Over the last couple decades I have used a lot of slings on a lot of guns, and I truly love what Klik Belts and Black Collar Arms (which, full disclosure, I co-own) have come up with here. Wow pricey! And I’m looking for an AR sling. Seems nice…
Yeah, it’s pricey. It’s literally the best we could make and it’s damn good at that.
We created and tested a bunch of designs over the last like 16 months and ultimately both parties (Klik Belts and Black Collar) decided to just launch the “Cadillac” model. COBRA buckles were a must to fit the Klik Belts brand, and actual, legit AustriAlpin ones are expensive. We tested every mil-spec webbing width, padded and non-padded, and the end result is so darn effective and comfortable we decided not to even offer a non-padded version at this time. All the specialty sewing (and in particular the fact that it’s done in the U.S.!) is a big component of the final price. Anyway…there was a version that wasn’t quick-adjust and only had a COBRA buckle on the front, and it was a fine sling but it wasn’t anything special. This bad boy is special. Crazy adjustable, super strong, really comfortable, the quick adjust works great, you can snap it between guns super easily. It’s an awesome, albeit admittedly very expensive sling.
Also I have a matching belt and sling now — it’s literally the exact same mil-spec webbing — and that’s just cool 😉
Seriously? Dump the Cobra tails, made it solid and reduce the price by half and then you’re in the competitive zone. What purpose does TWO heavy, clunky Cobra buckles do that the QDs don’t already do? Plus the additional weight – just to be different? No. This could be a nice sling. I like the adjuster. But otherwise…
These are mini COBRAs. Often used for dog collars and sometimes even watch bands. Crazy strong, but far smaller and lighter than the belt versions. All aluminum, just a couple of ounces. Anyway it also allows for QD functionality on guns with sling swivel and strap attachments and it’s extremely easy to configure on guns with mismatched front and rear sling attachment systems. A few of my ARs require a rear strap and I have plenty of hunting rifles with sling studs, and so far I’ve been moving any QDs between guns but for those more “permanent” attachments it’s pretty slick to just move the sling Body and leave the Tails installed on the guns. Especially the straps.
And it may be the answer for some. But still, fiddly. Just easier to get a sling for each gun. One and done and no monkeying around. Offering a sling without the mini-cobras would just be smart and add virtually nothing to the manufacturing process and keeping prices down. Just a thought.
Yeah that would be cool. But it wouldn’t be a Klik Sling. Other players (hundreds) have the mass-market thing well taken care of. It’s the Ferrari, not the Camry. Well, except that it’s made in the U.S. instead of farmed overseas, which also sets it apart from most of ’em and accounts for a good chunk of the MSRP. They will be fewer, better for many uses/owners, and made right here.
Any plans to make a single point sling option?
If the demand is there. A simpler, likely non-padded single point version that has the same male side COBRA to use with the same Tails.

You could say the same darned thing if you made it right here minus the tail pieces. The Cadillac of slings, and made right here, reduce the price to an easier swallow and crush the overseas made crap – still.
