  1. And what the hell is a "high-powered rifle". Every time someone shoots someone else it is always a "high powered rifle" or worse yet, the "high-powered assault rifle." Well one of the defining characteristics of true assault rifles is that the are relatively low-powered so as to be controllable on full-auto. The semi-automatic sporting rifles that are cosmetically similar to assault rifles generally fire the same low powered cartridge, typically the puny 5.56 NATO or the dog slow 7.62×39. Anything less than .30-06 is actually low powered, and .30-06 is actually middling.

And shouldn't it be energy, not power?

    • i know its a little late to answer your question but my stated defines high powered rifle as any rifle that is not rim fire.(the definitions for my state is strictly to regulate hunting not the firearms)

  2. Old, but still very true and funny. I have seen Smith and Springfields, Semi-auto machine guns and lots of other idiocy.

  3. Boston TV recently carried a story about the local constabulary confiscating a "TEC-9 semiautomatic machine gun."

    You can't fix stoopid.
