Pay No Attention to the West Virginia Woman Who Shot and Killed the Man Who Tried to Murder Her

We’ve been reliably told by some of the smartest people in America — just ask them — that defensive gun uses are few and far between. That the idea of the “good guy with a gun” is just a myth perpetuated by rabid gun nuts.

But whatever the number of defensive gun uses actually occur in the US every year may be — there’s a lot of theories as to the real number — how many DGUs is “enough?” What’s the threshold number of assaults stopped, rapes prevented, and lives saved beyond which even anti-gunners would concede that guns are a net benefit to society?

Spoiler alert: the answer is, shut up.

Nevermind that the CDC acknowledges that the number of DGUs range from 60,000 to 2.5 million annually, depending on who’s counting. Forget that the crimes prevented and lives saved side of the guns-in-society equation dwarfs the number of people who are killed using firearms every year (most of whom commit suicide).

No, as far as the Civilian Disarmament Industrial Complex is concerned, no amount of societal good can counterbalance the evils of gun ownership by non-government employees. So don’t even bother bringing up an example like what happened over the weekend to a woman in West Virginia when you talk to them.

Granted, the unidentified woman reportedly used a gun to defend herself against a man who had attacked her from behind and said he was going to kill her. But to the gun control industry, that’s simply not enough reason to allow someone like you — or any other civilian — to own firearms.

Early Sunday morning, forty-seven-year-old Donald Frame hit the woman in question from behind, kicked her while she was down, and then got on top of her to finish the job.

From wdtv.com . . .

Deputies said Frame attacked the victim by striking her in the back of the head and then kicking her while on the ground.

The [Lewis County Sheriff’s Office] press release reads, “Mr. Frame then began choking the female while stating to her that he was going to kill her.”

It goes on to state, “The female was able to draw a small handgun from her pocket shooting Frame one time in the chest.”

When deputies arrived on the scene, they found Mr. Frame beginning to assume ambient temperature. He won’t be jumping any more women from behind.

As heartening a story as this may be, don’t bother waiving it in the face of someone like Shannon Watts or Kris Brown. They’ll just purse their priggish lips, slowly shake their disapproving head at your persistent ignorance, and inform you that owning a gun doesn’t make a woman safer.

They’ll parrot the claim that deluded women who own firearms will only have them taken away and used against them. Then they’ll explain to you, in an exasperated tone, that the very idea of a woman successfully using a gun to defend herself against a male attacker is just a big lie. One that’s spread by the gun industry to sell more product.

So forget about that un-named West Virginia woman who saved her own life a few days ago because she had a gun in her pocket. Like so many others, you’ve bought the industry propaganda. You clearly have no idea what you’re doing or the risks you take when you own and carry a gun. You idiot.

  1. New at the ‘Babylon Bee’ –

“‘You’ll Never Beat The Government With Just Guns,’ Says Party That Also Believes Government Was Almost Toppled By Unarmed Mob On January 6”

    *snicker*… 😉

    • Geoff,

Yeah, I noticed that as I watched Sleepy Joe’s speech yesterday. It was painfully slow and without any energy whatsoever. I find myself missing Trump’s impromptu deliveries.

He said something like this (paraphrased): “To those who believe the 2nd Amendment is intended to fight against a tyranny, you’d better have F-15s and nuclear weapons…”

Hmm. That sure sounds familiar. As if some other cocky Democrat opened his yap and said basically the same thing.

        • ACTUALLY we wer dang near done with kicking the VC/NV when the surrender monkeys of the Demtard party pulled the plug and mandated force drawdown. It took us a couple years 67-68 to learn how to fight there and to restructure our MTOE and doctrine for a dismounted light inf fight.

The popular mythology of the MSM is that the NV kicked our butt during the Tiet offensive of Jan 1968. NO Walter Croncite was a lying SOB. NV Army was nearly destroyed by this ill considered offensive (strategic blunder).

        • Rewriting history again, are we?

“the surrender monkeys of the Demtard party pulled the plug“

Too bad you slept through history class, it was republican Richard Nixon who pulled the plug and achieved “peace with honor”

        • @Miner49er So which is it?
          A. A Republican lost the Vietnam war
          B. Vietnam War was a mistake (while ignoring it was started by the influx of troops under Johnson, a Democrat)
          C. We should have kept fighting in Vietnam (while continue to undermine the people fighting it)
          D. Whatever makes the Democrats above any and all criticism.

Actually reminds me of current Afghanistan. According to the media industrial complex, it’s Resident Jiao Bi Den who is withdrawing the troops, but not his fault he is withdrawing the troops.

        • Yalu Devil, your closest correct answer is:

“B. Vietnam War was a mistake (while ignoring it was started by the influx of troops under Johnson, a Democrat)”

But the war was not started by the influx of troops under Johnson, it’s roots actually trace back to Woodrow Wilson who ignored a petition by Ho Chi Minh for help in establishing a democracy.

And both Democrat Truman and Republican Eisenhower supported the French in reestablishing their colonial empire in Vietnam after World War II.

But the major betrayal was by Richard M Nixon, who secretly negotiated with the South Vietnamese in order to thwart the peace plan arranged by Johnson and continue the war in order to support Nixon’s election campaign in 1968.

      • “He said something like this (paraphrased): “To those who believe the 2nd Amendment is intended to fight against a tyranny, you’d better have F-15s and nuclear weapons…””

A president of the United States admitted he would use nuclear weapons on their political opponents.

That is LITERALLY something an actual fascist would do. Concentration-camp crematoriums are no different than a nuked deep-south city that votes for Trump.

Since we were just threatened with death via weapons of mass destruction, doesn’t that mean it’s a morally-correct thing to eliminate that threat, since every environmentalist knows radiation is *bad*?

        • I’m pretty sure the entire planet would go apeshit crazy if the USA started using nukes on anyone, let alone their (our) own population.

At that point I would imagine I would think most the military would disable the methods of using nukes before deserting.

Nuking your population goes far beyond “tyranny”.

Any soldiers oath is to the Constitution, not a senile old man and a cult.

        • “Any soldiers oath is to the Constitution, not a senile old man and a cult.“

And that is exactly why Trump and his cultists’ dreams of a military coup and martial law were unsuccessful, our professional military is far too patriotic to bow down to the orange buffoon.

I especially liked JCS Chairman GEN Mark Milley’s well reasoned and insightful statement to pedophile Matt Gaetz.

        • @Miner49er
“I especially liked JCS Chairman GEN Mark Milley’s well reasoned and insightful statement to pedophile Matt Gaetz.”

Careful. You sound like White Rage.

        • Yalu, the general was not expressing ‘white rage’, he was explaining the need to study the causes of the insurrection on January 6.

If you want to see good examples of white rage, view some videos of Rush Limbaugh or Tucker Carlson.

To the privileged, equality feels like oppression.

      • IHAQ is a pretend Patriot who skipped out on 1/6 Freedom Day despite having the means and motive to be there. She is a coward in every sense of the word. Pay her no mind…

      • Jim Crow Gun Control joe forgot to factor in those who fly those F-15s and command nukes are sworn to protect and defend the Constitution of The United States. And they may not take it laying down when their neighbors and realitives are in a conflict to Defend Their Cconstitutional Rights form a deranged pasty mouth marxist democRat Ratbassturd. The difference between me and Jim Crow Gun Control joe is…he needs someone else to do his fighting for him because he is all hat and no cattle.

        • I have had that and similar things….the software they use was apparently written by Libtards and it gets triggered on occasion. Sometimes my posts just never show up, and it won’t let me repost them saying I have already said that.

        • It won’t be long before there are political officers drawn from ANTIFA and BLM who will ensure sufficient motivation and ideological indoctrination among the troops, including summary “people’s justice” for any shirkers and malingerers.

“Your objection will be noticed immediately prior to your execution”.

      • Jets need jet fuel. ie. petroleum. A lot of which is transported by rail (even more now that Keystone XL is indefinitely stalled). And there’s thousands of miles of unguarded rail lines in the continental US. A dedicated insurgency could effectively ground the Air Force by ripping up tracks and intercepting tanker trains. You don’t have to shoot down a plane that lacks the fuel to take off.

As for nukes, irradiated citizens don’t pay taxes and the fallout means you can’t even safely loot the rubble. It’s swatting flies on the wall with a shotgun. You do far more long-term damage to your own sh– than to the insurgency you’re trying to eliminate.

  2. Evidently the government has never been to metal or hard rock concert.
That unarmed mob was nothing compared to say a Slayer concert when they were in their prime.

      • Exactly: “When a mosh pit is way worse then an ‘insurrection.’ ”
Except for the cop who took it a bit far and murdered Ashli Babbitt.

        • “Except for the cop who took it a bit far and murdered Ashli Babbitt.“

Wait a minute, I thought Matt Gaetz said that those were antifa and BLM that attacked the capital.
Was Ashli Babbit BLM or antifa?

      • “Or a Lamb of God wall of death.”

The most fun I had at a concert in the 80s was when a guy leaped over the barrier, jumped up on stage, turned around and faced the crowd, and made motions he was gonna dive for a crowd-surf.

He leaped. The crowd parted like the red sea, and he went face-first onto the grass. It was *awesome*… 🙂

        EDIT – I think it was Van Halen’s 5150 tour…

  3. “When deputies arrived on the scene, they found Mr. Frame beginning to assume ambient temperature.”

    Well…bye.

  4. Meanwhile in Colorado, a CCW holder shot and killed an asswipe who had just killed a police officer, likely preventing a mass murder event. Unfortunately the good guy with the gun was killed by responding cops.

    • This is a sad situation, and one reason why we need training for those who are carrying weapons in public spaces.

The hero made the mistake of picking up the shooters AR 15 and having it in his hands when the responding police officers arrived.

Yes, he should’ve kicked it away from the shooter who he had successfully stopped, and he should’ve waited for the police with his empty hands in plain sight.

CNN is covering the story on their web front page calling the armed citizen a “Good Samaritan” in the headline and quoting the police saying that this gentleman was a hero, positive coverage of a defensive gun used by an armed citizen.

      https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/26/us/arvada-colorado-police-shot-good-samaritan/index.html

  5. All the studies aside, this unidentified woman saved her life with a gun and did so after being hit in the head from behind , fell to the ground and was kicked by the attacker. Then while the attacker was on top of her stating his intentions of killing her, she managed to draw her gun and shoot the attacker.
This is just one example and 1 is not a huge number unless you are the 1.

    • As this was a domestic violence situation, I think it’s clear that this woman disagreed with the TTAG poster who claimed that “women need slapped around”.

Wow I’m glad to see a resolution to her domestic violence situation, it would’ve been better for all concerned if she had just left him and gone to a domestic violence shelter to start a new life.

There isn’t much information available, she may have had a DVP and/or TRO that he violated, in either case his days of violation are over.

      • @Miner49er
“TTAG poster who claimed that “women need slapped around”

Just admit it was you, no need to hide behind it.

  6. “Victim disarmament groups are sick, sick people, who’d rather see a woman raped in an alley and strangled with her own pantyhose than see her with a gun in her hand.”

    L. Neil Smith

  7. “To those who believe the 2nd Amendment is intended to fight against a tyranny, you’d better have F-15s and nuclear weapons…”

The same people that cheer on that statement are somehow also the ones that are shocked that Americans want to arm up. Leftism is a proof positive indicator of a mental disorder.

  8. Let’s compare criminal misuse of any weapon in this countries history vs Marxists. Since Marxists use of weapons is almost always criminal (violates civil rights) we have several dozen centuries before we catch up.

  9. Of course some defensive gun uses will fail. That is the nature of the problem of bad and evil people trying to do things they should not to good and law abiding people.

Which is no reason for giving in to the bad and evil people by denying good people the right and the means to try to defend themselves.

The right of self defense is a natural one and a Constitutional one. Always start from that fundamental pair of Truths and go forward. From there the real issues of human violence and root causes become the true and paramount concerns.

Rather than the fairy tale of the inanimate object made the bad human behaviors happen.

  10. I bet the cops showed up with their meat wagon and hauled the guy off. I dont think it’s fair.
    Another wasted bullet

  11. Don’t forget about the offensive gun uses in West Virginia:

    “UPDATE 5/27/21 @ 10:43 a.m.

MILTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – The name of the person killed in a shooting in a parking lot has been released.

The shooting happened around 5:55 p.m. Wednesday at the Go-Mart in the 300 block of Summers Addition Road.

When police arrived on scene, they detained Carl Rose Jr. and secured a gun from him.

James Anthony Oldham, 54, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, was shot multiple times and died at the scene.

According to the criminal complaint, Rose witnessed an active domestic involving Oldham and his wife. Rose walked over there and pointed a gun at Oldham. Then Oldham started towards Rose. The complaint states Rose walked backwards then stopped when Oldham got between him and a white pickup truck.

Milton Police say an altercation developed between Rose and Oldham where Rose shot Oldham. Police say Oldham turned and ran from Rose, who continued firing shots. He shot the victim approximately five times in the back. Oldham died from his injuries.”

  12. He or she who goes unarmed in paradise had better make sure that is where they are.

  13. a few miles away in Maryland a man was stabbed twice, defended himself against the attacker. They charged him with murder. Sad when you’re a registered firearm owner yet you have to allow an attacker to keep stabbing away so you’re not charged with murder 😥
