The rest of this exclusive rifle chambered in 5.56mm NATO is all M4A1 RIII and includes the features beloved by military and law enforcement customers, including a 14.5” Cold Hammer Forged Barrel; a reliable Mid-length gas system; ambidextrous safety, magazine release, and bolt catch; a GRIP-N-RIP Charging Handle; and a lightweight but durable 12.5” RIS III rail/handguard with popular M-LOK attachment.   2. The 14.5″ barrel probably has a permanently attached flash hider that IMO screws up the whole shebang. Instead of accessorizing it with what is a senseless Big Brother Gun Controlled barrel it would have been better and frankly more respectful to go 16″ CHF.

    • True, it looks like an extended flash hider made for pin and weld. They seem to be specifically going for a SOCOM aesthetic. Why do you think a 16″ would be more “respectful”?

      • Eric…A 16″ barrel does not come with any ridiculous, pain in the azz atf strings attached. The people the rifle is intended for deserve better than an insult to their intelligence barrel that is IMO ruined with a fixed flash hider.

      the M4 has a 14.5 inch barrel and this is focused on personal ownership sales to those who are military/retired/veterans which means to make it legal needs a 16 inch barrel to keep out of NFA territory which means a pinned-welded muzzle device to bring the 14.5 inch barrel to the civilian legal 16 inches. so maybe that’s it.

      I built one with a 14.5 inch barrel and pinned-welded a longer flash hider to make it 16 inch. doesn’t affect the ballistics a bit and shoots what I feed it just fine.

        • Art, that reminds me of a funny story. A friend of mine was teaching a patrol carbine class to a bunch of working Leo’s. Someone questioned Mark about the 14.5″ vs 16″ thing. (Unless the agency owns it is a NFA firearm). Many Leo’s provide their on firearms. I did. Anyway, the question. Mark replied, “An inch and half doesn’t really make any difference.” The lone woman in the class said, “Oh, you’d be suprised.” Thousand one, thousand two…and the room exploded.

      • I like my Springfield Hellion. I like my pistol caliber AR platform carbines, even built a few. I don’t think they are worthless – either one will take down a bad guy and they are fun to shoot.

        • If you shoot hollow points in it, you lessen the danger of over penetration. Better for those that live close to others.

          Number of well respected trainers have changed their minds on them lately.

    • When I want one one the lowers I make, or one manufactured by a company, laser engraved/etched I take them to a company here locally that does it for me.

  7. So now law enforcement gets to pay $2200 for a mil-spec trigger, plastic sights, and plastic sling?

      • The military market is fickle so they’ll likely pay for it eventually… it’s the same mentality that led to Colt’s last 2 bankruptcies.
