No one wants to take your guns ban

MSNBC’s Ali Velshi made quite the statement Thursday as he turned to noted firearms expert Shannon Watts for comment about gun control in New Zealand. On the news network almost nobody watches, Velshi said this at the :19 second mark.

Nobody in America has suggested banning any guns…

Velshi must not be keeping up on current events.

Here’s Velshi’s whole sentence: “Nobody in America has suggested banning any guns, but we have so many guns in this country that it causes other problems, right?”

He must mean problems like roughly 2.2 million crimes thwarted each year, most without ever firing a shot.

And the mainstream media wonders why the term “fake news” resonates with so many Americans.

    • velshi is such a hack and so bad at his job, he used to work for cnn and they canned him. Then the bottom of the barrel msnbc picked him up. They deserve each other

  1. I’ve been told this by anti gun family members. “No one has ever suggested taking your precious guns!” All it takes a is a couple of YouTube videos to get the dead brook trout stare from them.

  2. This is not the post-truth era. There has never been any truth among the 5th estate or political class. Just now it’s easy to catch them. The result of throwing their lies back at them? THEY DON’T CARE!

  3. Almost every single anti gun person I’ve ever met or debated on the subject has played attention to the struggle for maybe 5 minutes before talking to me. This is the kind of shit they say and they never have any real information to argue with. It’s why I’ve totally given up trying to change anybody’s mind.

    • I’ve learned that some will actually listen and let you educate them. Others will stick their fingers in their ears and scream, “Lalalalala! I can’t hear you!”

    • This is why it’s so important to get new shooters interested, so we can win the war.

    • They also drool at the propsect of locking up even more young black men in prison.

One of the regular commenters here wrote that gun control was the history of white violent supremacism.

  4. In illinois they just filed an injunction to stop the enforcement of gun confiscation of ars and high capacity magazines.
The typical dimocrat strategy is to lie about their positions to appear mainstream and then once elected to try and push their anti american actual agenda.

    • Their words are the opposite of what they mean. They say “gun safety”.They mean ‘gun control”. Just like organizations’s who’s names sound nice and benevolent : Southern Poverty Law, Democratic Socialists etc. Also, communist/socialist countries are all “The Democratic Republic of XXX”. No democracy or freedom there.

  5. No magazine limits or abolished weapons (AR 15s, Glocks, pointy knives, rocks or sticks) will ever appease the Socialist (yes, Socialist, the Democratic Party is no more) because the goal is to control… The have gone from gun control to abolishment in 3 months with a minority / majority in just one house of the government. The Republicans did nothing in 2 years with the entire government…. Funny the Democrats didn’t do anything under Obama either until the Republicans tried to appease the mob

    • Phil Twiss,

The Republicans did nothing in 2 years with the entire government …

Your statement is at best incredibly misleading because Republicans did NOT have 60 members in the U.S. Senate. Remember, U.S. Senate rules require a vote of 60 U.S. Senators to agree to end debate before they can vote on a bill.*

In other words the U.S. Senate will never approve much of anything without broad support. And given how the nation is fairly evenly split between Republicans and Democrats, that means the U.S. Senate will never approve much of anything without the dreaded “bi-partisan” support. Needless to say, Democrats will never provide anything approaching broad support for our right to keep and bear arms.

      * I have heard that the U.S. Senate does not require 60 votes to end debate on budget bills as well as Presidential appointments. I encourage you to research and verify that detail.

      • True, but a recent development Thanks to Harry Reid. That is why we got the two recent SC justices confirmed, we would have never managed 60 votes on either.

      • ” Remember, U.S. Senate rules require a vote of 60 U.S. Senators to agree to end debate before they can vote on a bill.”

So why didn’t Republicans require Democrats to keep deabting 24/7/365?
Make the Democrats stand in the well for weeks or months if they so desire.
I’d imagine the Democrats would give up within a couple days.

      • The career politicians in the republican party are a joke and almost just as much part of the problem as the democrats. Say what you will about the dumocrats, but their party stands united and is always in lock step regardless of the issue. The republicans don’t support their President as a united party, they are splintered and many are RINOs like Mccain was. McConnell is a poor leader and can’t unite the party. Ryan was an utter disappointment on so many levels. McCain was a total turncoat, lying POS. He never lived up to his promise to repeal and replace Obamacare, turned over the phony Steele dossier, etc. Rubio is a total flake and waffler or just plain doesn’t support republican ideals consistently. I could go on and on. And yes, they did hold all three branches of government for two years and accomplished an embarrassing fraction of what they should have. This whole political system is broken. These people should not be allowed to hold political office at the tax payers expense for their entire lives. We need term limits! I was reading about a democratic politician a while back, I wish I could remember who it was. They had never held a private sector job and had been in politics their entire life with the highest annual income they earned being $140K. They are worth tens of millions of dollars now. No matter how you slice it, that math doesn’t add up without some level of corruption going on, otherwise I could have retired to beach years ago! Additionally, there is an entirely different set of rules for them, as they have set themselves up as the ruling class. There is no legal accountability for them, but there is for the average american that they are suppose to be representing the interest of. Pathetic!

  6. Just to make sure, Missouri has a bill in work that might be of interest to y’all:

    https://trackbill.com/bill/missouri-senate-bill-367-creates-additional-protections-to-the-right-to-bear-arms/1678855/

SB 367 – This act creates the “Second Amendment Preservation Act”, and lists various declarations of the Missouri General Assembly regarding the United States Constitution and the scope of the federal government’s authority. In addition, the act declares that federal supremacy does not apply to federal laws that restrict or prohibit the manufacture, ownership, and use of firearms, firearm accessories, or ammunition within the state because such laws exceed the scope of the federal government’s authority. Laws necessary for the regulation of the land and the United States Armed Forces are excluded from the types of federal firearms laws that exceed federal authority.
This act declares as invalid all federal laws that infringe on the right to bear arms under the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and Article I, Section 23 of the Missouri Constitution. Some laws declared invalid under this act include certain taxes, certain registration and tracking laws, certain prohibitions on the possession, ownership, use, or transfer of a specific type of firearm, and confiscation orders.
The act declares that it is the duty of the courts and law enforcement agencies to protect the rights of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms.
Under this act, no public officer or state or local employee has the authority to enforce firearms laws declared invalid by the act.
Any public officer or state or local employee who tries to enforce the firearms declared invalid by the act or any person who acts under the color of law to deprive a Missouri citizen of rights or privileges ensured by the federal and state constitutions shall be liable for redress. In such an action attorney’s fees and costs may be awarded, and official or qualified immunity shall not be available to the defendant as a defense. Such officer or employee may also be prohibited from serving as a law enforcement officer for the state or political subdivision.

  7. Now where have we heard that before? Their biggest problem seems to be that they actually believe we’re as stupid as they are. I think it’s about time we show them just how dumb they really are.

  8. “noted firearms expert Shannon Watts”

    ROFLMFAO…

But seriously, that’s the very narrative that the anti’s have been going with all along, I’m guessin’ he didn’t get the memo on the new narrative…

  9. A domestic cross between Lord HaHa and the useful idiots. It’s time to put a whole lot more chlorine in the shallow end of the gene pool. -30-

  10. So, Red Flag Laws don’t exist?
So, CA and NY won’t confiscate unregistered ARs when found?

1984 was a warning, not an outline for new laws.

  11. Bravo Sierra, yes they have, yes they are coming for your arms.

The Left of both parties since the 1920’s have actively been opposed to the 2 nd. amendment and constantly working to neuter it,They Are After Your Arms !

  12. This Ca rep Eric Swalwell was on National Peoples Radio Friday pontificating on the Mueller fraud. One moronic asshat.

  13. People like him who don’t really pay attention to jackass politicians should not be permitted to vote. The average person is different, but somebody who involved in some kind of mass media situation? JEEZ!!

  14. MSNBC and CNN are nothing but unapologetic propaganda arms of the democrat party and as such lies like this are not surprising.

    • …and ABC, NBC, CBS, essentially all broadcast media outside of Fox News and talk radio.

  15. If only “journalists” face the same sort of fact checking that they perform on politicians of the opposing side… well, we wouldn’t have many left. This sort of statement shows either deceit or, more likely, willful ignorance. I’m not sure which is worse from someone who is supposed to be informing the public.

  16. It’s not only newspeak, but an example of he who controls the past controlling the future.

    • Or MSLSD. It’s basically an out of body experience for anybody watching it because they aren’t using the brain in their head. It’s always the brain on the tube doing the “thinking”.

  17. It only causes problems for those traitors demolishing the Constitution and the Country it protects.

  18. Yes, this trope about “we don’t want to ban guns” is one of the deliberate lies the anti-gun crowd spout, along with the line “we actually support the Second Amendment”.

Anyone who believes an enemy’s lies deserves what happens to them. Always treat the enemy as the enemy because he will invariably treat you that way.

  19. Ali Velshi was born in Nairobi, Kenya and raised in Toronto, Canada. He is an Ismaili Muslim of Gujarati Indian descent. He’s a Canadian subject.

I’m really tired of foreigners like Velshi injecting themselves into our affairs. What he thinks about our Constitution or how we conduct our internal affairs is none of his damned business.

We have enough foreigners who are naturalized American citizens who haven’t assimilated and who want to turn this country into the socialist sh*t holes they came from that I don’t care one little bit about what a Canadian muslim like Velshi thinks.

    Just STFU!

  20. Like Holocaust denial, advocacy of racially invidious gun controls is firmly based in lies and deceit.
