1. I didn't realize obeying orders was optional in the Guard.

   • See my comment below. An unlawful order is just that unlawful, and thus is not allowed to be obeyed.

2. All I can say is Thank God there soldiers that know to obey in order that is unconstitutional and thus illegal is a CORT MARTIAL ABLE offense. Acording to the UCMJ

3. If I were in that situation, I would hope that I had the guts to stand up against those orders. I might just leave the citizens with at least one gun, but that would be a cop out.
