SMYRNA, GA. –-(Ammoland.com)- GLOCK, Inc., announces today the addition of the GLOCK 26 and the GLOCK 34 Modular Optic System (MOS) to the Generation 5 pistol family, bringing the number of 9×19 caliber pistols in the Gen5 family to four.
The G26 Gen5 and G34 Gen5 MOS continue the evolution of perfection with over twenty design changes to distinguish them from their Gen4 predecessors. Through rigorous testing and development, GLOCK has combined the historical reliability and trust in the brand with precisely-engineered design changes to meet the demand of consumers world-wide.
“The development of our Gen5 pistols was the result of the constant pursuit of perfection and a desire to meet the requests of the consumer market,” said GLOCK, Inc. Among the design enhancements are the GLOCK Marksman Barrel (GMB) which delivers increased accuracy with enhanced polygonal rifling and an improved barrel crown, no finger grooves, ambidextrous slide stop levers for better versatility and control, and an nDLC finish, which is a tougher and more durable finish that is exclusive to the GLOCK manufacturing process.
The G26 Gen5 and the G34 Gen5 MOS will be available on dealer shelves beginning January 22nd, 2018.

I plan on buying both as I carry both. I am not a Glock hater and they are welcome additions to my carry arsenal. They will always have a place in my rotation.
Glocks are amazing. I was always meh on them mostly because I didn’t care for polymer pistols but once I played with a 19 I went out and bought one. Amazing pistol.

It’s kind of telling when TTAG’s own Dyspeptic Gunsmith (who has commented on his hatred of ‘plastic fantastics’ in general) has admitted to owning and carrying a Glock on occasion.
I’ve owned 2, the 22 and 23. I would have zero problem owning one again in the future…

Glock 19 size in a Ruger package. Just picked up the new Ruger Security 9 in the LGS today.
309.00 out the door, 2 x 15 rd mags. Grip is CZ75 like instead of blocky Glocky.
Add another 200 to equal the cost of a Glock and could have grabbed the LCP.
I can’t wait to try the Security 9. It’s the only new semi-auto I’m excited to try right now. If it’s like a bigger version of the LCP II then I’ll look to buy one right away as I love my little LCP II.

Am I the only one asking where the hell is the gen 5 glock 22, or the gen 5 glock 21/20? I get the the world is filled with the “9mm is the end all be all” but some of us like 357 sig, 45, 40, ect.
Not allowed. The 9mm fanbois choir successfully lobbied a ban on any new glock gun in any caliber that’s not 9mm.
Considering how people have been getting rid of any 40’s they own, as well as avoiding them like the plague at gun stores lately, it might be a while before Glock comes out with a 22/23/27/35 gen 5. Shame too, because even though it took long for me to jump on the bandwagon (if there ever was one), I’m now a yuge fan. The G23 gen 3 (after the stipple job, trigger guard undercut and night sights) is one of my favorites.
I’ll be surprised if a 40s&w gen 5 comes out anytime soon. But pleasantly surprised, as maybe that’s what it will take to help the 40 get its groove back, sales wise.
I hope so. I really love my 40’s, and my 357 sig glocks. They’re great, and I really hope glock releases something soon.
I have the Gen 5 G19 – it is the perfect gun. It is my only non-1911.
As is always the case with Glock: SSDC (same sh** different configuration).
