Last year was the Texas Firearms Festival’s debut. It was a hit! More than 2000 shooters journeyed to Best of the West Shooting Sports in Liberty Hill to sample firearms from dozens of manufacturers. In our exit poll, ninety percent of visitors said they’d be back for 2015. But we didn’t rest on our ballistic laurels. We listened to our ticket holders’ every suggestion and worked hard to solve every issue, from check-in troubles, to line length at the rifle range, to the insufficient number of retailers hawking their wares. We noticed something important at last year’s Texas Firearms Festival: new shooters. Ticket holders who’d never shot a gun before. To their credit, kind-hearted reps from mainstream manufacturers took the time to introduce newbies to the joys of shooting. Unfortunately, it was a fairly slow process. Safety is the 2015 Texas Firearms Festival’s number one priority. On November 14 and 15, when ticket holders leave Best of the West Shooting Sports with the same number of holes they arrived with, when their worst after-effect is an ongoing endorphin rush (if it lasts more than four hours, call your gun dealer), the 2015 Festival will be a success. On November 14 and 15, Shooter and VIP ticket holders (buy yours here) at the 2015 Texas Firearms Festival will get to grips with STI Guns. Which ones? “We’re bringing our full line,”Jens Krough promises. STI’s Director of Sales of Marketing says the selection will include “our 2011 and 1911 models in all shapes and sizes, some 15 to 20 guns.” That doesn’t mean that all shooters will get to shoot all of STI’s guns. Cruising this year’s SHOT Show looking for exhibitors for the 2015 Texas Firearms Festival, we happened upon Bergara Custom Rifles. We described the event to them. The Texas Firearms Festival is a hit! Last year, over 90 percent of our ticket buyers said they’d be back at Best of the West Shooting Sports for year two. To keep ’em coming to America’s premier “come and shoot it” event – held this year on November 14 and 15 – we’ve added awesome gun makers [click here for the most recent list], moved the Sportsman’s Finest Gun Store tent and the Retail Village to the center of the range (not downrange), created an Action Target/TSRA Competition Zone and improved VIP tickets (now with FastPass line-jumping privileges). Amongst other things. All based on talking to ticket holders on the day and the exit survey. One thing we heard loud and clear . . .
