From the Second Amendment Foundation . . .

The Second Amendment Foundation has launched a nationwide outreach effort to remind America’s gun owners that “Gun Rights Depend On You,” while urging them to “Demand the Courts Protect the 2A.”

The message is already appearing online at the Washington Times, Breitbart, TownHall, Newsmax, BearingArms and Drudge, according to SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb.

“This campaign will reach more than 8.3 million people,” Gottlieb estimated. “It would be a significant step forward in our ongoing outreach effort to educate gun owners that the defense of their constitutional right to keep and bear arms ultimately rests in their hands.

“The campaign urges people to support the Second Amendment Foundation’s case currently in front of the Supreme Court to overturn Maryland’s ban on many semi-automatic firearms,” he said. “This case would also impact many bans on firearms in other states as well.

“Right now,” he continued, “we have more than 30 active court cases challenging various gun control laws on Second Amendment grounds, in several states, including California, Washington, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland. It is our intention to raise public awareness and grab the attention of various courts so these cases don’t end up gathering dust in some perpetual state of ‘pending’ action.”

The platforms where SAF’s message is now appearing are viewed daily by millions of people, and they can be entirely different audiences at each publication or website. Gottlieb says this puts SAF’s call to action in front of a widely diverse cross section of the public. Go here to support this important SAF effort.

“The Second Amendment Foundation has been on the cutting edge of gun rights litigation since our Supreme Court victory in McDonald v. City of Chicago in 2010,” Gottlieb said. “We fully intend to continue our education and litigation efforts wherever and whenever the opportunity and/or necessity arises. Defending the right to keep and bear arms is a full-time job, and we want our important legal work to advance.”

  1. Gun rights and the Second Amendment does and always has been dependent on the general population. There is a misconception that without the orgs like GOA, SAF, and even the NRA we will lose the right.

It’s all about how you vote. When the majority vote anti-American then the 2A and all other aspects of The Constitution become in danger. Every vote for Democrats is a vote against America. The orgs can’t change that.

    • Yes Prndll, and the bad political game going on in Florida presently is a good example as to whom can be trusted. Seems that these days there are RINOs here, there and everywhere.

  2. Prndll, it’s a muti-front offensive to keep our rights. All of them. And you’re right, it is about the vote. But, the .orgs can make a difference. Just be careful about which you join.

    • …‘Gadsden Flag’ is still trying to figure out how to cancel his Grindr membership.

        • avatar Geoff "A day without an obsessed, obviously brain-damaged and mentally-ill demented troll (who deserves to live in New Jersey) PR

Have you noticed how obsessed he is with other’s private lives? Someone who had a normal, fulfilling life wouldn’t have the time to do that.

It’s almost like the guy has no friends and just sits in front of his computer to burn the empty hours in his pathetic life… 🙂

    • Since guns are so bad perhaps we should ban the people of Ukraine from having them. A gun kind of levels the playing field between a Ukrainian and a Russian soldier. Maybe if a “gun controller” would explain how evil guns are to Putin ……

  3. Attention Allen Gottlieb et al…Perhaps ending the ability for Gun Control to bully around the 2A would be by defining Gun Control according to its history of rot?

Until the mention of Gun Control in America brings to mind images of slave shacks, nooses, concentration camps and the like expect an agenda rooted in racism and genocide to continue calling the shots…especially in high places.

  4. Since, my what? I know it’s a troll, but you’re too simple for me. I don’t get it. What’s a Grindr membershp? Why should I care? Why do you know what it is? If it’s even a thing. And why did you even bring it up?

    • A grinder is what some civil war guys had in the buttstocks of their rifles.
I love the smell of fresh coffee in the morning , forget that napalm stuff.

      • Possum, you the damndest things. Mark R. was killing damn yankees all weekend at the Natural Bridge battlefield. They must be a stupid breed. They’ve lost every year since the original battle. My great grandfather fought there. He was sixteen. I think he just got tired of killing the idiots. Threw them back into the sea. Tallahassee was the only CSA capital not captured by the northern aggressors. Eventually surrendered, but never captured.

  5. How About We Support Each Other?
    Hi…I’m Karen…Jack Miller’s great granddaughter
and I’m writing a book about The Truth of what really happened surrounding US v. Miller.

I’ve been working for several years with the brilliant Prof Brian L. Frye to tell the true events of this case.

Unbelievably, while doing research I uncovered boxes of letters, documents and original news paper clippings from the 1930″s showing what really happened.

Stay tuned for my Kickstarter campaign which will be launched in three days…Brian and I feel this is a great way to get support to write Jack’s story.

It’s time the truth about US v. Miller is revealed…

    • If this is true it’s a great idea and I’m interested to say the least. That is a story that needs to be told.

      • HI. Thanks for your wonderful response. It’s absolutely true. You are going to be in for quite a shock. Several years ago I started researching after having a lifetime of great conversations with Jack’s oldest daughter who is my grandmother and an eye witnessto a whole mother load of things that happened. I began documenting everything and it filled in the blanks like a puzzle. I’ve researched for years and Brian Frye who wrote The Peculiar Story of US v. Miller was absolutely blown away. It’s heartbreaking and it makes me so proud to do this for Jack…..Thank you so much…

  6. Karen, as long as you don’t ask for money up front. Write a book. Have it printed in a reputable publishing house. I’ll buy a copy. If it’s good I’ll buy more copies as gifts for friends. I, too, hope you’re for real.

  7. Gadsden Flag,
Thank you for your comment. Tragically, it is true. I struggle writing this because I want badly to tell you everything, but for Jack’s sake I must wait.

    Grandma witnessed so much…horrific things.
She kept every single document, letters after he was arrested on April 18th, 1938…so much more you’ll have to wait and read, I’m afraid.

To be very clear, this book is not about making money, although if it does we plan on doing something special for people in his honor. I have this deep yearning inside to just yell it out, respectfully and not worry about a book…

This is a heartbreaking, courageous story which tells what people in a position of power can do..

You’ll see pictures of all documents, personal letters and original newspaper clippings that are no longer available. You will also see his gun as we have preserved it since my grandma received it after his death.

I have a feeling you’ll like the Jack Miller our family knew and loved, as well as so many people in Oklahoma…especially the Cherokee people.

Thank you for your kind words. And know when I visit Jack’s grave tomorrow I’ll tell him about all this.

    Karen
