Senate Joins House in Overturning Administration’s School Hunting Program Cuts, Biden Says He’ll Sign It

1. I’m impressed that the Senate was unanimous on this one.

   D’s seem to be waking up to the reality that it’s time to panic about next year.

         Plus the admin’s actions have permanently killed any possibility of “bipartisan” legislation in this space: rubes like Cornyn trusted that the feds would operate in good faith under the new law . . . and then the administration’s SJW’s gleefully went and did crap like this!

         Dems voting for this bill is an attempt, however feeble, to say to the GOP rubes stupid enough work with them, “hey, *we’re* not the ones who screwed this up!” (And unfortunately, idiots like Cornyn will probably believe them.)

         The White House “announcing” that they would sign it is rich. Of course he’s gonna sign it — if he doesn’t, 434-1 and 100-0 votes ensured there would be the first and only veto override of his presidency.

         Old game. The first instance I was aware of in real time was Bill Clinton vetoing welfare reform twice, then signing it when it was obvious there were enough votes for an override. Then, he ran on welfare reform as an accomplishment. That will indeed be next for Biden and the Dems. Games. I’m sure that crap is as old as civilization. Which doesn’t make it easier to stomach perhaps, but it does provide perspective.

       Normies are mad as Hell at Biden. OTOH, “Covid” voting rules in swing states are now [semi] permanent and heavily favor the Democrat’s ground game.

       The GOP does have people who’ve recognized this and are responding, in two election cycles instead of two plus presidential cycles too. That’s actually some sort of miracle/divine intervention/pact with the Devil. I’m not sure who did what to make that happen, but someone moved mountains behind the scenes, especially considering that Ronna McDaniel kept her job.

       The GOP is also starting, slowly, to deploy tech. Some people who helped the Dems on the tech front when young have aged out of that party and into the other.

       The real question, IMHO, is which version of self-preservation wins. The one where they have to let the GOP win to avoid a backlash or the one where loads of them end up in prison if they lose.

       • Notice the difference in spelling, one is by newer standards that do not require immunity merely “protection” the other is what people have thought vaccines were for decades. For the latter what few product safety tests are done use previous iterations of the product as the placebo so the adverse events are similar and not measured against a true placebo. The vax didn’t even have that level of testing. Either way we don’t get a clear picture of product risk vs reward since at least the 80’s and possibly earlier.

7. I’m not sure I understand. When I was in school we skipped to go hunting. Even If we didn’t skip we went hunting as soon as they turned us loose. None of us needed a hunter education class. We already knew how to do it.

   • We hunted before and after school. We also kept our loaded rifles in the back window of our unlocked trucks…On school property. Not one accidental or mass shooting. When someone got a new boom stick everyone would go out to look at it during the lunch break, including teachers and admin.

       But the kids would not have the right to carry weapons in public spaces until they had passed the course either during school or after they graduate.

         Evidently you do not understand the concept of inherent inalienable rights and think ‘rights’ are something to be granted by government as a permission. That lack of understanding is pretty normal for a person who thinks we should live under a tyranny and has in reality absolutely zero knowledge or respect for the constitution.

         Such training is a good thing but it has nothing at all to do with inherent inalienable rights.

         You have absolutely zero knowledge of this subject. Parents have always been able to ‘opt their kids out’ of this even in the previous almost 100 years now when it was still under the label of ‘hunter safety’ or ‘rifle team’ in various forms in schools across the nation.

       • ~98% of law abiding gun owners have received safety training for firearms at some point in their lives – (collectively) either directly by school programs, or by their parents or others, or community programs, or in ancillary offered programs (e.g. boy/girl scouts), or, for today’s world, online or by simply taking a class in person someplace. ~76% of law abiding firearms owners have received some form of advanced training in firearms use and handling. And its a lot better training and instills a more personal deeper and more aware and more respectful skill of safety than any ‘mandatory state/government’ ever has.

         Miner49er acts like it never happens. That stuff you see from anti-gun or in the media for (broadly) ‘unsafe acts with firearms’ is less than 4% of gun owners, and its greatly amplified by anti-gun and the media to imply there is no safety training that happens when in reality it does and has been happening ‘within the gun community’ (collectively) with the times, in some form, since the country was founded.

10. An incident that happened underscores that you can not depend on the police or a law to protect you. Luckily, she and daughter were not harmed by this knife wielding ‘attacker’ because they were behind a closed locked door. But on that same day across the nation there were ~1,200 that were not so lucky against their knife wielding attackers, even with employing pepper spray or stun guns or trying to run away or fight back hand-to-hand-combat or complying with the attackers demands, and were seriously injured (some killed) by their knife wielding attackers, and ~300 that were armed with a firearm and employed DGU and all of them escaped injury – and not a one of those made the news but they reside in police reports. Just remember, the police are not going to be there to protect you in that imminent moment of defense need even if you somehow were able to call 911 (not even for you anti-gun folks) – you are your own first responder and the only one you can rely on in that imminent moment of defense need.
