  1. I once heard of three dumb ass gangbangers playing russian roulette with a 1911, and now there is one less gangbanger. (I’m willing to bet ALL my guns that the first dummy got it good)

  2. Sometimes, it’s Russian Roulette. Sometimes, it’s suicide. Sometimes, it’s just plain stoooooooopid.

  3. The article says he thought the gun was UNloaded, which contradicts the Russian Roulette claim the article also makes.

  4. I spent a number of years in broadcasting. I’m also a professional musician. In both pursuits we have a saying – always assume a microphone is “on,” meaning never shoot your mouth off around one. I think any adult who treats a gun as if it’s not always loaded and subsequently shoots themselves, pretty much gets what they deserve. Think of it as Darwinism in action.

But actually, the story only says the victim “thought the gun was unloaded.” If you were going to play Russian Roulette (and expect to live) you’d either think the gun WAS unloaded, or that the next chamber to come up would be empty. So I don’t think the headline contradicted anything.

  5. Of course no one around here ever did something crazy like that.

To listen to you guys, you’d think ALL gun owners were COMPLETELY responsible ALL the time. We know that’s not true just by reading the news, but c’mon weren’t any of you young and foolish once upon a time? Didn’t any of you ever do regrettable things and live to talk about it.

Please don’t anybody tell Bob S. that I’m asking about your pasts. He’d say that means I have to talk about mine, a particular logic of his that I don’t really follow.

    • Wow. You think the readers of this site played Russian roulette in their “wild and crazy” days? You really do have a mistaken idea about the average gun owner. And Bob S. is right. If you want to troll (in more ways than one) for personal anecdotes about TTAG’s Armed Intelligentsia it IS time for you to come clean about your own firearms history. Did you ever own guns? Or use them in some professional capacity?
