Personally, I prefer Carling Black Label to the Browning Black Label 1911 in .380. Well I did before TTAG reader and Texas Firearms Festival armed self-defense simulator guy Louis Bonham started my beerducation. Now it’s a wash. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with a .380 … that a .45-caliber 1911 doesn’t fix. Sure, the BL is smaller and lighter than its big brother. But it’s still not a pocket pistol. And we all know that .45’s are capable of stopping anything short of SEAL Team 6. Providing there are no more than six of them.

It was a miniature 1911…complete with John Moses Browning’s venerable “swinging link” barrel system.
Since mine was post-GCA`68 it was equipped with those stupid “thumb rest” grips. 😐
I had one of those but I honestly don’t remember a thumbrest. Or adjustable sights. Maybe mine was pre 68? It wasn’t as pretty as a Colt, but it worked. I knew a guy with a 9×19 1911 look alike that I believe was a Llama. It seemed to work reliably, also. He only ever had one mag for his.
1911 in 380-why? What’s wrong with 9mm? Held a Coonan 357 today-THAT’S a gun! Carling Black Label? Brought back some ultra cheap beer memories from my misspent youth LOL…
I shot this little guy at SHOT Show (2015) and enjoyed it. Handy size, soft shooting, plenty accurate. Fun little pistol. If .380 were less expensive I’d go for it for plinking use. As-is, I stick to 9mm for most fun-related, centerfire shooting just for ammo cost purposes.
And the purpose is??? Why not just buy a Sig 938 so you can shoot grown-up 9s? Cartridges cost less and do more! Cute little gun with little purpose except being cute. Too big to conceal, not powerful enough otherwise. Just give me an XDs!!!

I have one. I like it because it’s the most enjoyable .380 I’ve fired so far since the late, lamented Llama .380. My only complaints are it’s not a steel frame, it has a magazine safety and, so far, there’s no provision for a suppressor-compatible barrel. I’ve seen ads for a new all-steel Baby Rock RIA .380, which is also a 7/8-scale 1911, but I’ve had no opportunity to try one out.
You can call it a 1911 all you want, but, unless it is in 45ACP it is not.

I have one of the Browning mini 1911 22’s..and I love it. It’s a super fun gun for plinking. Great little gun. I will be getting one of these too. Pricey, but so much fun.

WANT. Though yes, would prefer 9mm, just because it’s cheaper. But maybe if there are enough .380’s out there the ammo will get made more and be cheaper! [dreams the impossible dream]
I too would be interested in it if it was available in this size, but in 9mm. I don’t see much point in .380 in this size gun.
Sig 938. A superior device, and that from a very non-Siggy guy.
rented a 938 at the range. trigger is hard as a rock, affecting accuracy and recoil control. the baby rock and little browning both have true 1911 triggers, and are sweet to shoot. agree it would be more funner in 9mm (i think), but light weight and 1911 trigger make the guns attractive. the browing is lighter, whereas the baby rock is about the same weight at the mp9c 9mm. kinda like the weight advantage to the browning (most all striker fired gun frames are poly/plastic so that would be no consideration. still gotta find that one something as a first gun buy.
