Using the hashtag #MondayMorningCZSneakPeek, CZ-USA has been showing off a 2018 new product release every Monday and will apparently continue to do so up to SHOT Show. Below, we catch you up on the last couple weeks (since the reflex suppressor announcement) and add this week’s integral CZ 455 rifles sneak peek to the mix.
CZ’s 455 is a pretty sweet rifle, meeting the accuracy requirements of any shooter while combining rimfire fun with centerfire quality. My Varmint Tacticool Suppressor-Ready is one of my favorite firearms. But “suppressor-ready” isn’t as cool as integrally suppressed, and it looks like CZ-USA intends to scratch that itch.
For an MSRP of $399, the integrally-suppressed CZ 455 barrel set will be available in at least .22 LR and .17 HMR. I’d guess a .22 WMR variant won’t be far behind. Built into the varmint profile barrel is a 7075 aluminum suppressor insert. The entire insert is threaded, allowing the user to screw baffles into it at their pre-designated locations or invent custom spacing as desired. Patented threads on the baffles cut through carbon and other fouling.
Barrel length options will be 20.9″ or 16.9″.
Definitely a unique design!
Last week CZ “dropped” the P-07 and P-09 in OD Green with Tritium night sights.
The week prior? The Scorpion Micro with a 4″ barrel, HB Industries short handguard, NoOsprey faux suppressor, and a telescoping SB Tactical arm brace. Slick.
Also posted on CZ-USA’s Instagram today: it looks like suppressor-ready P-10Cs have arrived and are headed for distribution.

Not sure if that would still qualify it as a readily convertible suppressor like the Sig MPX was. Could make the argument that the internal threads are there for “precision barrel weights” for optimum balance.

Yeah, that $399 is just for the barrel. I think they’re assuming most people will convert their existing 455 by swapping the barrels once the stamp clears. No idea yet if they’ll be selling a complete rifle with integrally suppressed barrel or selling receivers and stocks separately so you can build your own.
It’s really 600 with the tax stamp included.
Sorry man, you sold me a while ago on that sick Innovative Arms integrally suppressed M&P15-22. Excuse me while go drool at the thought . . .
That thing was CRAZY quiet! But it’s a very different beast from a milled from bar stock steel bolt action rifle. The 455 is a rimfire that really feels and looks like a high quality, well-built centerfire. The M&P15-22 is a modern rimfire that’s mostly plastic with some aluminum and a teeny bit of steel and feels like an airsoft gun in comparison. They’re great guns, don’t get me wrong, I just don’t view these two things as substitutes for each other.
Yeah, for sure. I have a 455, and it’s a nice rifle. But the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, and shooting suppressed .22 out of an AR type sounds awesome.

Idk… I’m kind of ambivalent with integrally suppressed barrels on rifles. If you think about it, you can easily get a pistol, put a Sig brace on it, then a removable suppressor and you can still have a rifle that you can shoulder that, from breach to muzzle, is still shorter than an integrally suppressed rifle.
And if you remove the suppressor, you can take the gun out of state for a hunting trip without any issues depending on state laws as not all states legalize suppressors. Plus, I can’t use an integral suppressor on any other gun, so it’s a limiting factor.

I think it can make for a nice handy rifle that is set up and ready to go. With the current state of things in the NFA world, an integrally suppressed rifle is probably not your only suppressor, nor your first, or even third. More likely down the line when you have removable cans for most of your hosts and have settled on a configuration for most of them. Take Suppressors out of NFA and suddenly you can either buy a cheap barrel and a can or just get one built in, it would definitely become more desirable. Take SBRs out too, wow then you have all kinds of options.
The 455 has interchangeable barrels (and calibers) so you can take it out of state with a not-suppressed barrel.

Repealing sbs/sbr/aow after suppressor is the next battle ground !
Those .22’s are eargensplittenloudenboomers for sure. I’d gladly spend 300$ to quiet them window rattlers down.
I can appreciate it for what it is, but I cannot get excited over 22 rimfire anything.

That’s what I thought too. They made the threads interrupted to help cut through that gunk.
