Three-term U.S. Senator Jon Tester, D-Montana, is in a fight for his political life. Testerâs Republican challenger, Tim Sheehy, a Navy SEAL combat veteran, has received strong support from GOP leadership and an endorsement from former President Donald J. Trump.
Testerâs seat is considered one of the most vulnerable in the Senate. One reason: Montanans love their guns, and Joe Biden â the titular head of Testerâs party â is the most anti-gun president the country has ever seen.
As a result, Tester has tried to tap dance around guns and Second Amendment issues. His reelection campaign even released a video that shows him traveling the state in an old pickup with a Model 99 Savage in a gunrack, while the narrator talks about Testerâs strong support for âgun safety and hunter education.â
Testerâs 2A tap dancing ended Friday at around 3 p.m., when he sent an email to his supporters announcing that Brady PAC would match campaign donations for 48 hours:

The move was somewhat hush-hush. Brady PACâs fund-matching agreement was not mentioned anywhere on Testerâs reelection website, and Tester was not included in a list of endorsed candidates on Brady PACâs website.
Brady PAC, âis dedicated to a singular goal: creating a safer America by supporting and investing in candidates who are committed to enacting, improving, and defending Gun Violence Prevention (GVP) policies across the country,â according to its website.

Itâs not too much of a stretch to say most Montanans do not support Brady PACâs goals, especially âuniversal background checks and an assault weapon ban.â
Testerâs reelection campaign did not return calls or emails seeking to know why he is now accepting funds from one of the countryâs leading anti-gun groups.
Meanwhile, Sheehy has made his support for the Second Amendment clear:
âI will fight back against any attempt by liberal politicians like Joe Biden and Jon Tester from pursuing a radical gun control agenda that threatens our Second Amendment rights. Our right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. As a Navy SEAL who fought for our country and to protect our freedoms, this is a fundamental constitutional right that must and will always be protected under my watch,â Sheehyâs website states.

Buying a gun does not translate to 2nd Amendment support.
Maybe I’m missing something, but it looks to me like instead of him taking Brady money, he is fundraising FOR Brady. Which is even worse, as far as I’m concerned. He only say “a group of generous donors” are providing the match.

Thatâs how I read it too, but then copyediting (even simple proofreading) is a lost art. However, either way, itâs two sides of the same bad coin.
The next time you see something about anti-gun wanting to ban guns or tell you that you can not carry your gun, remember, they are advocating that you not be able to defend your loved ones or your self and would prefer your loved ones or you die. Because monsters are real, you need to be able to defend against them, you need to be able to kill them if necessary… yes, monsters are real and here’s one of them.

Mitch McConnellâs handpicked candidate – If true the race between Tester and a RINO (at best). Interesting that Tester whines about the chin/spineless McConnell and NOT the Trump endorsement.
Iâve lived in Montana for 32 years. MT is full of democrats who own a pump shotgun and a bolt action elk rifle and think you shouldnât be able to own anything else. Tester is just a stooge who votes the Dem party line and supports whatever Chuck & Nancy tell him to do. I canât wait to vote this November. I live in a super liberal University town but luckily Iâm only 20min from the real Montana.
