Unless you’ve been exploring the depths of the Mariana Trench or gazing at the northern lights in Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland, you’re probably aware that many of our most outspoken paragons of virtue and supporters of feminist ideals have been busy groping unconscious entertainers and attending meetings in their skivvies. While various Democrat leaders have been furiously backing and filling, trying to save the jobs of their libertine colleagues, the dam seems about to break.

Just today, none other than San Fran Nan herself along with other Dems called for Michigan’s John Conyers to throw in the towel…or at least wrap one around his waist the next time he gathers his office staff.

Conyers is the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee…or he was until he stepped down on Monday in the face of a growing ethics investigation over payments he allegedly made to shut up some of his female victims accusers. That means he wasn’t there yesterday when the Judiciary Committee debated and then passed a concealed carry reciprocity bill.

Will Conyers bow to the mounting pressure and quit? The odds seem to be increasingly tilting that way. What will that mean for the never-ending fight to preserve and protect the right to keep and bear arms?

Reader and Michigander, John D. Dingell III, who knows a thing or two about politics in the mitten, writes:

Departure of Conyers from the House will be a mixed blessing for gun owners. Conyer’s replacement will probably be less anti gun, but more energetic. Might even be modestly pro gun. Preachers in Detroit are becoming pro gun and will dominate his replacement election.

Conyers has been addled for 15 years and a captive of his staff during this period of senescence.  Conyers despises gun owners, but was lazy before he was addled. Didn’t do much and occupied a critical position on Judiciary. Couldn’t even properly intimidate witnesses, the most important function of a ranking member or chairman.

New ranking member will undoubtedly be more effective against us.

It won’t surprise you to learn that the new Judiciary ranking member — New York’s Jerrold Nadler, whose district covers parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn — is no friend of the RKBA. And so it goes.

  1. I don’t see Conyers’ district electing anybody but another anti-gun Dem.

But he’d be an anti-gun Dem with a lot less power and seniority than Conyers has.

    • That’s right! Hopefully! Conyers can slip it back in, and zip up his pants. Then another Dem can zip open their pants, and get right into Conyers position, inside the state of Michigan.

  2. It’s like the Sith. They ain’t gone, and they try desparately to convert our best citizens into someone that’ll use unusual power and skill to kill adults and small children in cold blood.

  3. Well at 88 years old, Conyers was due to go one way or another. Soon too, Di Fi, at 84, will be visited by the hooded sickle wielder. Look for her next bill to ban sickles…

  4. Gee – if only we could find a few young men (or women) who could reasonably claim that DiFi or Pelosi had abused them in some way.

  5. “…in the face of a growing ethics investigation over payments he allegedly made to shut up some of his female accusers.”

Unless I’m misunderstanding the process, the Honorable Representative from Michigan has not made any payments to his accusers. We the taxpayers have.

    • The only payment disclosed to date was on a wrongful termination claim, not a sexual harassment claim, and it was a pittance (about $25,000 afaik), all things being equal.

  6. Please have the door hit this guy hard in the butt on the way out.
He is a large part of the swamp and his unwelcome stay by me is long over due to end.

  7. “Departure of Michigan’s John Conyers Would Be a Mixed Blessing for Gun Rights”

Don’t forget about franken, he’s about to get kicked to the curb too…

    • Id love to see Frakken kicked to the curb and then some. For are friends in Minnisoda you sure elect some klownz. Ex Pro wrestler for Gubbner for example.
But if he does get kicked so will alot of other Dims for similar reasons. Being behind the eight-ball as they are. They wont allow him to resign and open a floodgate of Dims forced out for the same reasons. Its all politics not reasonable reactions.

  8. Yeah, with a face like that, Jerry Nadler is bound to have women accusing him of sexual misconduct.

  9. Once Conyers is gone (he says he’s not running for re-election), his district will simply elect yet another grifter to office. And then the constituents, totally baffled, will wonder why they haven’t advanced in 50 years.

    Stupid much?

  10. I look forward to asking the white Jewish Jerry Nadler why he supports the nazi gun control laws in the USA. Specifically the 1968 gun control act copied from nazi document’s.

I will hold white jews accountable just as I have held black liberals accountable. This black conservative gun owner does not discriminate.

  11. John D. Dingell III — I take it he’s related to John Dingell, Jr., a Democrat. And III is a reader?

  12. It’s not just the Democrats – stop trying to politicize it. Politicians from across the ENTIRE political spectrum are proving that they’re nothing more than depraved sexual predators. Need I remind you of Ray Moore or the Cheeto-in-chief?

  13. Watching northern lights in Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland?

Man, you have no idea how much it sucks to be unemployed there!
