Let’s hope our Irresponsible Gun Owner of the Day has a full recovery even as he realizes that his gun rights—such as they are in The True North—won’t.
In Canada, starting the engine while the gun had a mag attached (or rounds in a fixed mag or tube), let alone a round in the chamber, is already a crime.
Correction: having a loaded firearm in or on a vehicle is an offense in Canada. Doesn’t matter if it’s running or not.

anyway, there is no maybe about the fact that this was not an “accident” or anything similar. this was negligence and failure to follow safety rules that protect a$$holes like him and responsible people like most of the rest of us.
