IMI ammo on sale at Midway

IMI Ammunition sponsors TTAG’s Quote of the Day and provides gun food for our reviews. No cash changes hands. Just ammo. And lots of it. That said, the Israeli ammunition manufacturer is NOT ammo-ing us for this post. I’m sharing Midway’s discount offer for IMI’s 5.56x45mm M193 rounds because we’ve had nothing but excellent results shooting IMI ammo. It’s been faultlessly clean, completely reliable and plenty accurate. You could do a lot worse and it’s hard to see how you could do much better. And at this price, it’s a gnbenen (steal). Click here to buy. You won’t regret it.

  1. Yeah, if only it wasn’t Midway USA who still can’t get their shit together and keep both my DL and FOID on file. Good ammo, horrible retailer.

    • I’am having the same problem, placed a order in June that went through but tried yesterday and they don’t have my DL and FOID on file.
I wouldn’t buy from them they are the only ones that have what I want in stock.

    • I love my brown box IMI, but I’m pretty sure this green box stuff is made in Canada or something, not Israel. I’m seeing way too many reports on midway and elsewhere of problems with this ammo. I have never seen a single negative report of any kind of brown box imported IMI of any caliber.

Would seriously recommend getting your IMI from sgammo. It’s the real mil spec.

      • Funny, you should mention that. My AR Pistol hated (for the brief time I owned it) IMI green box. Constant FTF and stovepipes. It would consume everything else, just not this stuff.

    • Holy shit. Pigs are flying. S&B has come out with a FMJ round for 6.5 creedmore and sgammo is selling it for about .55 cents a round.

Time to add a 6.5 chambered ar-10 to my ruger precision. At this price competition guys are just gonna flock to 6.5

      • Considering SGAmmo has had their entire web store inventory offline for several days how you just came to this conclusion today and posted it here puzzles me. Oh wait, you’re just Astroturfing.

        • They only took it down a day cause they got overwhelmed with California orders. It’s back up during their vacation with a limited inventory of cases and stuff they have large amounts of.

Just put in my order for 2 cases of the fmj. Won’t ship till next year, but I’m not missing out on this deal.

  2. IMI is good stuff. I’m partial to Wolf Gold for my M193 needs. IMI’s 69 grain razorcore is the tits for long range work though.

  3. Shipping kills the deal. Check gun dot deals coupon code for items (mostly knifes and knife accessories) that you actually get for free if you buy at the same time.

    • You’re just not very creative. You can ship a sets of 15 boxes of 30 (total 450 rounds) for $3.00 if you add an item with free shipping to your order like this survival saw: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/611167/ust-wire-survival-saw-stainless-steel

How does $3 of shipping per 450 rounds kill the deal? So buy two sets and you get 900 rounds of ammo + a survival saw for $228.77. That’s $0.254 a round, or about $0.05 cheaper after shipping than anyone else for the same IMI ammo.

    • I just bought some and shipping certainly doesn’t kill it. Shipping would have to be 90$ in order to “kill the deal.” Shipping was 13$ which is normal to low for ordering ammo online.

  4. DAMNIT! I just spent $200 on ammo at Sportsman’s Warehouse, including 200rds of M193! Grrr… (price was really good, but not that good)

  5. DAMNIT! I just spent $200 on ammo at Sportsman’s Warehouse, including 200rds of M193! Grrr… (price was really good, but not that good)

  6. Heads up! Midway is no longer shipping ammo to California in anticipation of the new law going into effect on January 1st.
