Washington County Machine Guns

In the video below, Washington County Machine Guns of Southwest Pennsylvania fire its entire inventory of 43 rental machine guns and pistols. Which begs the question: if you could have one, which one? Which is a stupid question, really. So the real question is: if you could have any three, which three? For me it’s the Thompson (Warren Zevon fan here), the H&K MP5-N and M16. Wait! Swap the H&K for the SCAR-17! No make that the BAR 30-06. I’m so confused! And 2A deprived. Oh well. Someday?

  1. Navy MP5. Only full auto I’ve ever wanted. Just about to the comfortable savings level in the play fund to get one too.

  2. HK MP-5-A2 (yes, technically a sub gun), FN P90 (technically a PDW), and, to mix it up, Steyr AUG.

    • Yeah, the Ol’Tommy would have to be on the short list for many of us… m1928a variant for me.
After that, the M60 popped to mind and then my brain became a jumble of belt-fed, box magazine, drum magazine, gravity-fed (hand-cranked brass Gatling!), reciprocating bolts, straight blowbacks and rotating barrel clusters…
I need to go split some wood now and clear my head… 🤠

  3. G18, the Ruskie pie pan fed gun and the Kris in .45 ACP just because the sound of it is fucking absurd.

ED:not on the list I want a suomi.

  4. ugh, i thought you meant LMG’s. that would be a helluva inventory.

in this case, UMP, AUG, and SCAR17

  5. M240G (Because nothing says, “no revolution for you” like a belt fed .30 caliber MG.)
any HK auto-sear (I can adapt it to several rifles I own)
A full-auto (not burst) M4 lower. (Again, can be adapted to many rifles I own.)

    • About as reliable as TTAG in producing non-click bait content anymore.

That said that Kriss SMG @ 1:27 was pretty bad ass, check that rate of fire. I wonder if anyone’s thought about making a binary trigger/bump stock to see if they could get close to that ROF.

      • Back when TTAG was new they had a lot to write about. Like many editors, Robert now has very little new content most of the time. He has to invent content. The yellow flare went up over the Springfield Armory kertoffle. TTAG produced multiple stories when there was no new information. That is just the nature of journalism. Since then my participation has been very selective. This isn’t driven by my disagreement and would have come to same conclusion if I agreed with the TTAG position. The productive lifespan of any enterprise of this type is 3-5 years. After that time has elapsed good content becomes tough to find. I think Robert and Co.have done a pretty good job with they have.

        • No. Just responding to the click bait portion of the comment. There is a finite amount of news out there and when a publication exhausts the backlog then they either invent stuff to write about or become an irregular publication only publishing when there is enough real news to fill the space.

    • from that list:
M-16 (not the stupid burst mode) since I can run that lower on multiple calibers.
AK-47 cause ammo is easily available and not horrible on the wallet and the guns hold up.
G-18 cause who wouldn’t want a hand held squirt gun with 33 round mags!

  6. M2 Carbine (850 RPM of .357 Mag-equivalent? Can I get an AMEN?!)
M1918 BAR (hog hunting, of course)
M1919 (to teach my daughter the values of teamwork)

  7. Not in the group. I would love to have a BAR chambered in 7.62 NATO.
    And the Thompson in 9mm.
    And an M4.

  8. Based on what I’ve shot/handled:
    M1A1 Thompson
    M1918A2 BAR
MP-44 (never fired, but handled a pristine one outside of Fallujah, Iraq. Yes, there was a lot of scheming going on trying to figure out to get it out of country, don’t know if those parties were successful or not. Talk about a piece of history in a strange place.)

  9. I want a Kris’s 45/10mm with the 2rd burst super bad. A P90 is on the short list as well. And the third…An M2 browning, or a 240G/b/l. It’d be a hard decision.

  10. Of the guns in the video:

    The Pig
The FAL (that thing was a little fire breather!)
    The AK-47

Of any gun in the world:
    Minigun
    Ma Duece
That new Navy Rail Gun (it’s not a machine gun, but still)

  11. M-3 grease gun, M60-E4 and of ones I have never fired, one of the .30 caliber “stingers” the USMC converted to shoulder fired from an aircraft mg.

  12. The M16
    The Ak47
    The M60.

I am presently only missing one of those 😀

    Of any in the world?
    A PKM
    An FNC
Whatever that 5.56 Cetme beltfed was.

  13. Mp5-N, the UZI (a little overweight, but compact and easy to shoot because of the slower rate of fire), and then an M16 because it could be adapted. Although I would be tempted by the FAL, and a Bren gun would probably entice me away from one of my choices.

  14. Galling gun, I saw a reproduction of one (working model) with a lot of brass. I want that on display in my den.

  15. I will take an M3 grease gun, because I have always liked them. Any belt fed, I’m not that picky, and an American 180, because who wouldn’t want a 22 caliber pan fed machine gun firing at 1200 rpm?

  16. Of any:

    Ma Deuce
    MG 42
    MP5 SD

Plus Callahan full-bore auto-lock. Custom trigger, double cartridge thorough gauge. 😜

  17. I have a couple sub guns, a MAC11/NINE with a bunch of Lage stuff on it, and a Stemple 76/45.

From this video, I’ve always wanted a Thompson, an M-16, and one of the MP5 variants, just because they shoot so nice.
