A few months ago I spent some time with the guys at ITI doing pistol training to prep for the FNH USA 3-gun National Championship. The course was all about competition pistol training, but the main focus of their business is on the private security and military market and they offer a ton of interesting classes to satisfy those customers. Classes like evasive driving and firearms train on machine guns. To be honest, I was kicking myself the whole time I was there that I didn’t hold out for one of the more exciting classes instead of competition pistol. The good news is that Living Social has a deal today that lets you experience the better parts of those classes (driving cars really fast and shooting machine guns) for a fraction of what it would normally cost, AND they throw in free BBQ lunch! If I hadn’t moved to Texas I would be all over this.

Check it out if you live near Virginia by clicking this link. Make the jump for the full presser.

SHACKLEFORDS, VA  (March 2012) – G4S International Training, Inc. (ITI), a training company of G4S, and providers of benchmark security training programs to the U.S. Government, U.S. Military and corporate America, today officially launched the “Extreme Driving + Weapon Training: The Ultimate Adrenaline Rush” through LivingSocial Adventures. This Adventure, lasting 4 to 5 hours, allows the participant to experience the G4S ITI driving course and range time.

Participants arrive at 10:30 a.m. and are split in half with one group at the driving course while the second group is at the shooting range. The groups will switch locations halfway through the day and lunch will be served at the end of both activities.

The driving course consists of ramming, high speed backing, PIT and “J” – Turns. Once all participants have learned the maneuvers, they will be placed into a scenario that will incorporate what they have just learned. The instructor will drive the participants through the scenario for three reasons: safety, ease of time and so the students will get the dramatic effect of the vehicle maneuvers.

Ultimate Adrenaline RushThe range time consists of live fire range work, as well as scenario-based training at the shoot house.  Live fire range work consists of firing a total of 60 rounds and participants will fire an M4, MP5 Sub Machine Gun and a GLOCK® 17. Every participant will be able to shoot 20 rounds out of each firearm at multiple targets. The shoot house consists of groups going in and “defusing” a situation, where two instructors will accompany the group to the door of the shoot house. The group will make entry into the building and participate in Force on Force encounters.

  1. Am I the only one who sees “Shacklefords” on a gun board and is then surprised it doesn’t involve a Larry Correia novel?

  2. Looks very interesting! Are their classes set up for athletic young folks or can an old fat slow guy with a limp get something out of this? I ask, because this is about a 8 hour drive for me

  3. Thanks for the heads up! I’m going April 28th with a few guys from work, it should be awesome! This deal is moving pretty fast, they’ve sold over 450 since this morning.
