Claire Haasl, 36, lives a few homes down from the shooting. She generally considers the neighborhood safe but said she has felt more on edge after summer 2016 when cars parked on the streets were shot up, seemingly at random. No one was reported hurt.
“There’s a heightened awareness because there are guns active in this neighborhood,” said Haasl, who’s lived in the area for about 12 years. “There’s a really solid community here in Lincoln Square, and I think it’s important to be aware that this can happen anywhere. It’s important that we don’t put our heads in the sand.”. . .
“In this neighborhood we watch out for one another,” said the woman, 40. “We call the cops when things go awry.”
Because when seconds count — and the bad guys somehow fail to shoot each other — the police are only minutes away.

It’s going to get a lot worse. A lot of our recent arrivals aren’t very strong in the ethics and citizenship departments. Various naive democrat/liberal/progressive programs will bear a very bitter fruit in the coming years.
Trust me its getting worse. I live in the burbs about 20 miles outside chiraq. I have friends on the police force in the town i live in, and they told me all the crap from chiraq is spreading out. They used to get a few dui stops, traffic stops, occasional domestic call, maybe a bar fight once in a while. The punks are stepping up their game. Just busted a drug dealer selling heroin from his house a block away from me.
As soon as i get my house back together from some water damage, its going up for sale. Packing up the wife and my dogs and moving south. And so are alot of other people i know. Illinois sucks and people have figured it out. Used to be a decent place to live but the libs have ruined it.
Those darn guns going around shooting people. If only they were passive and forced to do bad acts by outside forces so we wouldn’t have to blame them.
…you know, like how criminals are never to blame for their actions.

Well, you k’now, guns are hard to use, K? That’s why only the police should have them, because they shoot maybe a hundred rounds a year at a paper target on a square range. If you’re not one of those elite few, then you can’t possibly overcome a criminal. Every teenage gang-banger or junkie looking for a fix is actually a 10 year veteran of the SAS. And now for something funny: my dad is representing a guy who went with a group of friends to buy some weed. One of the “friends” decided to rob their drug dealer, and when my dad’s client tried to flee, his “friend” shot him in the ass. Now he’s got a bullet in his butt and an armed robbery charge.
Poor guy, not the client, your dad.

Apparently Skynet has become aware, and has activated all the guns in this neighborhood. Hopefully all the guns elsewhere are still inactive, getting fat, sitting on the couch, watching reruns of Married with Children.
