oregonlive.com reports that “The shooter at Umpqua Community College on Thursday asked people to state their religion and then started firing, one student said. Kortney Moore, an 18-year-old, told the News Review she was sitting in her writing class when a bullet blasted through the window. She saw her teacher shot in the head then noticed that the shooter was in the classroom. Moore said the shooter told people to get on the ground. He then asked people to stand up and state their religion but started firing anywhere. She was on the ground next to people who’d been shot. At least 13 people have been killed, according to several sources.”

        • With the constant attack on Christians, from movies representing us as nut job extremist to the media making fun of us and turning us into radicals, it is no surprise to me that attacks are happening on us. My guess though is that this killer is a Muslim and that is why they are hesitant on releasing the name. Why else would they with hold it?

      • I’m not finding a source that is willing to say that the Columbine shooters were asking people their religion or even targeting Christians specifically. There was apparently some occurrence in the library where a girl who had already been shot was praying and the shooter asked her if she believed in God and then proceeded to shoot this other girl who was under the table praying. There was a myth that ciculated that he asked the under the table girl if she was a Christian, but apparently all he said her was “peek a boo”.

    • Muslim extremists don’t tend to ask you for your religion if they are overseas. They just kill everyone, because if you’re a Muslim and you aren’t actively joining him in killing westerners, you’re one of them. However, maybe this one was a polite terrorist.

    • In all fairness, we don’t know anything about the shooter’s religion, only that (i) he was 20, and (ii) he’s dead.

        You know Rand and Rothbard had a falling out pretty early on and spent most of their lives hating each other, right? Also, what prevents an atheist from being a libertarian?

        • Excuse me, but I was a follower of Hayek and von Mises before you were born. Neither Rand nor Rothbard were Libertarians. Rand offered up her Objectivist Theory as an alternative to Libertarianism and Rothbard was a self described anarcho-capitalist. Neither Rand nor Rothbard were Libertarians and their followers aren’t either.

      • Just because they had a falling out doesn’t mean they are not the foundation for what is commonly called Libertarianism. But I think you are confusing Hayek and Rothbard.

        But, the first part of the post was dig at Mack Bolen’s comment.

        The second part was a statement of fact.

        And Rand and Rothbard were athiests and so are many of their devotees.

  14. My condolences to the families of the victims. I just listened to a victim describe via news interview what happened. Her class heard firecrackers (gunshots), locked the door, called the police, and assumed the fetal position. They hid and prayed that they wouldn’t be next. My goodness. What have we become in this country.

    As I finish wrapping my head in foil, is it paranoid of me to think that this happened today to draw coverage away from Obama monkey humping us into a proxy (direct?) war with Iran and Russia in Syria?

    • Considering more incidents like this have happened under Obama’s reign than in the entire history of the nation combined, I wouldn’t discount anything.

      Also not surprised that the students curled up, unarmed, helpless, and waiting to die. That’s what leftist indoctrination has done to western civilization. We can fight for gun rights all we want, but if people are sheep at heart, the 2A will mean nothing to them.

  15. So a mass shooting takes place at 10am and it’s now 7pm on the East Coast and we know nothing of the suspect? One must ask themselves “why” hasn’t ANY info identifying the shooter other than his age been released to the media and public. In ALL other recent incidents of this type law enforcement broadcast info on the perp within a short time. Does anyone believe LE doesn’t know who the shooter was or his faith, had he been a White Christian his mug would’ve been plastered all over our TV screens within an hour.

    Notice the POS-in-Chief mentioned “mental illness” in his press conference minutes ago? Well that along with him, the shooter, asking victims about their faith, if “Christian” they got a bullet to the head, assures me the perp is a Muslim, possibly a convert to the “religion of peace”. I’m sure the Feds scrubbed ALL his online accounts ie. Farcebook, Twitter, SnapCchat hours ago so there will be nothing for us and responsible news outlets to find.

    • Donning the conspiracy cap, it would make sense to cover up a Muslim killing Christians in the US, especially if there is any IS connection. We lost the window to deploy boots on the ground in Syria now that Russia has staked its claim, there is no political will to go back to Iraq, and Obama is only worried with retaining his “peacekeeper” title. The reason the full story takes so to get out is the government isn’t done engineering it. They want this to be the next Sandy Hook, another story that took a long time to engineer, and we still don’t have concrete facts on that one.
