  1. Considering it’s a British paper, I’m surprised a lot more of the comments accompanying it weren’t along the lines of “those crazy yanks”. The fact that everyone is being reasonable about it is refreshing.

      • And even that one comment from the U.K. was fully supportive of Doug’s actions. “Pensioners”, as they’re called there, are some of the most vulnerable people in any society.

    • Most of the comments say they are from the US. I only counted one from the UK. Although not suprising that it’s mostly US. Between the Communist News Network (CNN) and Faux News the only real options for any real information is outside sources. And no MSN hasn’t been a network that counts since MSN was used as a messenger.

      • You forget Hillary Clinton said Fox News was the only station to give her a fair shake when she was running against Obummer.

  2. Good restraint on his part. Though he probably could have put the mongrel down after taking the punch. Especially with his wife in the car.

  3. Scumbag… glad to see the Vet was not more seriously injured. When in doubt, whip it out! Too bad he was not more alert, you could see this “thug” coming a mile away.

    • Hey, how else am I supposed to figure out which female celebrity went commando for today’s public stroll?

  4. “However he is thankful to have had his gun, and that his business is situated in a gun zone.”

Gun Zone? Is that like, not in a “Gun Free Zone”?

  5. True words. Not having a gun available is like not having a fire extinguisher in the house. You may never need either, but if you do, that’s what you need as nothing else can fix the problem as well.

  6. Simply stated and couldn’t be more correct in today’s day and age. From anti-Semitism unrivaled since the 1930’s, media and government driven racial division campaigns, lone wolf terrorists, totalitarian gun grabbers calling for violence, and our “as long as you feel good about yourself” esteem society, we maybe and are likely in for some dark times.

  7. I carry and tend to agree, but on the other hand, given our convoluted legal system, the anti- gun nuts, and growing reverse racism, you can be asking for trouble if you do carry and use.

  8. How is that poor boy going to turn his life around if someone threatens to shoot him every time he takes on a paying job?
