Daily Beast: Trump Being Unable to Buy a Gun at PSA is Karma for Hunter Biden…Or Something

[Trump campaign spokesperson Steven] Cheung later claimed to CNN that Trump never actually went through with the purchase—and deleted his original statement. The Daily Beast could not immediately independently confirm whether Trump finalized the deal.

The irony is that the federal law Trump appeared to almost violate is the very same one that the feds used to indict President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter.

The federal law that restricts how someone may buy or sell firearms is 18 U.S. Code § 922, the go-to statute for prosecutors seeking to imprison felons who manage to acquire guns after serving time in prison, straw purchasers who buy a gun with the specific intent to sell it to another person, and other people who aren’t allowed to acquire them. That law is why anyone buying a gun from a licensed dealer must fill out what’s called an ATF Form 4473, which asks: “Are you under indictment or information in any court for a felony, or any other crime for which the judge could imprison you for more than one year, or are you a current member of the military who has been charged with violation(s) of the Uniform Code of Military?”

Answer “yes,” and no gun shop can legally sell you a gun. Trump, who is facing criminal charges across the eastern seaboard, would have to answer in the affirmative.

Republicans—and Trump in particular—have been calling on the Department of Justice to hold Hunter Biden accountable for violating the same statute, in his case, for lying about drug use on that form.

    • Numerous states put restrictions on guns if you’re under indictment too. Often making it a felony if you possess guns while under indictment for a variety of offenses.

      Drugs charges and felonies are common places for this to take effect.

  3. The video I saw was of Trump stating that there was one that he liked and a series of photos including one that had his likeness engraved. I never saw in it where he actually purchased anything (at all).

    This is the kind of stupidity that I talked about in the previous article. The hatred and the degree of Trump Derangement Syndrome runs deep on the left and in the media. Lies, distortions, and fabrications are what is said. Facts don’t matter.

    Now if someone (anyone) can show proof that he purchased something there then let’s see the evidence. Show us a picture of naked Trump holding that gun. If you can’t do that then the rest of it is just ridiculous.

          Scantily clad or semi nude women with guns was a feature of the Annual calendar, put out by conservative radio host G. Gordon Liddy in the 1990s.

          He sold tens of thousands of these calendars to young and old heterosexual gun owning men.

          And hundreds of young conservative scantily clad women, submitted their photographs holding their guns to his staff for their review. Hoping they would be selected to be in his calendar.

    • Not proof, but his campaign spokesman said he bought one, before deleting the statement. At best, it’s poor control of communications.

      • Unless he has a South Carolina photo ID, he can’t buy one in South Carolina. He could theoretically pay for it and have it transferred to a Florida FFL (assuming he is a Florida resident versus NY). He would fail the background check while under indictment, though.

      I think it’s clear he bought the gun, and once it was pointed out that it was illegal the public story changed, “backtracked and clarified”.

          They were both there when Trump received the firearm, they both stated on their live stream that they can confirm that Donald Trump got the Glock pistol there and Marge actually shows a picture of the transaction on her cell phone.

          So now we have trumps official campaign spokesman, and a serving Republican member of Congress along with her bedmate stating publicly that Donald Trump received a Glock firearm at the South Carolina gun dealers establishment, a clear violation of federal law as he is under felony indictment.

          Spin it how you will, as they say, shit happens.

          But I bet DJT went home with the Glock…

  7. TRUMP 2024 did not fill out a 4473 so lying is not part of the equation like it was with hunter biden whose idea of firearm responsibility and safe storage is drug use and throwing a firearm in a dumpster.

    I applaud TRUMP 2024 for visiting PSA, it sent a discouraging message to the Gun Control Inc.

      There’s no surprises here, just today a New York Superior Court judge officially found that Donald Trump is a fraud:

      The term of a president is 4 years. That’s enough time to do quite a lot of damage. As we see with Biden. For this reason, being a single issue voter is just ridiculous. How many times have we all seen our elected leaders say one thing and then do another? I’m not worried about him selling out.

      Biden is not fit for office and should be under the care of a doctor. Many of the Democrat left should be behind bars. No one in this race makes more sense than Trump.

  12. Isn’t Trumps official/legal residence in Florida? if so, he couldn’t have purchased any handgun in SC. He could ask to have one sent to an FFL in his home state etc. but could not make final purchase or have the 4473 filed there. He, as do all out of state purchasers, would be required to fill out the form and have the BG run in his state of residence. As the dealer/sales person would have informed him and as anyone with 2 working brain cells as a reporter should have known.
    As for any of the other foolishness in the above discussions, well, the internet is forever and anything published is available. What may have been done in a photo shoot 20 or more years ago mean little today. As for porn today, well, if someone has so little self respect to be involved in it, then there will always be someone fool enough to pay to see it.

  17. He has Secret Service protection so he really doesn’t need a weapon, unless he is doing an insurrection which is defined as an organized and often violent attempt to overthrow a government. Any evidence of such a thing happening?
    Too bad lying is acceptable especially in Congress. It seems the standards set by law only apply to citizens NOT in power and are deemed too stupid to do anything except vote.
