Remember the Army ad where the viewer’s looking a hysterical black man ranting (in a foreign language) at the camera as if someone had just killed his entire family in an airstrike? The narrator asks how we’d deal with the aggravated African. A hand reaches up to the lens and pulls off sunglasses. The man calms the f down. It’s an excellent point: go native! A point that’s been completely lost on America’s fighting forces throughout the GWOT (Global War on Terror). If anything, our soldiers are looking less and less like the locals and more and more like the Predator. Revision continues the trend with BATLSKIN: “the world’s first fully integrated, fully modular head protection system.” Just add a firearm with an ACOG and there you have it: your friendly neighborhood global policeman. Good luck with that. [h/t to gunmartblog.com. Click here for the press release.]

  1. American troops shouldn’t be policing the world….period. Going native or Predator (lol Batlskin) isn’t the issue. Going home is.

It’s degrading to have White American women wear hijabs instead of helmets in Afghanistan. Uncle Sam is selling out his children at breakneck speed.

      • But we just want to be everyone’s friend!

America just likes giving out free hugs to every (middle eastern) country!

  2. “Enervated” means drained, not “aggravated.” (And please post a link to the Army ad. I’m in advertising and have not seen it.)

    • Text amended. I don’t have a link handy. I don’t even know if it’s on YouTube. When I get a quite time (2021), I’ll have a look ’round. Promise.

    • I’m kinda hoping we go more Boba Fett and less New Hope: Storm Trooper…which ironically enough, is based on the Bobba Fett Mandalorian Armor.

DAM YOU DoD CONTRACTORS! WHERE ARE OUR MISSLE LAUNCHING, INDIVIDUAL BACK MOUNTED, JET PACKS?!?!?!?

  3. All legitimate concerns. I agree.

    But . . . I want one.

Seriously, though, looks like the sort of thing that might be useful for special forces, especially it it’s an effective platform to interface with night vision, communications systems, etc. The scarier they look, the better, right? Definitely not for police, or today’s soldier-diplomats.

  4. How much longer can the America poor and remnants of the middle class afford to support a costly international strategy to maintain an empire that mostly benefits the elites? The talons of America grow ever more deadly while our body and wings are fast decaying. The wisdom of our Founding Fathers to avoid maintaining a large standing Army, international entanglements, and government intrusion into the lives of the people still applies today.
