Now that the dust has settled and the progressives’ progressive is in Gracie Mansion, it can be revealed that both men are statists with scant regard for the United States Constitution. As a sign that Mayor de Blasio has as much contempt for Americans’ natual and civil right to keep and bear arms as Moms’ main man, Hizzoner has joined Bloomberg’s anti-gun group, Mayors Against Legal Illegal Guns. Surprised? Me neither. “Mayor Bloomberg took on this fight when few others would, and today we are safer for it,” de Blasio told nydailynews.com. “He built a national movement for common-sense gun control — one I am proud to join.” His Deputy iced the cake . . .
“A brand-new mayor made this one of the first entities he joined,” First Deputy Mayor Anthony Shorris told The News.
“From the appointment of (Police) Commissioner (Bill) Bratton, we’ve made it clear that protecting the people of the city is one of the top priorities for Mayor de Blasio.
“ One of the keys of doing that is to get illegal guns off the streets. . . . Joining a group like this that makes it part of a national effort makes complete sense for this mayor.”
Yes. Yes it does. Meanwhile, news.yahoo.com reports that the United Nations has tapped former Mayor and MAIG man Mike to be their “special envoy for cities and climate change.” With a bit of luck the appointment means that Bloomberg will de-prioritize civilian disarmament. That’s personally. His money will continue to be the gun control movement’s life blood.

Under the law in the US, as established by precedent, it is not the responsibility of the government to protect the individual, it is the individual’s responsibility to protect themselves. They can not do so if they are prevented from having the effective means to do so.
