Not gonna lie, holsters have a hard time standing out enough to warrant publishing a press release on one. But Warcat Tactical (which is new a sister company of Alien Gear) caught our eye with a new manufacturing process and an aggressive price point — $17.76 with extra features.

Alien Gear makes some good holsters, so I expect these Warcat holsters to be better than many of the bargain priced products out there.
I am always looking for affordable gear for many of the new gun owners I train. I don’t mind spending over $100 for a good holster, but not all new gun owners are willing to spend that much.
The only problem I have with Alien, is statements on their part about voiding warranty if you cut for an optic, while also not offering the same. Or for a weapon light, and/or comp like some others. Their falling behind the times.
Hopefully Warcat will rectify this, but as a budget option I have little hope for the ‘extras’ offered by others.

I’m in the process of having my 1911 slide cut for the Tricon RMRcc. I spoke to Alien Gear CS about ShapeShift holster shells being made for red dots. I was told that modifying a shell would still be covered under warranty. Worst case? New shell is ~$30.
Good to know, but it doesn’t make a whole lot of difference with regard to my options. At least, until they start offering light equipped models.
Probably going Tier 1 with my next one.
Their ankle holster was so uncomfortable I returned it the next day. Was not impressed with quality either
Ankle holsters really need to be tried out. I found that out the hard way.
For one, I can’t wear one as is suggested, inside of weak side. Rides on my ankle bone, 10 seconds is about my limit. So, outside of my strong side, which makes more sense to me anyway. Also, if a fabric holster doesn’t have a rolled top edge, forget it.
It’d be a good idea for non-custom holster manufacturers to make the sight channel taller to accept aftermarket sights.
The red dot hood on this is interesting. This looks like it will make or break it. We shall see.
Great. They make one holster and it’s appendix carry. Yes sir. That’s a game changer.

I’ve worked in plastics injection molding, them dies ain’t cheap.
Hopefully the company has picked the right gunms because at $18 a pop they’re going to have to sale a lot.
All my holsteins I use are made out of leather, I just dont like a plastic holstein.
Ditto on the leather holsteins.
Yez, as far as plastic holsteins are concerned…the milk tastes all resiny and artificial.
And bull hide is superior to cow leather.
Clip etc would be injection. Shell formed from sheet.
If you carry a Glock, or a Glock, or a Glock or an M&P this looks fine. Anything else? Not so much.

Ya mean like most holster manufacturers are either doing already and have been for a few years or will be doing anyway? Like the custom made holster I got about three years and have been using.
Nothing new in this respect.
a lot of manufacturers take blank sheets of kydex and press them around a mold. Not efficient, but a perfect fit for the gun/light/optic combo.

Too bad they make the same limited selection of holsters as every other kydex holster company on the market.
