philadelphia home invasion robbery shooting
CBS Philly

Philadelphia’s mayor isn’t a fan of civilian firearms ownership. After a recent shootout between a drug-dealing armed felon and police, he 1) blamed it on the NRA, and 2) called for more gun control laws and an end to Pennsylvania’s preemption law that keeps him from disarming more law-abiding Philadelphians.

Members of one Philadelphia family are awfully glad the mayor can’t sign any new gun control laws. They woke up early this morning to two masked men with guns in their bedrooms.

According to CBS Philly . . .

Police say two masked gunmen forcefully entered the residence in what they believe is narcotics motivated.

Police say they stole a cellphone from a 9-year-old boy and held a gun to a 33-year-old woman’s head inside her bedroom and demanded money.

That’s when the boyfriend of the woman homeowner pulled a gun. He shot both criminals.

One of the suspects jumped out of a second-story window after being shot in the back and leg. He was transported to Jefferson-Torresdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A second suspect, 24-year-old Elvin Laureano-Uviera, was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

Both of the suspects have had prior arrests.

Here’s Philly homicide captain Jason Smith with the details . . .

To recap, the dead man had two prior arrests including possession of a firearm on school property. Laureano-Uviera — the one who survived — had six priors including assault, burglary, DUI and vandalism.

Two children were in the house along with two adults at the time.

    • This was few blocks away from me. A once great neighborhood destroyed in less than a decade by the Section 8 Filth that has invaded it. Made worse by the George Soros appointed District Attorney Larry Krasner that is the Black Lives Matter attorney who has waged a lifetime war against the Philadelphia Police.
My home in the same neighborhood was robbed 3 years ago, which turned me into a lifelong Pro-2A and Anti-Democrat voter.
At least Pennsylvania remains a non-Left wing cesspool, unlike Philly, so we can conceal carry with permit.

    • For Philly probably legal but still would likely never be a contributing member of society especially for an occupied home burglary with various priors.

  1. Shudda called 911, and let the police handle it.

Better yet, if this truly was a drug-related thing, let Darwin handle it.

    • Does Pennsylvania have a felony murder law? In most states, the wounded perp would be charged with the death of his partner-in-crime.

    • Yes the surviving perp is considering prison b@t@@ as his next career. He will bet serving a long felony murder sentence for the death of his accomplice.

    • Of course there was no crime before guns were invented or so the idiots seem to believe. I couldn’t use think as an adjective as they don’t know how to.

    • And if frogs had wings they wouldn’t bump their asses on the ground getting everywhere they need to go.

      • … it was the stop at the bottom.

He was a good boy just turning his life around: we MUST ban the earth NOW to prevent more needless deaths when people suddenly stop on the ground after falling from heights!

    • I had to read that part twice. I though it said he was shot in the back of the leg and jumped out the 2nd story window. I was thinking he died? Must have been the fall! Then I read it again and saw the back AND leg.
I’m sure these boys were planning on getting paid….not getting the shit shot out them and launching out a window. I’m betting when he hit the ground…his life was flashing before his eyes and he knew he was a goner.
Not a pleasant way to go.

    • A similar thing happened down the street from me a few years ago. Guy one died, guys two and three went out a closed second story window and were picked up after following the blood trails to the ER.

  2. MISTER MAYOR this is what the americans call CIVIC IMPROVEMENT,for you communist jackasses it is called culling ,the welfare rolls .. both are helpful for the city.

    • I couldn’t find any info on what they meant by narcotic related. Where the homeowners selling drugs? Did the BG’s have the wrong house? I’m guessing we’ll never know since this story and any follow ups, cannot be leveraged for more gun control.

      • Cops and crooks usually use the same source of information. Which is other crooks. Houses that a criminal lived in years, or even decades, ago are targetted in drive by shootings. So at some point someone may have sold drugs from that premises, or someone who sold drugs may have lived there.

But the information is never updated so innocent people end up in the crossfire.

      • They mean the home invasion is of a drug dealers home. Two guys do not pick a house out the blue. Home invasions have 3 flavors. Sexual, drug dealer or small business owner.

  3. As we speak the Mayor and the DA are scouring the laws trying to find a way to make an example of the homeowner. How dare he defend himself. With a gun no less.

    • Especially against such up standing citizens. I mean, it’s not like either were convicted of anything serious before. I bet they bought their firearms by passing the MANDATORY background check at every ffl point of sale, which includes gun shows. These criminals, I mean people, always follow the rule of law….. oh. . Wait criminals don’t follow the laws, which means these two probably should have been still locked up for their previous crimes, but the DA cut their sentences because……

  4. Worked out alright.

Shame about that fall. Had the victim just shot the bad guy some more, he would not have had to add that scary fall to his final miserable moments.

  5. This is the main reason I do not go into Philadelphia anymore. With a Democrat mayor and Soros backed D.A that hate all law enforcement and legal gun owners the city is sinking into caouis and crime.Only solution is at voting box.

  6. The recap left out the fact that the “possible boyfriend shooter” left the scene and is yet to be identified.

  7. Is there a way to change the status of the perp in the hospital to ‘Un-stable’ condition? Can they just pull the plugs – or give him a few extra shots of morphine/hydro-codone so he ODs’?

    Just my 2 cents.
