AG Harris Bans All New Semiautomatic Handguns in California

img59

California’s Kamala Harris, the best-looking attorney general in the nation, has signed a letter mandating micro stamping technology for all new semiautomatic handguns being sold in the Golden State. [Read the letter here.] Any new model handgun must have a microstamped serial number somewhere on the gun’s frame and a firing pin that stamps a unique number onto the cartridge before (or as) it ignites the primer. I immediately reached out to Brandon Combs of the Firearms Policy Coalition to confirm. Confirmed. Brandon has assured me that the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale is being challenged in court as a whole. Meanwhile for those Golden State gun buyers this means . . .

California Ammo Sales Registration and Mag Ban Bill Revealed

nancy

California State Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner has introduced California Assembly Bill AB-48. It’s now headed to committee. The bill attempts to close “loopholes” in the Golden State’s unconstitutionally restrictive firearms laws. For example, at the moment, a shooter can lend or borrow a 30-round magazine at a 3Gun competition—-so long as the other person is on site. Skinner’s skinned that cat . . .

California Gun Ban Bill Revealed: SB-47 Hits the Street

lelandyee

Many of you remember Leland Yee from California. He introduced his AB 249 last year, known fondly as the bullet button ban. Most of the free world gets to simply push a nice button to release their magazines, but here in California we have this nifty little piece of crap bullet button. This was a work-around to bypass California’s AWB. Leland’s original legislation had no grand fathering and no financial restitution. Turn them in or be a felon. That was the choice. Now Leland is back, embolden by the tragedy at Sandy Hook and subsequent bloody T-Shirt waving. Lee’s SB 47 is currently sitting in committee. [Click here for the text.] This is not the only gun ban bill California is facing, but it’s one that reaches pretty deep . . .

Report: Military Establishing Active Duty Firearms Database

Well that didn’t take long. The Commander in Chief’s gun controlling zeal has evidently already reached into the military ranks. According to a report received from the wife of an active duty lieutenant (not pictured above) who is stationed in Indiana, the Army intends to register the firearms owned not only by servicemen and -women, but by their spouses and children as well . . .

Californians Turned Out to Peacefully Protest Saturday

I promised RF pictures from our Sacramento rally and here they are. The Capitol Building in Sacramento is really beautiful this time of year with the park area surrounding it. Saturday’s rally attendees got some great shots of the building. Although the mainstream media claimed hundreds, we believe the crowd peaked around 2,000 people. Most of those who attended were families. Kids and parents alike worked on coming up with creative signs. Make the jump for a sampling . . .

Senator Schumer to Walmart: Stop Selling Rifles. Voluntarily.

According to nydailynews.com, New York Senator Schumer has asked Walmart to stop selling “assault rifles.” Voluntarily. The pol who doesn’t mind Bushmaster selling MSRs to the military reckons the Big Box retailer is not part of the solution to Sandy Hook-style spree killings. “We have no idea how many people [buying the guns] are mentally ill, or how many are felons. If Congress passes measures to reduce availability of these weapons, those efforts could be undermined by the purchase of thousands of weapons before then.” I guess the Senator doesn’t put much stock in Walmart’s reliance on [mandatory] FBI background checks to screen out felons and mental incompetents. Understandably. But we can’t go on together with suspicious minds; and Chuck’s willful ignorance knows no bounds, temporally-speaking . . .

Guns, Cars and Knives: A Question of Balance

A friend of mine posted her status on FaceBook recently after having the pleasure of visiting the great city war zone that is Oakland, California. “Man! The Streets of Oakland are Mean!” Her statement is hardly unique to the east bay. Many urban areas of this country are becoming rife with gang violence, drugs and crime. On Friday, four men were killed within a span of six hours on the bright side of the bay. In a shocking development, police are reporting that the deaths were linked to feuding groups of gangs. The media dutifully report the shootings and robberies. After all, if it bleeds, it leads. But they rarely focus on the core issues behind the criminality: organized crime, drugs, and prostitution . . .

Guns Across America: NutnFancy’s Call to Action

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MUAfft7l4wQ

The NRA had one—count it one—news conference following the sea-change spree killing at Sandy Hook. Once the Code Pink protestors got tossed, NRA Veep Wayne LaPierre tried and failed to communicate sympathy, resolve and a coherent plan of action. As expected, the media wailed on Wayne as an out-of-touch gun clinger. Mind you, that’s the PR side of the coin. Down in the trenches, The NRA has had great success with their lobbying campaigns. They’re the guys walking down the corridors of power making the pols pay attention to your Constitutionally protected right to keep and are bear arms. The issue I am seeing: the NRA is still in reactive mode . . .

Buzz Bissinger: “Shoot Alex Jones with a Semi Automatic”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbV2eYla_b8&list=UUvsye7V9psc-APX6wV1twLg&index=10 Citizen disarmament messiah, CNN chat show host and resident alien Piers Morgan is a bit of a lightning rod these days, accidentally on purpose. Giving InfoWars impressario Alex Jones air time was a clever ruse; Morgan knew full well that Jones would be Jones. (You might say “bat shit crazy” but I couldn’t possibly … Read more
