They wouldn’t have heat treated the bolt carrier tail specifically if the things people said about the RAS47 were not true. They honestly should give people the option of sending back their bolt carriers.

Eh, no, not really. I mean, I get why they have a fan base. They’re reliable as a rock, the ammo is cheap, and under 300 meters, they pack a punch.
I could say all the same things about a SKS, and I don’t have one of those either.
There’s something about the ComBlock arms that, when I pick them up, I have to resist the burning desire to open them up, take some measurements, throw away the original and make them competently.
When I look at a Mauser K98 made in the closing days of the war, by slave labor even, I see better workmanship than much of the ComBlock stuff, esp. the ChiCom stuff. The early Russian examples of their arms are good workmanship, but as time goes on, the workmanship seems to suffer during this, that or some other Five Year Plan.
My matching 1938 Tula Mosin needed a new bolt head out of the box because Ivan cut the face improperly, would not close on a round. My 1944 Russian capture K98k made from mixed up parts bins shoots 2 and 1/2″ groups all day long. Your point on the superiority of western engineering is beyond valid.

I do like the look of that C308 rifle, though. A lot.
