the Virginian carries the diminutive gat in a holster. I look at it like this . . .
The Ruger LCP is the perfect pocket pistol.
It’s small, thin and small. And thin! And a lot more than merely accurate –.380 not presenting the recoil issues that degrades a shooter’s ability to put rounds where he or she wants. As the target below more-or-less demonstrates. [Lousy shooter, slow fire, seven yards.]
I can’t think of a better gun to holster in your front pants pocket; an important option for stealth minded gun guys and gals wearing a minimal or body-clinging wardrobe.
As this is the Land of the Free — New Jersey, Hawaii and other anti-gun states excepted — you’re free to holster the Ruger LCP on your belt. But if you’re going to carry that way, why not carry a bigger gun?
I’m not a ballistic size queen, but I adhere to a simple principle: schlep the largest handgun you can carry comfortably.
Once you’re going with a belt-mounted holster, carrying a handgun with a bit more heft and yes, significantly more width than the light ‘n thin LCP won’t add significant discomfort.
But it will add capability. More capacity, a better grip, better sights, a better sight radius, a larger caliber and equally good or better accuracy (especially during adrenaline charged rapid fire). Yes?
Pocket carry without a holster is asking for an Irresponsible Gun Owner award… That’s a pocket holster, isn’t it? Looks like a nice one.
Pretty sure it isn’t a pocket holster, it has nothing to hook onto the pocket and the top edge appears to be elevated from the table, implying a clip or loop. At least that’s what it looks like to me.
I see what you’re saying, but the squareness of it makes me think of a pocket holster. Maybe a convertible?
In any case I know a guy who carries a Glock 43 OWB. To each his own.

It’s pretty good. I’m not sure if they make it anymore though. They may have stopped manufacturing that one in favor of the VX-6R/7R.
Either way, I’ve used Yaesu hand-held radios for years and liked them for their price point.

You have to be careful – I have heard Yaesu is starting to outsource their low-line radio manufacturing in China.
One of their HTs is a clone of Baofeng *gag*.
(This one looks like it’s a proper Japanese. I haven’t had a chance to play with that particular one, but it I have heard a serviceable general coverage HF receiver is crammed in there, given a few feet of wire to dangle. And it has a usable broadcast band AM ‘loopstick’ antenna in there…)
Ehhh. I personally dont see much difference with accuracy between the LCP II and the gen 2 LCP.
Additionally, i saw no difference in the accuracy between a standard Gen 2 LCP and an LCP custom.
I could should a little faster with the custom and maintain accuracy but we are talking a tenth of second for 7 shots.
Since the LCP is notably cheaper than an LCPII, i think it is the better deal. 4 or 5 boxes of Geco 380 from Aim Surplus for the price difference

Glock G43 is usually the primary but there have been times when I’ve carried one LCP AIWB and another IWB on the support side hip. I see the pocket carry point but a firearm like the LCP quite literally disappears under almost any cover garment.
More and more, though, it’s a 642 Airweight that is in the support side role. I have occasionally limp-wristed when shooting one handed with the support hand with the LCP. And if it is a one-hand situation it’s hard to do remedial action like that!
Not a snubbie problem.
And I can’t quite tell, that looks like it might be a VX2, which they don’t make any more…I’ve never seen a Yaesu VX3 in the flesh.
I’ve seen this quite often on the pocket dumps. What a wristwatch got to do with a pocket dump?
I paid 170 for a brand new Gen 2 LCP. I was blown away by the trigger, it’s actually very crisp and light compared to the original LCP and LC9. For 170 you can’t beat it. I would like to have the option of switching out the sights but that’s my only gripe.
For pocket carry I use the holster but if I am carrying IWB I carry a Shield or Glock 17. The best thing about the LCP is you have zero excuse for not carrying 24/7.

Ironicatbest, “ pocket dump” is a generic term, for all the gear guys/gals carry around ,so you’ll see watches , and rings.
Btw over on the Usuall Suspects Network, there is a pocket dump thread nearing , 3,000 pages ! A ton of custom guns , knives and even custom or “ modeled flashlights , high end watches and top of the line photos, makes these guys seem like pikers .
