“Je suis Charlie” (French pronunciation: [ʒə sɥi ʃaʁli], French for “I am Charlie” or “I follow Charlie”) is a slogan and logo created by French art director Joachim Roncin and adopted by supporters of freedom of speech and freedom of the press after the 7 January 2015 shooting in which twelve people were killed at the offices of the French satirical weekly newspaper Charlie Hebdo. It identifies a speaker or supporter with those who were killed at the Charlie Hebdo shooting, and by extension, a supporter of freedom of speech and resistance to armed threats. Some journalists embraced the expression as a rallying cry for the freedom of self-expression.[2]
Sadly, most French citizens went around repeating that and not doing anything about it. The maker of this slug is doing something, he’s trying to develop a better slug to shoot back at terrorists. Tauofledermaus had tested more effective slugs than his, but the maker certainly deserves more respect for doing something than the average Frenchman who simply repeats the slogan and merely shrugs his/her shoulders when asked what they’re actually doing about it.
After that, the coordinated mass shootings at the Betancourt Theater and other places in Paris, and the mass murders by the truck driver in Nice, the French should be filling the streets with people demanding the right to self defense – with their own gun – for law abiding citizens.
It’s a friggin 12 gauge slug. Why would it need to fragment? I mean, really.
