  1. I had a Charter arms .38 back in the 80s. It was the gun I carried the last time I was in Chicago. That place sucked then.

    I never had any trouble with mine. I understand Charter had some hit or miss QC. But mine and my friends worked fine.

    • You can reload two at a time with the strip, with practice. Having a gap between the pairs makes it easier.

      • I can load two at a time just fine without a gap. I don’t think the gap is worth the loss of two rounds. If you get four in and don’t have time for more, just … stop.

        • Two rounds. It’s a six-round speed strip and he’s got four rounds in it. Yes, you can only load to five, but you can reload the sixth round at any time after that when you have fired.

  3. Never seen that pocket shield before. Interesting. Is that just for hanging clipped items on or it supposed to be an anti-print device used next to a pocket holster?

    • According to their website, both.

      It’s an interesting item but I kind of feel that it’s a solution in want of a problem.

      • If it solves the problem of multiple items trying to occupy the same space in the bottom of my pocket, then it’s the solution I’m after. I gotta look into getting one of those.

        • Based on their website I suspect it would work for your purposes for a light, knife etc. That said, the unit requires that your items have a clip on them, a pocket clip which seems to me like it makes this product redundant.

          You’ve got pockets and pocket clips if you’re using this thing, so why add more stuff to your pockets when you could just use the clips as intended?

      • It might be handy if you want to be discreet about all your clipped stuff, or just look neater if you are wearing dress pants or whatever and you don’t want all that stuff visible at the mouth of your pocket. I used to carry a wallet in the same front pocket I had my small flashlight clipped on, and every now and then I dislodged the flashlight while pulling out my wallet and the light would hit the ground.. Most of the dings I have on my Surefire E1b flashlight are from doing that. I went back to rear pocket wallet carry and got a skinnier EDC light. I sometimes carry a spare mag holder in the same front pocket and I occasionally scrap my pinky knuckle on my clipped light trying to reach into my pocket quickly to practice reloads. This doodad looks might make it easier to carry stuff like a wallet or mag holder on the opposite side of the shield that all the stuff is hanging on, and keep the pocket opening unobstructed. I’d have to try it to know, but it does look handy.
