It was deja vu all over again from the White House tonight. President Biden addressed the nation again, talking about the shootings in Uvalde, Buffalo and beyond. If you’ve been paying attention to Biden’s speeches regarding gun control since he took office, you’ve heard it all before.

Quick summary: he called for these “rational, commonsense measures” . . .

An “assault weapons” ban
A “high capacity” magazine ban
A safe storage mandate law
A federal red flag law
A ban on all gun sales to adults under 21 years of age
Repeal of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act

Sound familiar? It should. While he framed his remarks around the mass shootings in Buffalo and Uvalde (while pulling in Sandy Hook, Parkland and Fort Hood) literally nothing he called for tonight was anything he hasn’t said he wants dozens of times before.

Biden made sure to assure his audience that this really isn’t about taking away anyone’s guns, or vilifying gun owners. He said (with a straight face) that he “respects the culture, tradition and concerns of lawful gun owners.” He noted that machine guns have been “federally regulated for 90 years and we’re still a free country.”

Then he reiterated his recent talking point that the Second Amendment isn’t absolute. He decried that, as he said, too many schools and everyday places have become killing fields and battlefields here in America. It’s time, he said, after spending time with the family members of victims, that we “do something, just do something.”

He backed up his call for action by claiming that 20 mass shootings have taken place since the Uvalde shooting last week. He cited the skewed CDC data that claimed guns are the leading killer of children (though the study included “children” as old as 19 years old in order to make that claim).

Biden then applauded the gun control bills that are currently moving through the House of Representatives. They would reinstate an “assault weapons” ban, outlaw “high cap” magazines, ban “ghost guns,” make private sales illegal, and raise the age to purchase all guns to 21.

Then he tsk-tsked the prospects of getting anything through the Senate, noting that it will take 10 GOP Senators to make that happen. It was an obvious ploy so he’ll be later able to blame Republicans when the gun control bills he know won’t pass die somewhere short of 60 votes.

Biden then said he’s “been in this fight for a long time, but I’ll never give up. If Congress fails, the American people won’t give up either. I hope they will make their outrage central to their vote…enough, enough, enough.”

Was that transparent enough for you? With sky-high gasoline prices, rampant inflation, baby formula shortages and more, Democrats are looking at getting shellacked at the polls in November. Biden hopes to make a lack of action on “gun safety” a key campaign talking point for Democrats to use against Republicans in order to limit the damage.

He ended with this . . .

“My fellow Americans, enough. It’s time for each of us to do our part. It’s time to act. Let’s meet the moment. Let’s finally do something.”

And with that, he turned and left, having done precisely what he’s done on these same issues repeatedly since taking office…nothing.

    • well,..at least he didn’t prattle on about cannons being unavailable in the past…really looked foolish doing that…

  1. He can want in his left hand and take a sh*t in his right and see which one gets full faster.

The economy is crashing faster than the Hindenburg. We got 6+ dollar a gallon gas and folks have to go to mexico to get baby formula. People are getting scared and desperation is near at hand.

And his solution is crimes against humanity and violations of civil rights. Absolutely the worst president ever.

    • I seem to remember someone saying, ‘It’s the economy, stupid!’ Seems to have happened a long time ago – like more than 4 years ago . . .

      • seems like the dems have hung their hat on gun control…what else have they got?

        • …Handing out $10,000 in student loan forgiveness to the most privileged sector of our population to be paid for by those that either never went to college or were responsible enough to pay off their loans. That should win over the working class!

    • The definition of stupidity is to do the same things over and over again and expect a different result.

The last AWB did nothing other than petty virtue signaling, before virtue signaling was a thing.

  2. I’m gonna go buy a new gun tomorrow, and some ammunition. I encourage all posting here to do the same.

    • I’m a revolver and lever action guy. I love ’em. I only own two semi-automatic rifles, a Colt M4 and a Ruger 10/22. The left has pushed me further into the semi-auto camp, just because they want to ban them. It’s AR-10 time. I’m looking at the WINDHAM SRC R16FTT308. American made. Affordable price.

      Any other suggestions?

      • Take a look also at the DPMS G2 Recon. Solid rifle as-is and a great basis for mods.

      • I don’t know what your budget looks like, but I got the new NATO AUG and I like it a lot more than I thought I would. No bolt hold open on the variant that takes AR mags (but I don’t think you’re into tacticool reloads anyway) and it’s terrible for Lefties (God’s mistakes). It’s super accurate, has a full rail on top and an extra length on the side for optics/lights, it’s short and handy, and turns eyes at the range.

I also LOVE pistol caliber carbines. I’ve enjoyed basically every one that I’ve shot

      • The M&P 10 looks similar for less money. I don’t know which one is better or if there’s enough difference to matter. I seem to remember Nutnfancy being pretty high on the M&P 10.

    • Jimmy Beam,

      I applaud your sentiment.

In my case I already have plenty of firearms and cannot see myself purchasing any more in the near future. For everyone else who does not already have “plenty of firearms”, I encourage you to follow Jimmy Beam’s lead and purchase another firearm in the next few days.

  3. Not to worry…It’s just Jim Crow Gun Control joe being Jim Crow Gun Control joe…

  4. Three presidents Carter, Clinton, and Obama, have had their school-age children set to a School building that was itself turned into an armed Fortress. But your kids are not that important. The democrats and some republicans are comfortable having student’s shot dead in their classrooms.

And they refuse to force the mentally ill into treatrment.

    • They could never admit to that being a solution because that would completely undermine their political argument of “gunz bad.” That means they would rather have dead children than a solution other than what they’re proposing. Like you said, they already know what works. It’s good enough for them. They also know their security won’t be giving up their scary rifles. Hypocrites.

  5. They were wiped out after the 94 AWB and they didn’t care. Their super-power is embracing political suicide for their great globalist policies because they know for some inexplicable reason they’ll get back in eventually to do it again and while they’re out the uniparty RINOs won’t do shit to end their policies.

    • They didn’t care?? DNC Power was broken for many years, and they’ve not seriously pursued gun control at the federal level since. That’s why the only meaningful gun control passed at the federal level in 20 some years was Trump for crying out loud.

    • Also, while they’re “out of power,” they will continue to control the federal bureaucracy and media which will undermine and hamper conservatives until the dems can get back in.

      • Which is why most civil service laws need to go and the spoils system needs to come back. It won’t end corruption (nothing will), but it’s much harder for a Swamp to form if the whole thing stands to be flushed every 4 years.

  6. Thanks for taking the bullet and enduring the ravings of that senile, angry old man. I could not make myself sit through another rambling set of lies spewed forth from the man who is running neck and neck for the title of worst president in the history of these United States.

  7. Not one comment about soft targets, where deranged shooters feel safe going in to commit their crimes. Why do we safeguard banks and courthouses, but leave doors open for anyone to enter, teach no one how to be a school guard champion, with a 9mm full-stack handgun to protect these kids. And don’t get me started about the recent Robb elementary school where no official leader took control to quickly end the shooter. We had the way same issue in Florida where the sheriff’s deputy told other officers to hold back. BS, if you wear the uniform do the job. And demand compensation pay.

  8. None of this happened 50 years ago when guns were even less restricted and more easily available.

The Democrats have pushed their social engineering crap down our throats for 50 years and they’re responsible for all of the dysfunction we are being subjected to today.

Biden and the Dems are scapegoating us to evade their own responsibility for this mess.

    GTH you tyrant jerk.

    FJB

    • “None of this happened 50 years ago when guns were even less restricted and more easily available“

It never ceases to amaze me that so many conservatives on TTAG are oblivious to the actual facts of history.

“Although the original mall has been demolished and replaced with newer buildings, longtime Raleigh residents still remember Memorial Day 1972, when a sniper opened fire and killed four people, while wounding seven others,[8] in the North Hills parking lot. The shooter, 22-year-old Harvey Glenn McLeod, hid himself between cars and methodically picked off innocent shoppers before turning his .22 caliber Ruger semi-automatic rifle (that he had purchased earlier that day) on himself and committing suicide. Initially, law enforcement and the media thought the target of the attack was U.S. Senator B. Everett Jordan, who was campaigning at the mall that day. It was later determined that McLeod’s rampage was an act of random violence,[9] although Senator Jordan’s press secretary was one of the victims“

And that’s not all, there was another beer shooting later that year:

“The Fountain Valley massacre was a mass shooting that occurred on the afternoon of 6 September 1972 at the Fountain Valley Golf Course in St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands.[1] The shooting left eight employees and tourists dead. Another eight were either shot at or wounded.“

Yes, that’s right, almost 50 years to the day we had mass shootings, on Republican president Richard Nixon‘s watch.

If it wasn’t for disinformation, the conservative Republicans would have no information at all.

      • Miner49er –

Are you as dense as you sound?
The person was trying to point out that our country is more fucked up now than 50 years ago. And there were LESS controls than now. Anyone with half a brain knows that.

Again, What’s your solution? Anyone can Google up facts and spew them out. So you like to beat up on 2A folks…gives you an orgasmic rush I guess. But in the end…what’s your solution to this? Or do you just like to keep repeating your ‘disinformation’ line…

        • “So you like to beat up on 2A folks”

As a longtime observer of Miner in the wild, I’ve come to the conclusion that’s it’s more about partisanship than anything.

      • Minor MINER49er, You are truly pathetic. You cite two incidents and try to make it sound like the Normandy Invasion. Have you lost your mind?
Face is Minor, you are one of the anti-gun radicals that really wants to see all guns confiscated. Then your control would be complete.

        • “I’ve come to the conclusion that’s it’s more about partisanship“?

Partisanship? This entire article and every single comment is an attack on Joe Biden and the Democrats, but that’s not partisanship…

And regarding the commenter’s premise that these things did not happen 50 years ago, he ignores the fact the United States population has gone from 210 million in 1972, to 332 million in 2022, an increase of 63%.

Of course every stat (including crime) should be up by 63%, it’s simple math.

And in those 50 years, total number of guns in the US has increased from approximately 150 million to around 400 million, a 250% increase in the number of guns available to the population (including criminals and the mentally ill).

Of course the incidents of violence involving guns is going to be much higher now than it was 50 years ago, it’s simple math.

While screaming “partisanship!” every conservative Republican will ignore this simple math, in order to blame the Democrats for the increase.

That’s the very definition of “partisanship”.

“really wants to see all guns confiscated“

No, I have expressed my opinion about training and proficiency testing many times, you are intentionally mischaracterizing my position in order to support your delusional narrative, sad.

          https://dev.thetruthaboutguns.com/how-many-guns-are-there-in-america/amp/

        • Partisanship?

“on Republican president Richard Nixon‘s watch.”

“If it wasn’t for disinformation, the conservative Republicans would have no information at all.”

Yeah sure, zero partisanship. Do you ever get tired of lying?

        • Dude,

“Do you ever get tired of lying?” No. No, he doesn’t. Nor does he ever get tired of his unflagging Leftist/fascist partisanship. We can all admit that many Republicans (yes, including Trump, and Nixon, and both Bushes) were quite flawed, and not to our liking, but MinorIQ jacks off to his FDR, Obama, and Mao posters. He’s a pathetic, ignorant, partisan @$$clown. Ignore him, or mock him.

  9. So the POTUS brings an argument based on emotion and no facts to the Nation.

All the measures he has offered does not address the root cause of the violence we are seeing to mitigate.

The more dangerous a society becomes, the more people will arm themselves after losing faith in the system. Many disregard the law because self preservation is more important than the impotent system that fails to keep violent people out of society regardless of how many times these people offend.

If the leftists remain in the majority, we will no longer be a civilized Country. They will be entrenched enough to finish their revolution.

  10. Meanwhile, Chile’s new socialist dictator says he’s going to ban ALL guns.

  11. Always leave it to a Democrat President to be the most non-Presidential of them all. Biden is one incompetent SORRY BASTARD to campaign for unconstitutional politics on the graves of the dead, especially our children. These people are nothing but paranoid tyrants that would suck the very last drop of their momma’s blood if they thought it would get them elected or even get ahead. Their inferiority complex is truly exceptional and dangerous for anyone in power to have. I used to think only Obama did that but I guess his front-man punk BARE SHELF BIDEN is just as bad. I hope and pray for whatever is necessary to happen to get this true evil and human waste out of our government on all levels ASAP.

  12. Okay, so fedzilla gets all of their dream civilian disarmament agenda. Then violent spree killers start using chains (to lock doors) + gasoline + matches to easily and quickly create even higher casualty counts. Or, violent spree killers use chains + toxic chemicals + 2 gallon buckets to easily and quickly create higher casualty counts. Or they use vehicles, or (fill in the blank).

    Then what?

There are countless inexpensive ways for violent spree killers to ply their trade. Attempts to eliminate their methods are a futile game of whack-a-mole. Of course politicians know this and don’t care–they are capitalizing on current affairs to consolidate their wealth and power. That being the case, STOP giving politicians a pass for their policy failures and start voting them out of office for INTENTIONALLY enacting policies which are destructive for society.

  13. Heard awhile ago that Bin Laden was planning to have Obummer assassinated. Part of the instructions for the killers was to NOT kill VP Biden, because he knew that Biden was so incompetent that it would do more damage to the US to leave him alive to become president.
    What does that tell you?

    • “Heard awhile ago that Bin Laden was planning to have Obummer assassinated“

So Barack Hussein Obama wasn’t a secret Muslim terrorist, and he’s actually the CinC who gave the order for Osama bin Lawden to be killed after George W. Bush had ignored the greatest criminal massacre of American citizens in history.

Thanks, Obama, I guess the Republicans just didn’t have the stones to take out Osama bin Laden.

        • “Clinton had the chance to take bin laden out before he killed thousands“

And Clinton did indeed order cruise missile strikes on Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden in Khost Province, Afghanistan, and Khartoum, Sudan.

Unfortunately, some Republican senators chose to take issue with attempting to kill Osama bin Laden and destroy the Muslim terrorists personnel and equipment:

“Sens. Dan Coats (R-Ind.) and Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) swiftly voiced concern that Clinton might have acted to divert public attention from his personal problems related to the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal. On Monday, Clinton went on national TV to admit an inappropriate relationship with the former White House intern.

Coats, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said in a statement, “While there is clearly much more we need to learn about this attack and why it was ordered today, given the president’s personal difficulties this week, it is legitimate to question the timing of this action.”

          https://edition.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1998/08/20/strike.react/

And Republican president George W. Bush, just six months after Osama bin Laden had financed and led the attack that killed 3000 Americans, said “I truly am not that concerned about him.”

“We haven’t heard much from him. And I wouldn’t necessarily say he’s at the center of any command structure. And, again, I don’t know where he is,” Bush said during the 2002 news conference. “I’ll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him. I know he is on the run.“

          https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2004-oct-14-na-osama14-story.html

I thank Providence daily that Democratic president Barack Hussein Obama had the stones to order the death of Osama bin Laden.

The actual facts of history are just so fascinating…

        • So Clinton backed down…
I guess his stones were bouncing off of Monica’s chin instead of taking care of business.

      • Minor MINOR49er. Wow! You make it sound like Obuma the Phone was some kind of heor for making a decision a third grader could have made. And for your further edification, Sleepy Joe opposed going after binLaden (not bin Lawden).
George W Bush ignored the greatest criminal massacre in American History Have you forgotten the War on Terror?
I guess you also forgot how Obuma the Phony drew a red line over the use of chemical weapons in Syria and then did absolutely nothing. When Assad did the same when Trump was President, Trumpe bombed his sorry arse.
The lies seems to just flow out of your sorry posterior.

        • “a decision a third grader could have made“

Republican president George W. Bush and the Republicans in Congress had the opportunity during the remaining seven years of W’s presidency to make that decision and failed miserably.

I guess you’re saying that Republicans aren’t capable of making a decision any third grader could’ve made.

That’s one thing we agree on!

        • Let’s see here Miner, Democrats have laid out plans to:

Ban semi auto rifles if they look scary.
Lower legal standards to take property pre crime.
Force citizens to buy things for their home.
Strip rights from 18-20 year olds
Ban the most common magazines in use today

While they do this, Biden claims 9MM will blow the lungs out of the body and in preparation for a Canadian style handgun ban….

Let’s turn to Miner to get his opinion on upcoming gun control bills:

bUt RePuBlIcANs, bUSh, AnD oRAngE mAn BaD!!!!!!

You’re a whole fucking clown. Make sure you touch your toes when begging for Biden to “Govern me harder daddy!!!!!”

      • And you call others partisan?
Yes, Obummer gave the order to have Bin Laden taken out, after dithering about it forever.
You also ignored my main point, that even Bin Laden knew all those years ago how totally incompetent Dementia Biden was, and still is.
Why no mention of that on your part?

        • “Obummer gave the order to have Bin Laden taken out, after dithering about it forever.“

The Republicans “dithered” about it for 7 years, Barack Hussein Obama got it done just 16 months after taking office.

How many thousands of innocent victims were killed by Osama bin Laden because the Republicans “dithered” for years?

“my main point, that even Bin Laden knew all those years ago how totally incompetent Dementia Biden was“

Here’s the actual text from the captured computer files:

“Obama is the head of infidelity, and killing him automatically will make Biden take over the presidency,” bin Laden wrote, according to a 2012 Washington Post article. “Biden is totally unprepared for that post, which will lead the U.S. into a crisis.”

Sorry, I don’t take Muslim terrorists’ wishful thinking as a valid estimate of the abilities of the American president.

But if you want to place your faith in Osama bin Laden’s ability to judge character, be my guest.

      • ‘Cause Muslims never kill other Muslims?? Tell that to the Shia and Sunnis, you ignorant f***. FWIW, I don’t think Barry Soetoro was a Muslim – he lacks the intellectual fortitude to have any “religion” other than his beloved Leftist/fascist extremism. But we do know for a FACT that Sleep Joe, the Senile Serial Child Molester, was the one who urged Barry the Commie NOT to kill bin Laden. Once again, you prove yourself an ignorant, lying f***stick. Go micturate up a cable, you Leftist/fascist POS.

  14. I haven’t seen the practical Joker, Decian. Did he finally realise that we realise he’s just punking us?

  15. Let me get this straight.
The police once again respond to a mass shooting event by cowering in the parking lot while they wait for the shooting to stop. Senile Sock Puppet President Joe Biden then eagerly exploits the carnage by announcing sweeping gun reform before the children have even been buried. I’m going to start dumping truck loads of pit run outside of local police stations so we can have some good, old fashioned, public stonings.

  16. I don’t have enough popcorn for this shit.

I do have enough ammo tho.
    Come. And. Take. Them.

Look, eventually, something will pass. It’ll tax the fuck out of us and given the state of people already not being able to live affordably, I’d say that’ll be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. I am single, live alone, and the cost of living is no way that someone can do anymore out of school and working low paying jobs. The economy is fucked. No sane person watched the previous election and felt safe. It’s going to get worse, much worse. And the rhetoric is “we’ll protect you” because some softies fall victim to social media manipulation and can’t understand thats the real issue? Fuck off. At this point, I’m not even sympathetic. You made me this way. I’d rather see 1,000 “mass shootings” than give up my ability to defend myself.

      • And who do you live with, your boyfriend?
Is it time to push up his stool again?

      • Sounds like the inbred from WV is jealous.

You of all people should respect the facts:
If you want to keep kids safe, never leave their side. The world is chaotic, violent, and dangerous. Social media has serious levels of addiction and the consequences are what we are seeing today. Kids failing and letting the levels dopamine reach levels they don’t even get to on an 8 ball of cocaine, then venting on innocents in any form they can find. Don’t blame the weapon they chose, blame the societies worldwide that enable their mental states to worsen. I made my choice to not have kids and to remain single a long time ago. If that makes you uncomfortable, it’s because you can’t even admit to yourself how smart of a choice it truly is.

  17. May the ineptitude he has shown his whole time in office carry over to this matter as well.

  18. I can see limiting sales of all semi automatic firearms to those 21 and over. With the exception of those who serve or who’s parents take custody of the firearm until 21.
They can then own pump action, lever action and bolt action any caliber. No revolver unless it’s single action. Trade that for guards with rifles at schools

    • Obviously you have never heard about the “slippery slope.” 21 becomes 35 and then becomes no one. Why is it kids can go vote and fight a war and DIE (for nothing) and yet cannot drink or hold a gun until they are 21?

You realize many many murders and mass shootings are done by people older than 21. What’s your plan then?

No one bans kids from driving under 21 even though they are statistically the most likely to die or kill others while driving. Yet for guns we are concerned but for cars we shrug our shoulders?

What about all the black on black mass shootings in the inner cities? No one seems to care about that…

      • “What about all the black on black mass shootings in the inner cities? No one seems to care about that…”

Correct. Dems avoid that conversation because they’re implicated in it. However, their voters really don’t care because they aren’t affected by it. They just stay on their side of the tracks. No problem. Mass shootings are a different story. They’re scared of that because they can happen anywhere and to anyone at anytime.

      • I’d be cool with no vote till 21. I don’t see it as stopping mass shooter s I see it as limiting an incel’s options untill he can get to a bar have a drink and take a fat chick home, please name the last mass shooter why was getting laid regularly?

        • The young white man who killed all the Asian massage therapists was getting his ashes hauled regularly, but his Christian religion just made him feel so dirty he had to kill all the girls.

I know it sounds crazy, don’t ask me to explain that religious shit, it’s beyond rational thought

        • He may have been a Christian but his insanity is the reason for the evil he perpetrated on those poor women. Evil exists in this world and blaming it on Christianity is stupid and lazy.

        • Miner, the Christian who killed the Asian massage therapists only did so because of how his Christian religion made him feel? You have a source for that?

If only the rest of the people on TTAG weren’t religious bigots right?!? How is it even possible that you are incapable of seeing your own irony, hypocrisy, and rampant hatred?

        • “the Christian who killed the Asian massage therapists only did so because of how his Christian religion made him feel? You have a source for that?“

That’s not me saying he blamed his religious beliefs for the murders, that’s the murderous perpetrator himself:

“Instead, 21-year-old Robert Aaron Long told authorities during his confession that he blamed the spas for his sex addiction and indicated that he was on his way to Florida to commit more shootings on “some type of porn industry.”

There was widespread speculation since Tuesday that the attacks were racially motivated because six of the eight victims were Asian American women. The Asian American community has seen a surge in hate crimes amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

“During our interviews we asked that specific question and that did not appear to be the motive,” said Sheriff Frank Reynolds of Cherokee County, where the first of the three shootings occurred.
Instead, Reynolds said they believed Long had previously been a patron at the spas and was “lashing out.”

          https://www.courthousenews.com/atlanta-area-shootings-leave-8-dead-many-of-asian-descent/

“Long was a hunter[33] and was heavily involved in his Southern Baptist congregation.[42] Cherokee County Sheriff Frank Reynolds said Long did not have any prior interactions with law enforcement.[43]

Long spent time in HopeQuest, an evangelical treatment facility located near Acworth and down the road from the first spa that he attacked. He was a patient at the treatment center for what he described as “sex addiction”, a label used by some for those that cannot control their sexual urges as expected by purity culture.[44][45] He claimed to be “tortured” by his addiction to sex since he was “deeply religious”, according to his halfway house roommate.[41][46] His roommate also said that, several times during his stay at the halfway house, Long said that he had “relapsed” and gone to massage parlors to visit sex workers.[46] His parents had kicked him out of their house the night before the shooting due to concerns about his sex addiction, and said he watched internet pornography several hours each day. A report to police said that he “was emotional” after being evicted from his parents’ house.[35][46]

          Motive
According to the police, Long described his actions as being the result of a sex addiction that conflicted with his religious beliefs.[44][47] Long had been a customer at two of the massage parlors, and saw them as sources of sexual temptation.[47] Police records show that two of the massage parlors had been the site of 10 prostitution arrests, the latest of which took place in 2013.[48] All three targeted spas appeared on an online guide to brothels.[49] Long claims to have initially thought about killing himself but instead decided to target the businesses to “help” others dealing with sex addiction.[46][47] According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department, Long wanted to “eliminate the temptation” by targeting spas.[50][51]

He had been an active member of Crabapple First Baptist Church in Milton, Georgia.[52] The church took down its Facebook site, which included photos that included Long, after the shooting.[52]“

      • it’s been 21 for handguns for a long, long time…you’re physically mature at 18…mentally, not so much…

      • Nobody going to mention the fact that this country sees the elderly as generally unemployable and limited but they are the ones running the country too? Limit voting to 21, then it becomes even longer and so on… I agree with the slippery slope – especially given the state of the economy and the fact that “kids” now days are still in their 30’s and never really grew up at all, still living at home with their folks (either because they simply cannot afford to live alone, or because they lack the discipline to budget – or both – and I won’t even start on how shit the wages are in comparison to the actual cost of living) and the government wants to limit everything we do already… so this is just one more thing for them. In some countries, you can go out to clubs at 16, where drinking age is legal at 18… so what age do you think they really start drinking? And it’s not even half as close to a problem as it is here in the US with drunk drivers and idiots abusing substances in general. So clearly, the answer is not an age restriction. It’s something much deeper.

Ever wonder why these things happen in 3’s and then some? Almost like the media/social media enables it for some already depressed individual to glorify and plan their method of venting. There are so many people that speak about the dangerous levels our societies have reached, Jordan Peterson being one this forum would know, and nothing is being done to limit them. If we are going to limit and restrict anything, it should be this toxic cesspool of the internet. It’s no longer about information, it’s about manipulation. Someone controls how you feel on a daily basis because you are so involved in this popularity contest and you don’t even realize it.

Leave the second amendment alone. It’s time for a new one that regulates social media, and the news (or as it’s called in America – ad’s).

  19. It’s the suing of gunm companies that’ll put a stop to gunms HiPoints will sale for $10,000 and they will have to sale a thousand of them just to cover litigation.
Democrats, champions of the poor, right.

  20. This quote applies to Biden, and many other politicians.

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” C.S. Lewis

  21. Evidence that he is crashing/burning with the demtard base. So must distract the fools from the Obiden record with their sure fire hotbutton “issue” with their “base”.

How Obiden (and Harris) get dumber every time they speak?

We’re in the primary season and the general election is only 5m away. The idiot dems MUST motivate their traditional (and imaginary) voters to get to polls or their elected misfits are going to be thrown out in mass. They have no wins to motivate their idiots so they must dig the old boogieman out. AGAIN. They know none of these idiotic gun restriction proposals are going to actually pass (unless Mitchy collapses).

    • “They have no wins to motivate their idiots so they must dig the old boogieman out.”

There’s also the newly established Office of Environmental Justice. I imagine they’ll use that to continue picking at the racial scab in this country. The entire point of the office isn’t to serve people in need. It’s to serve minorities. You can see where this is going.

    • Yes, “Look at this baby.” That’s all Dems can do because of the utter failure of every single one of their policies. Hopefully, he won’t get us into WW3 to deflect from his failures.

    • the public is concerned about this…right now…but that usually diminishes after a trip to the gas station or the supermarket…this issue is really all the dems have at the moment…expect them to milk it for all its worth… but the issue with the cops performance is already detracting from that….

  22. 1985 Joe Biden: “During my 12 and a half years as a member of this body, I have never believed that additional gun control or federal registration of guns would reduce crime. I am convinced that a criminal who wants a firearm can get one through illegal, nontraceable, unregistered sources, with or without gun control,” he continued.”

I guess he’s no longer 1985 Joe Biden, but 2022 Ho Bidet.

    • Amazing.

You know, 2022 is 35 years later, a lot can change in that amount of time.

The situation can change in many ways, and a prudent man is always ready to change his viewpoint in the face of complex, constantly evolving situations.

Joe Biden by nature, is not anti-gun, never was.

But things have changed in the world, and it’s reasonable to re-examine our structures and practices to more affectively provide for the common defense of the people.

      • Is it really because “things have changed”?

Or because he needs to campaign for re-election? Do you understand how politics work, miner?

Things will always change. One thing that won’t – in America – is acting like it’s a smart move to take away or limit people’s ability to defend themselves both on a personal level, and on a much bigger level in regards to government oppression.
