You wouldn’t expect Festus to carry anything but a revolver, would you? This Festus, from Atlanta, totes a Ruger LCR with its amazingly good trigger in a DeSantis holster and a stripper clip with five extra rounds. That should handle just about any situation.

  1. My wife carries the LCR .357 loaded with Remington .38 +P’s and a couple of speedloaders. The Hornady XTP .357 bruised her hand pretty good.

  2. Why do people with five-shot revolvers only put five rounds in their speed strip? It’s not like the sixth round takes up a whole bunch of space or makes the speed strip harder to use. One of the nice things about a revolver is that you don’t have to wait until it’s empty or do a full reload. You can top it off, or you can load that last round by itself if you really need it. I can’t think of a situation where the sixth round in the speed strip would be detrimental.

    • I load my speed strips with 6. I started doing that because I have 5 and 6 round revolvers. All in .38. Life is simpler that way.

  3. OR, one could pack an LCR in .327 Federal Magnum. Potent round and the cylinder holds 6. So, go ahead and add that 6th boolit in the speed strip. I do.
