If I am going to shoot at night, I use proper night vision equipment. Either thermal or IR. Or an old Starlight scope. Strapping a flashlight to my weapon always seemed silly. Why let a potential opponent or critter, 2 or 4 legged, know where I’m at.
Depending on where you are and what you’re shooting at, NVGs might not be legal.

Well-mannered little fellow, left the shells in a neat pile and didn’t mess with the flowerpots, didn’t take a dump anywhere close by. Quite unlike the rowdy coons we get now and then. Sent more than a hundred pounds of them to the landfill one year. Anyhow, saw the poor little guy spread out on the road yesterday morning. This is F150 country, maybe a chaser of Kenworth. Sad.
