A joint resolution of disapproval introduced on Wednesday in the U.S. Senate seeks to block the Biden Administration’s Final Rule that outlaws  most private sales by changing the definition of who is “engaged in the business” of selling firearms.

The measure was introduced by Texas Sen. John Cornyn, North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis and 43 other Senate Republicans. According to the sponsors, the Final Rule violates the Constitution in trying to require anyone who sells a firearm to register as a federal firearm licensee.

“This rule is proof that the Biden administration is a dishonest broker, and Congress must hold it accountable for its actions in favor of its gun-grabbing liberal base over the Constitutional rights of law-abiding Americans,” Sen. Cornyn said in a press release announcing the legislation. “We will fight this lawless rule tooth and nail to ensure the God-given right to keep and bear arms is preserved and this flagrant distortion of congressional intent of our landmark mental health and school safety law is struck down.”

Sen. Tillis is equally concerned, calling the Final Rule “outrageous” and an “overreach.”

“It is outrageous that the Biden Administration decided to take a good faith effort to curb the mental health crisis across our country and turn it into an unconstitutional attempt to restrict firearms from law-abiding American citizens,” Rep. Tillis said. “This overreach is exactly why Republicans don’t trust this Administration, and it will set back any attempt on future bipartisan legislation as long as President Biden is in office. I encourage my colleagues to support this CRA we introduced and immediately overturn this ridiculous regulation.”

Calling the Final Rule an attempt by the Biden Administration to force “universal” background checks when Congress won’t pass such a measure, the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has announced that it strongly supports the resolution.

“The rule ignores Congress’ requirements left unchanged by the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) that a dealer is one who devotes time, attention and labor to dealing in firearms as a regular course of trade or business through the repetitive purchase and resale of firearms,” Lawrence G. Keane, NSSF senior vice president and general counsel said. “All Congress changed was that the conduct need not be for purpose of earning a livelihood, just that it is predominantly to earn a profit. The Biden administration has repeatedly shown its willingness to run roughshod over the Constitution to attack the fundamental rights of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms.”

Georgia Rep. Andrew Clyde is leading the effort to pass the resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives.

“The ATF’s ‘engaged in the business’ rule represents President Biden’s latest attempt to institute universal background checks, advance the Left’s radical gun control agenda and infringe on Americans’ Second Amendment rights,” Rep. Clyde said. “Private citizens simply shouldn’t be forced to jump through unelected, anti-gun bureaucrats’ unconstitutional hurdles to engage in lawful firearms transactions. I look forward to leading this critical CRA in the House, and I urge my colleagues in both chambers to support our measure to stop the Biden Administration’s tyranny in its tracks.”

  1. So the RINO Cornyn is unhappy with the Biden regime? After holding hands with Dims & “compromising” our rights? Yer a hoot🙄

  2. Cornyn is such a f*ing weenie. Something about horses and barn doors, you doofus.

  3. Cornyn creates the problem so he can oppose the problem (with that sell out Roy Blunt from Missouri)
Cornyn, same guy who files interstate reciprocity every election cycle but never pushes for it…

    • It’s a fundraising tactic. McCain lied about opposing ACA. He suckered people out of donations, then he saved it.

  4. Is Mr.Corny up for re-election? That would explain his passionate attempt at a losing cause. I guess it’s better than a kick in the Nadler.

  5. If it weren’t for short-term memories and blind partisanship more politicians would be set on fire.

    • No one has ever lost significant money betting against the public when it comes to doing smart things in election years.

John Eastman, a former attorney for former president Donald Trump, pleaded not guilty on Friday to charges related to a conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election results in Arizona.

Eastman is among over a dozen Trump allies who were charged in the state last month, including former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani and former Trump aide Boris Epshteyn.“

      • Still defending biden after his daughters #metoo revelations, miner?

You fascists loves you some pedos.

        • You expect folks with integrity to accept those statements as authentic?
Perhaps you should research the term ‘chain of custody’ before making a decision about the validity of any claim.

There is a reason why Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, et al are not featuring the ‘diary’ or ‘laptop’ contents on every show.

Perhaps when a ‘victim’ steps forward and files an actual complaint…

          • Yessir. Double standards are your stock in trade. The victim is terrified. As well she should be.

You truly are a disgusting pos, miner.

But you are a fascist. So that’s part of your very being.

          • MajorLiar,

Nice try, halfwit – Ashley has already confirmed that the diary IS hers and it IS authentic. Sucks to be you, trying to defend a lying, plagiarizing, raping, senile pedophile (who was an idiot BEFORE he became senile), You’d effing defend Adolf Hitler if he had a (D) after his name, you soulless, lying, propagandizing partisan clown.

            • You’d effing defend Adolf Hitler if he had a (D) after his name

I’ve noticed that most of them are all about tyranny…as long as it’s a left-winger doing it.

      • Militant atheist quoting scripture out of context, TDS of mediocre quality, borderline TLDR.

      • You don’t believe in Jesus Christ and yet you quote scripture? I’m trying to think of a word that explains that.

Nevermind I don’t care. I told you before Miner when you die your next waking moment will be before the Lord Jesus Christ and you will bend a knee. I would be remiss if I didn’t ask you to believe and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

And yes miner my mouth betrays me all of the time. Cursing and hating on those that want to destroy this country, but believe me Jesus Christ is my Saviour and he could be yours as well.

      • Sat evening. Why is Miner bothering the adults? Should be getting ready for his next encounter with an illegal alien boy.

        • neiowa,

It’s MajorLiar’s standard MO – sneak around and take cheap, lying shots when he thinks no one’s looking, then run away like the pusillanimous, lying p*ssy that he is when he gets called out.

      • Named him after a man of the cloth
        Called him Amos Moses
He could eat up his weight in groceries

  6. Cornyn is doing his re-election routine again. He supports all gun control then does a reverse for election year.

Rinse, repeat, gets re-elected. Hey Texas, are you guys serious?

  7. So Cornyn, Tillis, and 43 of the 47 other Republicrats signed a “joint resolution” – big effing deal. How about the other four RINOs, the three “independents”, and at least a couple of “The Unifying Party” also putting their signatures on it?
This is just eyewash to appease the voters with an IQ of ten or less -and it will work for it’s intended purpose.

  8. The definition of “Dealer” should be altered to:
“Any person or entity deciding to transfer ownership or possession of any firearm, under any circumstance, for any reason, must first obtain a Federal Firearms License, renewed with every transfer of possession/ownership. ‘Gifting’ of firearms is utterly forbidden without an FFL”

Can I get a sponsor for this legislation?

    • “Umm, I’m not to good at spelings or thout trains staying on a trak, so if youd wright it down four me (BIG – in crayon ) I’ll signe it as an Xecutiv order “

      • “….so if youd wright it down four me (BIG – in crayon ) I’ll signe it as an Xecutiv order “

        Fresh owtta karens Crayons.

      • And don’t forget the WEF. All of these Warmonger RINO McCains in Congress are cut from the same NeoCon cloth.

  9. So the imbecile that caused the problem now expects an attaboy and a pat on the back when he comes up with some lame fix that will not fix the problem he created in the first place? the next time Republicans have control of the government they need to repeal the gun control Act, the National Firearms act, the Firearms owners protection act of 1986, and the safer communities Act. they then need to pass gun legislation that is modeled on the Civil Rights Act.

  10. Since it’s not proposing a Constitutional Amendment, it requires POTUS to sign it or enough votes to override a veto since there ain’t no way they’ll let this linger on Biden’s desk for 10 days while Congress is in session.

Theater. Par for the course theater.

If Trump wins later this year nothing of any significance will change for the country because the GOP will not change significantly just because Trump gets back into the White House.

The GOP will remain a majority of backstabbing liars regardless of the outcome later this year.

I’m just wondering how long it’s going to take for the older folks to realize that we’re not in Kansas any more and that they’re first on the block as things fall apart.

    • The dog Toto was originaly cast with a Dachshund.
They had to change that because he kept confusing Dorthy’s beaver as a badger.
      Not.
It had to do with WW2 and a German dog.

      • Older folks,,, yup, I found out all about how “the system” cares about old folks when 2hours in jail got me denied my medicare.
How fcking stupid, they send a letter in the mail to my home address.
You can no longer recieve Medicare while you are incarcerated. ??
Old Uncle Sam sure jumped on that in a hurry.
        Damn the Computer Blues.

      • Rin Tin Tin? That was WWI though.

What’s the point of sending you such a letter? If you can read it, you’re no longer in jail…?

Also, shouldn’t you have been at the pound?
