RF kept me pretty busy scouting for gun gear at the SHOT Show, but I played hooky long enough to scope out at least a few fantastic new knives. Spyderco’s brand-new Domino is at or near the top of that list, but it isn’t the kind of knife we expect to see coming from Golden, Colorado: a frame-lock flipper. It’s no traditional Spidey, but it’s definitely Spinelli-worthy totally bitchin’. And pretty expensive.   1. It’s been in my pocket since I got it several months ago. My new favorite, and I’ve got more than 50 Spydies to choose from.

  4. I so want. That said I don’t think it will replace my favorite of all time EDC, the Al Mar Falcon Ultralight with the Talon blade. Incredibly sharp Japanese steel. It’s also incredibly light because it is liner less. So much so that you never feel it’s there with you so you have to be careful it does not go into the washing machine with your pants.

  5. By the way… This knife isn’t from Golden, Colorado. It’s from Taiwan. And the Taiwan Spydies are often the finest Spyderco has to offer.

    • You are correct, Sir. I should have specified the country of origin. Taiwanese knives from major knifemakers are typically outstanding.

      • Admittedly, I was being a bit pedantic. Spyderco, the company, is located in Golden, CO. To my knowledge their knives are produced in Golden, Taiwan, China, and Japan. My favorites are from Golden and Taiwan.

  6. I got the SOGzilla instead; it opens every bit as smoothly, is just as durable, and it doesn’t include a $150 surcharge for having a SpyderCo logo.

  8. I used to have a spyderco cricket. It was the smallest, wickedest knife I ever owned. Gave it to my sister when she was having issues with an ex. A kriss curve blade that was serrated, and all of a 1 5/8″ long blade.
