an ATN product fails to perform in any way. All shipments and RMAs (return merchandise authorizations) should get routed to this new address.

“This move is a continuation of ATN’s mission to bring feature-rich products to market. Innovation is central to ATN, and this new step allows the company to deliver the highest quality of products to its customers in a more efficient manner.” Said Marc Vayn CMO at ATN

About ATN: American Technology Network is an industry leader, innovative producer of rifle scopes for the 21st century. Founded in 1995, ATN has come to be known for dependable, quality products that enhance their customer’s hunting experience and connect with the desires of hunting enthusiasts.

Scopes are user-friendly with Smart features, like allowing users to record video footage of their hunting experience. Top-selling models include the X-Sight 4K Pro series, ThOR 4 series, ThOR LT series, and the ABL series. To learn more about ATN and see the full details of ATN’s products, visit www.atncorp.com or call 1- 800-910-2862, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM PST. 1. Their soon to be old location was located in the busy warehouse part of So SF. I could never figuer out if they allowed walk in customers into the offices when I was stuck there for my current company.

    • It’s not uncommon for new companies to set up shop in the low-rent district to save some money…

      • Actually, it would be beneficial for ATN to leave California. I forgot that state has a really stupid night vision law that prohibited legal ownership of better nvgs.

        • Mark,

CA doesn’t allow us to mount night vision on guns. NVG must be handheld or otherwise separate from any weapon. Because scary.

    • A relative of mine tried to rent a U-Haul truck or trailer for his recent move from Kallifornication to Florida. Absolutely no one-way rentals available in the Peepuls Repubic.

  2. I was worried about all the Californians moving because they gotta go somewhere . I dont want them here really. Then it dawned on me, if they keep moving there won’t be anyone there except the farmers. Most farmers drive tractors, not near as speedy as an f150, ‘well when you can get it to run that is’, but anyway as luck would have it, and I never thought I’d say this, in about 30 years I’m moving to California.

    • In about 30 years I’m permanently moving off-planet… 😉

      • I’m still checking occasionally to see if the back of my wardrobe closet will let me walk thru it to Narnia, where I and my selected friends can start over.

    • Well, sadly, Let me burst that bubble.

Between the drought and Government over-regulation, the farmers and Ranchers are being driven out of business as fast as our imperious leaders in Sacramento can do it.

So no, the reality is that you should be be happy that the CA crew are coming to your state and bringing their politics with them. By and large, its the republicans leaving. The leftists are staying in CA. They like the Totalitarianism.

        • “Control the food supply” is only one of eight elements toward the Socialist takeover of a society. Fear not, Demorats have all eight in play.

Reminder of what Khrushchev said 60 years ago….”Your children’s children will live under communism. You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright; but, we will keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you will finally wake up and find you already have Communism. We will not have to fight you. We will so weaken your economy, until you will fall like overripe fruit into our hands. The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not” It was September 29, 1959, when Nikita Khrushchev delivered his prediction for America at the United Nations. Remember the television coverage of him banging his shoe on the podium? At that time, just the word “communism” was feared throughout our nation. Remember this. Socialism leads to Communism How do you create a Socialist State? There are eight levels of control:
          1) Healthcare – Control healthcare and you control the people
          2) Poverty – Increase the poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them.
          3) Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.
          4) Gun Control – Remove the ability to defend themselves from the government . That way you are able to create a police state.
          5) Welfare – Take control of every aspect (food, housing, income) of their lives because that will make them fully dependent on the government.
          6) Education – Take control of what people read, listen to and take control of what children learn in school.
          7) Religion – Remove the belief in God from the government and schools because the people need to believe in ONLY the government knowing what is best for the people.
8)Class Warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. Eliminate the middle class. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to tax the rich with the support of the poor.
ALL EIGHT of those levels are already well underway being implemented by Democrats.

      • California or Iowa-

“farming” has hardly been a “family” operation for about 30 years or more, regardless of the Norman Rockwell image pandering politicians attempt to portray.

        • spot on. I keep trying to tell preppers that, but they just can’t get past the theme music playing in their heads.

      • “They like the Totalitarianism”

they like the financial support. when the source of the financial support leaves, they’ll abandon the place like rats running from a burning building.

    • Unfortunately, by then the commie climate control Geoengineering terrorists will have decimated California enough with droughts, floods, and fires that it will resemble an old rusted out charcoal barbecue grill and become almost uninhabitable anyway. That’s if a massive ‘ring of fire’ event doesn’t wipe most of it out beforehand.

      • Geoengineering terrorists, are you making a funny or do you really think that?
Sometimes I wonder about if that may not be true.

        • it’s not. it’s just that the ones behind this simply marshal their monopolized media resources to take advantage of whatever happens. so it looks like they’re causing/controlling whatever it is, but really they’re just running out in front of it as soon as it appears.

  3. I would guess for them it had mostly to do with the high cost of employees and taxes in that state.

  4. Why be anywhere? Just saw 2 google “news” things on my phone. One “artist” said he doesn’t have to work anymore ’cause jamoks “bought” so much NFT “art” he’s set. A few scrolls away a rich(?)dude was whining his $2.2million NFT artwork was stolen in a phishing scam. He he…good luck ATN. Don’t bring californiastan with you!

  5. Well I don’t blame them for leaving for a whole host of reasons.
The good news for folks in free America, is that those of us planning on leaving, or leaving tend by and large not to be liberal. We want a conservative state, and actively get involved to make sure the states we move to, don’t go the way of California.
For many if they are single moving is easy. Picking up a family, moving schools etc is a big deal. We don’t take moving across the country lightly.

  6. Will the last person to leave California please turn out the lights (in order to stay in compliance with the state’s strict climate change regulations, of course)?“

Love the shot to the kidney, after a good upper cut.

  7. I think that in this case the moving has zero to do with guns rather they are moving away to another state where the labor is cheaper in an ignorant Red State where the people are so dumb they are too cheap to join a Union because they figure saving a few bucks in Union dues is better than getting a good retirement program, safer working conditions and at least some health coverage and drug coverage.

Moving will also involve getting huge tax breaks for a couple of years during start up as well. Again it probably has more to do with California’s high taxes and the prevalence of unions or just the average higher wage because of the cost of living in California. I have a Brother that lives out there and manages for a large corporation and he has told me about the high wages they pay just to start but many times people newly hired often go out for lunch and never come back.

    • darcydodo…Sounds like you have a Capitalist relative who could set you up in CA. You should fit left in with all those out to lunch losers…start packing bozo.

      • Actually, we should take up donations to send him to Venezuela since he would be an even better fit there! Oh, and in a win/win for us the power is off there a lot and their internet is slow when it works at all (much like the government).

    • Lol your a riot. There to dumb to join a union and the reason California is a fail is because of unions and bullshtd, did I read that right?
At least we can have gunms that the aussie’s cant have, right dacian , that’s real funny ain’t it. I like to rub that in their nose every chance I get, right dacian.

      • Awww possum, just a few posts ago it sounded like he had found a workable replacement for his lithium and you two might become pals… thanks Mr. Unicorn guy for messing that up for us !

        • It’s funny how little d actually believes he’s the good guy as he displays his prejudice and insults people. The Left has a list of people that’s okay to denigrate. I’m sure it’s a coincidence that the people on that list are usually opposed to Democrats. That’s why Miner will white knight for Muslims and Kwanzaa while simultaneously disparage Christianity. The sheep and their tribalism…

    • The two biggest, most powerful unions in the state are the Teacher’s Union and the Corrections Officer’s Union. The Teacher’s Union is by far the most liberal and pretty much thinks it should be running this asylum, not withstanding that California is among the three worst school systems in the nation. What does that tell you?

      • It says that building trades and corporate unions do not have the power in Ca, that many think they do – and they would be correct! When civil service unions have the power in the state, they set policy for themselves, but any corporations that pay people and pay taxes are free to leave. What does that leave the civil service workers?

    • The actual strength in “modern day” union membership, regardless of state or region is in the public sector, as in: positions for which the taxpayers are on the hook. The leftists will throw IBEW or UAW under their solar-powered busses today to placate the NEA.

Imagine just 3 years ago entire public school districts being shut down via a show trial-type vote by membership due to an illness that has a less than 1% mortality rate across the entire age spectrum. Now that’s real union power.

Actually, our best Covid hope is probably that every “kid” 19 or younger contracts it in some form, shakes it off like Mumps and puts it to bed for good.

The school shutdowns will actually continue this “pandemic” rather than curb it. As for safety to the teachers and staff? I’m betting the VAST majority have been jabbed already. Now, if that vax isn’t all that effective? That’s on the government and Fauci’s minions.

      Moderate away…

      • The people that have been vaccinated have a 50% chance of not dying from coronavirus, the non vaccinated have a 50% chance of dying from coronavirus. Is the way I understand it.

        • On any given day there’s a fifty percent chance of rain, even in the middle of the desert – it’s either gonna rain or it isn’t…. so yes, oh level headed marsupial, I agree with your assessment.

      • The problem here is that Covid can be caught a second time, so having measles/mumps/chicken pox parties doesn’t work in giving them immunity against Covid 19.

    • dacian, Oh PULLEEASSSEE! You can’t be serious. You Lefties don’t really care about the jobs that will be lost. This company was perfectly happy until you Lefties have made it a Socialist’s Mecca.
Your Union “excuse” is ridiculous. Unions have priced the American worker out of the market. Why do you think that union membership is WAY DOWN? Your Union big wigs take phenomenal salaries while they get close to nothing for the members. The Union propagate your socialist propaganda at the expense of the workers. The Unions no longer represent the will of the workers. The drastic drop in membership should being that fact out in a glaring manner.

  8. I had no idea where ATN was located/stuck in. It takes business and residents relocating from marxist slave states to make a point. It also takes a lot to move such a business from one coast to another. When the time comes to purchase certain products ATN and others who have relocated to appreciative free states will be at the top of our shopping list.

  9. “Will the last person to leave California please turn out the lights”

the lights will go out long before the last illegal flees to follow the anglos.

  10. I doubt that the Lefties in Kalifornia care if gun mfgs leave in droves. They don’t consider the jobs that will leave the state are important enough.

  11. U-Haul Rates December 2021

    LA to Dallas – $5,685 5.2x
    Dallas to LA – $1,090

    San Fran to Dallas – $7,054 8.3x
Dallas to San Fran – $854

  12. It is easier to fool someone than to convince them they have been fooled= AKA democrats!

  13. Good for ATN. Now if they would simply do ALL their manufacturing here in the USA I’m sure they would sell more products. Currently I’m saving for a higher dollar thermal from a USA-only company.

  14. Dacian is a leftist Troll. Unions have increased salaries and health benefits for factory workers to the point where US manufacturers cannot compete with foreign companies. Therefore they move their industries to China or Mexico. Plus Unions fight for workers to keep their jobs when they’ve been caught drinking or doing drugs at work. Professional unions like the electrical workers are the only unions that actually make any sense.

  15. I’m sure the good folks in Florida will be happy for the employment that ATN will bring in.
As for the labor union angle mentioned above, I have to say the poster is full of it.
My wife had a very good job with a national/international company. Non union plant. The company pushed the union onto the local facility. Within 6 months they union had negotiatd themselves out of a good health care plan into something tha cost more, but provided much less, put seniority ahead of merit and ability, and ultimately the plant closed down and moved off shore. Quality control and productivity were supposedly the reasons, but, those issues didn’t come up until the union got in.
That was in an area where the 200 jobs would be hard to replace. Also found that the company sponsored union basically black balled former workers with negative refference responses and poor reviews. Thing is, in the 5 years my wife worked there before the union came in, the plant was getting company awards for quality and productivity. The company was doing both government contracts and sub contracting work for Boeing Aircraft and Bell Helicopter.
