RENO, NV – (January 12, 2017) – Legacy Sports International, Inc., leading U.S. importer of firearms and shooting accessories, is excited to unveil the new HOWA Chassis Rifle (HCR) at SHOT Show, 2017 in Las Vegas, NV. Developed for long-range shooting, the HCR is available in MultiCam® Cerakote FDE or black, and with or without a Nikko Stirling optics package. The HCR is the first HOWA rifle to feature the new Legacy Sports International Lifetime Warranty and Sub-MOA Guarantee.

According to Gene Lumsden, President and CEO of Legacy Sports International, “The new HCR combines the legendary accuracy of the Howa 1500 heavy barreled action with a precision-engineered aluminum chassis system resulting in a rifle that outperforms all other factory long-range rifles.”

The fully adjustable LUTH-AR MBA-3 stock has adjustable length of pull, and an adjustable comb height to compensate for scope height over bore. “The flexibility of this rifle ensures quick and accurate shots every time,” he added. The Howa HCR stock is mounted on an AR-style buffer tube system, and features an ERGO MSR grip and 3-position safety.  The rifle is offered in Howa 1500 20” and 24” heavy barreled options, and 22” standard barreled options. They are equipped with a 2-stage, creep-free H.A.C.T. trigger, and each rifle comes with an AI-Style 10-round magazine, and a 20 MOA EGW rail for optics (scoped package only).

The HCR scoped package comes equipped with the purpose-built Nikko Stirling Diamond Long Range 4-16×50 scope backed by the exclusive Nikko Stirling LIFETIME WARRANTY. Built to fulfill the various needs of long-range shooter while maintaining a budget friendly price tag, the Diamond Long Range riflescope utilizes the exclusive Nikko Stirling glass-etched HOLDFAST reticle. The riflescope features fully coated Microlux ETE GEN III glass coatings, ¼ MOA click adjustments, resettable zero-stop turrets, aircraft grade 30mm main tube, dual red/green illumination, enhanced light gathering construction, and is magnum caliber rated.

The HOWA Lifetime Warranty states that Legacy Sports International offers a 100% Lifetime Warranty to the ORIGINAL PURCHASER on all HOWA rifles for manufacturer defects. The HOWA Rifle 100% Lifetime Warranty covers faulty, defective or broken parts due to manufacturing, and provides repair or replacement at no additional cost. Legacy Sports International requires an original receipt, and that the firearm be registered with Legacy Sports International. The Warranty is not transferrable. All HOWA rifles purchased in the U.S. on or after January 1, 2017 are covered by this offer.

HOWA SUB-MOA GUARANTEE

  2. I had a howa in .243 that was a fantastic rifle. Not sure I’d pay 1200 for one though. I think id rather pay the $450 for a regular 1500 and build it up myself.

  3. It’s nice to see manufacturers step up their game and produce rifles like this.
    They have been leaving a lot of money on the table with all of the successful aftermarket chassis systems.

I picked one of their mini action 7.62×39 with the heavy barrel up, figured a fun plinker, likes Silver Bear ammo 4 out of 5 normally within an inch at 100 yards, I typically choke the 5th if I have a good group going. PPU round nose 123gr not so much. Fun to stand back, watch people walk by during a cold period at the range, look at rifle, look at ammo box/ammo, pause, then look closer at rifle, then use their spotting scope to see the groups if I have not changed the target. Nikon 2-7 P300 BDC works well on it. Triggers are not bad, action is nice, made in Japan, a nice setup overall, mags are rather $$$ a touch over $40 for the 7.62×39 and 6.5 Grendel mags.
    The chassis might be made in Australia.

    They also sell just the barreled action, add your own chassis or stock, MDT and Boyd’s offer them.

    One thing the RPR has over a Howa, is able to change the barrel out rather easily.
    RPR have gone up with Gen 2, with the brake installed and other improvements, think they are going for about $200 more than when they first came out.
