Maxim Defense Industries is proud to announce the launch of their new direct impingement large frame MD:11 series, a rifle based on the SR-25 cut pattern.
“The MD:11 is an updated variant of the original Stoner AR-10 design. The Direct impingement system still functions like most. There has been no serious change to the inside of the upper receiver; the gas tube forces all that gas into a key screwed atop the bolt carrier group. The gas expands inside the BCG, forcing it backwards into the buffer tube. There is no ‘chamber,’ but more of a diversion like the original design.”
The MD:11 will be available in 6.5 Creedmoor or .308 Winchester utilizing an 18 in. Proof Research carbon fiber or stainless-steel barrel. Using these barrels keeps the weight down to just 9lbs. This weapon was initially designed for United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) requirements. However, once the decision was made to commercialize the SOCOM requirement (within limits), 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Winchester were deemed the best calibers.
It also comes standard with a carbine buffer system, B5 SOPMOD stock, and utilizes the Gisselle SSA-E trigger. Initially, they are available in three colors; Urban, Arid, and Black.

My POF Revolution checks in at 6.8 pounds, for a DI 308. Of course, it was backordered for a year, but I eventually got it.
So jealous. What barrel length you go with? I’ve been setting aside the pennys for the POF Rogue. Hopefully this year but that remains to be seen. ☹
16″. Don’t know much about the Rogue. Been looking for the perfect battle rifle for 20 years, I think I may have finally found it. All my former choices are profiled on YouTube at FullHouseOutfitters.

“If you have to ask..” doesn’t always apply in the gun industry. Some of these companies ask for outrageous prices for their products. FNH SCAR or HK MR762 both for over $3500 for examples. Or Daniel Defense and Colt who want $1000 for mil spec rifle dressed in A2 attire.
Even being able to afford these things I find their prices silly.
you are correct. The prices in the gun world can be really ridiculous.
I asked a vendor at a gun show once why their rifles were so expensive. He of course ran down a list of things, materials and the ‘mil-spec’ blah blah blah … pretty much common to most AR’s but then he got to the “our proven quality” and “their” manufacturing processes. Their rifle was $$2,000.00 and some change. It was a nice looking rifle, well made, nothing wrong with it at all except the price. I nodded dutifully like one is expected to do to be courteous, thanked him for the information. I then walked across the isle to another vendor and purchased for $1,200.00 less an AR that was identical to the more expensive rifle I had just been told about except it didn’t have the more expensive rifle brand on it. Have put a little over 10,000 rounds through that rifle over the years and never a moments problem with it.
Turned out, the “our proven quality” and “their” manufacturing processes for the more expensive rifle was that of the same source as the less expensive rifle I purchased. An Anderson Manufacturing upper and lower, just branded for the vendor company instead of the Anderson branding – turns out Anderson manufacturers a lot of uppers and lowers under contract for various companies and puts the contract company brand on it.
I don’t know about a Colt but a DD is NOT equivalent to a $600 M&P/etc.
Neiowa, currently the cheapest rifle on DD website is $1800. I can not find any benefits the DD rifle has over a $1000 M&P. Infact the opposite, for $1000 the M&P has a 5R Melonite accurized barrel vs the chrome lined DD barrel. If you really want a stinger go look at PWS. For $1800 you actually get what you are paying for. Match trigger, long stroke piston, fluted buffer tube, adjustable gas block, more than just a name and tan rifle XD
Wow that’s a really cool riffle, I like it.
Will it suffer from fuel shroud leaks, #2 engine hydraulic leaks, random events requiring you to do the MD reset – turn it off and back on, etc etc etc.
