The above video from the Quartzsite Town Council meeting is busy going viral, demonstrating as it does a distinct lack of democracy and a surfeit of police intervention. Needless to say there’s a story behind the story. And a story after the story, wherein the bad guy of the piece (Town Councilman Joe Winslow) convinced a local justice of the peace to order cops to confiscate the firearms of local gem dealer and online entrepreneur Michael Roth. Reacting to the kerfuffle, “Roth allegedly glared at the councilman, blocked his entrance to Town Hall and called him a ‘turd,'” wnd.com reports. In actual fact, Winslow alleges that Roth said “Hey turd, where’s the keys to the arms locker?” Even if Roth’s comment was a threat, it looks like Winslow’s adopting a “takes a mentally unstable gun owner to know one” approach . . .

Winslow told [Justice of the Peace Karen] Slaughter what he wanted was that Roth and others with similar views “not be allowed to walk around armed. To me, I’m not a psychologist or psychiatrist, but I have been diagnosed with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) … that’s what I’m concerned with, that he’s gonna get so far into my personal space that I’m gonna react without thinking. I’m not making threats or anything like that. I’m not proud of that, but that’s the way I am” . . .

Ironically, despite Winslow’s self-expressed aversion to firearms and desire to confiscate Roth’s weapons, the councilman admitted he had recently gone gun shopping for himself.

“I felt it necessary for me to go out and purchase a gun, and I did,” Winslow said. “I went out and bought a 12-gauge shotgun. I don’t like it. I don’t like being in that position.”

There’s nothing quite like democracy inaction. I mean, in action. I think. Here’s the audio of the Slaughter’s slaughter of Roth’s Second Amendment rights.

  1. When ever someone questions the need for the 2nd amendment or its “lenient” interpretation, I usually quote Krusty The Clown regarding guns:

“Hey yutz…they’re for family protection, hunting dangerous and delicious animals, and keeping the king of England out your face”.

It seems to me I will have to ammend his quote, to include ensuring that the US government doesn’t continue to tread all over our civli liberties, in its never ending quest to coddle the wealthy and elite.

    • I am getting the word to anyone that is concerned for America.

My name is Donald Brian Lehoux. I am running for President of the U.S.A. as a write-in candidate because I am fed up. I am doing this as a write-in because there is to much of the “game” in politics and I will not participate. MY party is America first, truth transparency, accountability and no double standards. My website is mrpresident2016.com .

I am about the law. That being said, article 6 paragraph two
“the Constitution shall be the supreme law of the land”. I will defend the Constitution and the “Bill of Rights”. I am a veteran, military police, and ready to serve one more time.
I am an environmentalist, and believe in homeopathic medicine. I have read much on suppressed medical cures and technology. All of these cures and free energy will be put to use on the military bases so the problem companies can’t stop it.

If you want to see how passionate I am about this read my blog. If you are as opposed to the same BS that has been Washington DC for way to long, pass the word via social media. We can NOT be stopped. Thank you for your time.
      Sincerely

      Donald

  2. If someone I didn’t allow came onto my property and forcibly took my stuff, I would have the right to shoot them but if a politicians sends a cop to do it illegally then we can’t protect ourselves because we’ll be found guilty of murder or manslaughter. The Breivik guy might be evil but wearing a police uniform will probably give the crazy people we have here some ideas.

I originally had a point but I seem to have lost it. Stuff like this just grinds my gears. Damned if you do Damned if you don’t

    • You can and I cannot remember the case, but its out there. Some people are stupid and talking about the recent case where a cop didn’t show a warrant and guy stopped him and the cop executed him, and people were bringing up the Indiana case, which is illegal because it contradicts a supreme court case.

My Googling is fail at the moment and literally cannot find the case, but its old, maybe 1920s? It was a guy shooting a cop who did not provide a search warrant and the supreme court ruled you have a right to protect your property.

  3. Politicians seem to be above the law, the U.S. Constitution be damned.

They have exceptions for themselves and can arbitrarily infringe upon the Constitutional rights of other because they “feel like it”.

  4. Where the #### are the State Attorney General, the Arizona State Police, the US Dept of Justice (yeah, I know…), and the NRA? Why is it I can only find this story here and WND? There HAS to be more to this than has been reported.

  5. Who whuudda thunk Quartzite, AZ?
Any crime been committed yet or have we really deteriorated to “Minority Report?”
Well, time I got off the turnip truck?

  6. The local Sheriff has gotten “tagged” (caught) by the new MAYOR for siphoning town funds … and the Sheriff is desperate now… very, VERY desperate!! Thats all this is about!

FESS UP SHERIFF… UR GOING TO JAIL ANYWAY U LOOK AT IT. Probably with half the city council!! hahahaha… this story gets funnier & funnier everytime I hear about it.
