From the CCRKBA . . .

Only hours after the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms blasted the Biden administration’s attempt to eliminate funding for school hunter education and archery programs, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed bipartisan legislation to prevent the cuts, and now the White House has confirmed President Biden will sign the Protecting Hunting Heritage and Education Act.

The bill passed the House 424-1 Tuesday. It was championed by members of both parties who recognized the administration had deliberately misinterpreted tenets of the 2022 Bipartisan Safer Communities Act to cut funding for hunter safety, archery and other student programs.

“Joe Biden may be incapable of reading the writing on the wall,” said a jubilant CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, “but there is no question the House and Senate members who almost unanimously passed this legislation do not suffer from the same foggy vision.”

Gottlieb offered kudos to lawmakers who acted swiftly this week to “nip this nonsense in the bud.” He called the administration’s attempt to cut this important funding “one more example of Biden administration’s extremist sentiments toward any program even remotely connected to activities that may involve the lawful use of firearms. Only one vote was cast against the House version of the bill, by a Texas Democrat.

“This overwhelming action on Capitol Hill sends a clear message to the Biden White House that the administration’s anti-gun fanaticism has crossed the line when it threatens school programs that teach genuine safety and valuable conservation to our children,” Gottlieb said. “CCRKBA is proud to have played a part in this clear victory of common sense over crass extremism.”

The Senate version was introduced earlier this month by Senators John Cornyn (R-Texas), Krysten Sinema (I-Arizona) and Thom Tillis (R-North Carolina). A separate measure had been introduced by Montana Democrat Jon Tester. Congressman Mark Green (R-Tennessee) introduced the House version last month.

  1. I’m impressed that the Senate was unanimous on this one.

D’s seem to be waking up to the reality that it’s time to panic about next year.

    • strych9, keep in mind that the dems may be waking up, but they are very near sighted.
After next year it will be just more of the same ol same ol.

      • That’s no myopia. It’s an electoral plan to lie.

        Always has been.

The smarter Dems are very confused. Biden’s the oddest albatross in history and they’re wearing him like a fancy necklace at a cocktail party.

        • Once this ball got rolling, even hardcore anti-2A dems realized it was gonna pass the house, and either pass the Senate or torpedo several Senate D’s if it didn’t do so. So everybody got on board.

Plus the admin’s actions have permanently killed any possibility of “bipartisan” legislation in this space: rubes like Cornyn trusted that the feds would operate in good faith under the new law . . . and then the administration’s SJW’s gleefully went and did crap like this!

Dems voting for this bill is an attempt, however feeble, to say to the GOP rubes stupid enough work with them, “hey, *we’re* not the ones who screwed this up!” (And unfortunately, idiots like Cornyn will probably believe them.)

The White House “announcing” that they would sign it is rich. Of course he’s gonna sign it — if he doesn’t, 434-1 and 100-0 votes ensured there would be the first and only veto override of his presidency.

        • @LBK, “The White House “announcing” that they would sign it is rich.”

Old game. The first instance I was aware of in real time was Bill Clinton vetoing welfare reform twice, then signing it when it was obvious there were enough votes for an override. Then, he ran on welfare reform as an accomplishment. That will indeed be next for Biden and the Dems. Games. I’m sure that crap is as old as civilization. Which doesn’t make it easier to stomach perhaps, but it does provide perspective.

      • What they want and what they think they can get away with on any given topic are two separate things.

Four, in fact, if you include a consideration of timeline.

They’re not going to panic over the border because that’s going exactly to plan and they’re well aware that it’s almost impossible to undo anyway. It’s an area where they’ll take a short term loss for a long term gain.

        • “They’re not going to panic over the border because that’s going exactly to plan…”

What’s NOT going to plan are their own drones in NYC and other places demanding they stop dumping them on their front lawns. The sheen of being all “Tolerant and accepting of others not like themselves” goes away real fast when their young teen daughters aren’t so tolerant of being fuck-puppets to a gang of violent smelly thugs who have *zero* interest in assimilating with local folks who do strange things like show up for work on time everyday to pay the mortgage… 🙂

        • Oh, and the trend of Blacks being fed-up with the Democrat party is accelerating. Add to that the trend of the immigrant surge from down south to be devout Catholics, and wanting to be the kind of Americans we want, they are doing a bang-up job of alienating their own base.

And one last thing – It seems they did too good a job scaring the little people about the non-existent ‘Climate Catastrophe’, and they are behaving rationally, by choosing not to have as many kids as they normally would. That’s gonna bite them in ass big-time in 20 years or less at the polls, as those on the right don’t alter their reproductive plans… 🙂

        • They didn’t count on red states exporting migrants directly to large blue cities and deep blue resort areas because historically red states just take the beating.

Shipping out illegals was a master stroke by Florida and Texas.

You can tell that this is true by how they’re trying to call it “human trafficking”. That’s exactly the flak you take when you’re over the target.

    • “D’s seem to be waking up to the reality that it’s time to panic about next year.”

It will be ironic as hell if their deranged desire to get Biden elected in 2020 at all costs (the blatant cheating) ends up costing them with Trump winning again this time, but this time, with a Supreme Court balance of 7-2, at a *minimum*, as exits the WH in 2028… 🙂

      • Guess what Geoff, the already established illegal immigrants dont want the new illegal immigrants. As was quoted to me driving back from job finished ” If I see one mor of deese construction crews taking my jobs,,,ieeeee,, dis is reeling making me mad.”

        • It’s true. Sadly, there are many in our society who freely express their selfishness:

“OK, now that I’m on the lifeboat it’s time to pull up the rope!”

“In an appearance this weekend at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) gave a speech decrying the very government benefits she grew up with. “We’re here to tell government: ‘We don’t want your benefits. We don’t want your welfare,’” Boebert shouted to the Dallas crowd. “Don’t come to us with your Fauci ouchie. Leave us the hell alone!” It’s a classic case of conservative hypocrisy, especially as Boebert frequently boasts of growing up on welfare.“

Now that Lauren Boebert is on the life boat, she says it’s time to cut welfare even though as a child her family relied on the welfare program:

          “Lauren Boebert
          @laurenboebert
I’m living the American dream. I came up from welfare, standing in line waiting for government cheese, to now running for Congress.“

          https://www.themarysue.com/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-blasts-lauren-boebert-for-cpac-rant-against-benefits/

          Hypocrisy, thy name is Republican.

      • Neither outcome would surprise me.

Normies are mad as Hell at Biden. OTOH, “Covid” voting rules in swing states are now [semi] permanent and heavily favor the Democrat’s ground game.

The GOP does have people who’ve recognized this and are responding, in two election cycles instead of two plus presidential cycles too. That’s actually some sort of miracle/divine intervention/pact with the Devil. I’m not sure who did what to make that happen, but someone moved mountains behind the scenes, especially considering that Ronna McDaniel kept her job.

The GOP is also starting, slowly, to deploy tech. Some people who helped the Dems on the tech front when young have aged out of that party and into the other.

The real question, IMHO, is which version of self-preservation wins. The one where they have to let the GOP win to avoid a backlash or the one where loads of them end up in prison if they lose.

      • “(the blatant cheating)“

Thankfully, the federal and state courts are rolling up the cheaters right now, and Trump and his co-conspirators will be on trial in Georgia where the proceedings will be televised.

Maybe this is a good time for Mike Lindell and Rudy Giuliani to finally bring forth their “very compelling evidence” of election theft.

“loads of them end up in prison“

From your lips to goddess’s ear…

        • Thankfully, members of congress are trying to roll up that criminal Biden and his criminal enterprise and indirectly the many complicit democrats trying to protect that criminal Biden.

        • “Is there a particular crime that you could speak of the evidence?”

Money laundering, human trafficking, influence peddling, unregistered foreign agent, bribery, just to name a few as there is a long list…. you evidently have not been watching the house hearings. Its all documented in the criminals own words, videos, audio recordings, bank records, witness testimony, emails, text messages, FBI (who tried to cover it up) and IRS (who tried to cover it up) investigation records, in informants testimony …. the Biden criminal sold out the whole country and then lied about it on national TV and in press conferences and in media to the American people as that Biden criminal was raking in millions of dollars from their crimes.

        • We have crossed the Rubicon. I no longer fight it. I hope you get what you wish. You think you are immune.

    • That’s what I was thinking. The Dems must be in full panic mode. Kind of reminds me of the Dems here in Iowa back in 2011(?) passing shall issue CCW. Didn’t work for them, we booted them out in ’12 anyway and haven’t looked back.

  2. better read that thing really well. the democrats probably put something in there saying the money could only be allocated if patents turn in all their guns or all the kids had gender change surgery or something else that can be conviently ‘mis interpreted’.

  3. White House has confirmed President Biden will sign the Protecting Hunting Heritage and Education Act.

RFK Jr saying he will run as an Independent has them all hiding under their desks… Why does a traditional Democrat scare them so much? Constitutional absolutist, anti-Vaxxer, not my guy but he’ll get the moderate Dems and anti-Trump Independents (a Left-Wing Ross Perot)… Bribem knows he’s dead in the water so he’ll move back toward the center to try to mitigate some of the damage and destruction he has caused, fortunately (for the country) it’s too late…

    • Inconvenient Kennedys unfortunately have a place in history. Hope not as he is correct on the vax issues (and the need to actually do control group testing with placebo instead of a previous vaccine version).

        • Notice the difference in spelling, one is by newer standards that do not require immunity merely “protection” the other is what people have thought vaccines were for decades. For the latter what few product safety tests are done use previous iterations of the product as the placebo so the adverse events are similar and not measured against a true placebo. The vax didn’t even have that level of testing. Either way we don’t get a clear picture of product risk vs reward since at least the 80’s and possibly earlier.

  4. I’m not sure I understand. When I was in school we skipped to go hunting. Even If we didn’t skip we went hunting as soon as they turned us loose. None of us needed a hunter education class. We already knew how to do it.

    • We hunted before and after school. We also kept our loaded rifles in the back window of our unlocked trucks…On school property. Not one accidental or mass shooting. When someone got a new boom stick everyone would go out to look at it during the lunch break, including teachers and admin.

      • Wadja do with any game you scored in the morning? Store it in the lunch room fridge? I think some kids kept em in their gym lockers judging by the stench!

    • “None of us needed a hunter education class. We already knew how to do it.”

Yeah, we don’t need it, but who does are those in the major cities that have no hunting ‘culture’.

I personally want safe gun handling mandatory in the public schools around freshmen in highschool time…

      • “I personally want safe gun handling mandatory in the public schools around freshmen in highschool time… “

        I agree with your suggestion.

Further, I would say that parents could opt their kids out of the program if they wished…
But the kids would not have the right to carry weapons in public spaces until they had passed the course either during school or after they graduate.

        • @Miner49er

“But the kids would not have the right to carry weapons in public spaces until they had passed the course either during school or after they graduate.”

Evidently you do not understand the concept of inherent inalienable rights and think ‘rights’ are something to be granted by government as a permission. That lack of understanding is pretty normal for a person who thinks we should live under a tyranny and has in reality absolutely zero knowledge or respect for the constitution.

Such training is a good thing but it has nothing at all to do with inherent inalienable rights.

        • @Miner49er

“Further, I would say that parents could opt their kids out of the program if they wished…”

You have absolutely zero knowledge of this subject. Parents have always been able to ‘opt their kids out’ of this even in the previous almost 100 years now when it was still under the label of ‘hunter safety’ or ‘rifle team’ in various forms in schools across the nation.

        • ~98% of law abiding gun owners have received safety training for firearms at some point in their lives – (collectively) either directly by school programs, or by their parents or others, or community programs, or in ancillary offered programs (e.g. boy/girl scouts), or, for today’s world, online or by simply taking a class in person someplace. ~76% of law abiding firearms owners have received some form of advanced training in firearms use and handling. And its a lot better training and instills a more personal deeper and more aware and more respectful skill of safety than any ‘mandatory state/government’ ever has.

Miner49er acts like it never happens. That stuff you see from anti-gun or in the media for (broadly) ‘unsafe acts with firearms’ is less than 4% of gun owners, and its greatly amplified by anti-gun and the media to imply there is no safety training that happens when in reality it does and has been happening ‘within the gun community’ (collectively) with the times, in some form, since the country was founded.

        • Training “online”?

          No thank you.

“You have absolutely zero knowledge of this subject. Parents have always been able to ‘opt their kids out”

We weren’t discussing the current situation, we were discussing a hypothetical scheme requiring mandatory training in freshman high school, pay attention.

        • and you were saying parents should be able to opt out, and they can mandatory or not, its a matter of substituting something else because its not a core thing.

You have absolutely zero knowledge of this subject. Parents have always been able to ‘opt their kids out.

        • “You have absolutely zero knowledge of this subject. Parents have always been able to ‘opt their kids out.“

          Really?

So tell me, what American public High school currently requires mandatory firearms training in their freshman year?

That is, they require every student to take firearms training unless specifically opted out by their parents.

        • Interesting how the LGBTQxzy crowd demand children be forced to attend h0m0sexu@l education classes.
In fact they demand the parents be prosecuted, sued, for trying to remove their children from these sex classes.

    • You would think whoever posed that picture at the top would know the kid ought to be the one carrying the bird…

  5. So Bidumb says he’ll sign it, whoop-de-do.
Probably the only reason is that he knows, or rather his handlers know, a veto would be over-ridden, so you have to appear all in agreement.

  6. and while they were at it they could have clarified that unconstitutional exploit language that the ATF is using to make everyone who sells their own personal property gun a ‘gun dealer’

  7. An incident that happened underscores that you can not depend on the police or a law to protect you. Luckily, she and daughter were not harmed by this knife wielding ‘attacker’ because they were behind a closed locked door. But on that same day across the nation there were ~1,200 that were not so lucky against their knife wielding attackers, even with employing pepper spray or stun guns or trying to run away or fight back hand-to-hand-combat or complying with the attackers demands, and were seriously injured (some killed) by their knife wielding attackers, and ~300 that were armed with a firearm and employed DGU and all of them escaped injury – and not a one of those made the news but they reside in police reports. Just remember, the police are not going to be there to protect you in that imminent moment of defense need even if you somehow were able to call 911 (not even for you anti-gun folks) – you are your own first responder and the only one you can rely on in that imminent moment of defense need.

  8. Weak politicians hate kids being raised strong. That’s the bottom line to the attack on this program.
