Or just buy the factory LR version of that gun with basically the same features for way less than add8ng that monstrosity.
Based on what folks have to say about the R700 version of this stock/chassis, the fit and finish and quality are unsurpassed. I LOVE the T3 action, and if I weren’t already committed to going a different way on my current and next build, I’d absolutely consider this.
Let me buy a gun, take everything off it, then pay as much or more than the gun I just bought to stick it in a “better” stock. Yeah… I don’t get it. No need to wring microns of supposed accuracy out of your guns super snipers, whatever you’re using them for isn’t going to be worth the cost 99.9999999999999% of the time.
If you can hit what you want to hit with the more expensive rifle, and you could not hit it with the factory rifle, then it was worth it.
For instance, I recently took a long range shooting course. Students were asked to hit an 8in hanging target at 600 yards. None of the students who brought their factory hunting rifles could do it repeatedly. But they could while shooting the instructor’s rifle, which cost about three times as much. There was no additional instruction, they just changed firearms.
I have a JEA stock on my LRB M25 ( the M14 with intergrated rail for scope) and it’s pretty cool. Granted, I paid a bunch for it, but not too many people have ever seen one like it. Just for fun, and shoots very very nice out to limit of .308cal.
