We’ve made our case for attending the 2015 Texas Firearms Festival on November 14 or 15 at Best of the West Shooting Sports in Liberty Hill. (We thank TTAG readers for their patience with these posts.) All that’s left to say is . . . come and shoot it! OK we’ll be posting three more times before the first day of the Festival, with some important news for veterans tomorrow. But really, this is it: your last few chances to click here and buy your tickets in advance – if you haven’t done so already. We look forward to meeting you on the day, and/or seeing you next year.

  1. I gotta hand it to you, Texas, your governor is pretty badass — and real friendly, to boot. (My state’s gov is a progressive weenie who ordered all state colleges to stop using the word “freshmen” because it has “men” in it.)

I wish I could go to the TFF, cause it sounds like it’d be a blast and I really don’t want to disappoint Governor Perry, but there’s that little matter of 1900 miles between here and Austin…

  2. Surprised people aren’t making comments about Gov. Perry using the mag well for grip. He is much cooler than Gov. Snyder. Again 1400 mile trip wouldn’t be too bad except I’d rather be deer hunting! Life is full of choices… I’ve made mine.

    • That’s how a whole lot of us were trained to do it. I still revert to that sometimes. Old habits die real hard.

    • Nothing, but the “new way” is to hold the gun as far out to control recoil for followup shots. A lot of commenters are quick to shout things like that out.
