In perhaps what should have been the first video in the series, I give you my answer when I’m asked, “well, what is the truth about guns?” What’s your answer?

Watch the video embedded above, or click HERE to view it on Rumble. Visit Silencer Shop for the best prices and the easiest, most streamlined suppressor buying process in the country.

By the way, we’ll be launching a “studio” video like this one every Monday afternoon and a range video (like last week’s nightstand gun safe review) every Thursday afternoon. Subscribe on Rumble to see ’em before their associated TTAG articles go live.

  1. “well, what is the truth about guns?”

Is somebody gonna reply/comment, “we believe facts over truth; and that’s the truth”?

  2. The truth About Guns is:
Guns have allowed for Americans to establish ,build and live in a free country . Guns gave us our freedoms we have today. God Guns and Guts made America free. At any cost, keep all three. That is the indisputable truth about guns.

    • @ .40 cal Booger….well, start off ask the Chinese, the first devices identified as guns appeared in China from around CE 1000. The first device identified as a gun, a bamboo tube that used gunpowder to fire a spear, appeared in China around AD 1000. By the 12th century, the technology was spreading through the rest of Asia, and into Europe by the 13th century….. As far as the word (“gun”) the origin of the English word gun is considered to derive from the name given to a particular historical weapon. Domina Gunilda was the name given to a remarkably large ballista, a mechanical bolt throwing weapon of enormous size, mounted at Windsor Castle during the 14th century. This name in turn was derived from the Old Norse woman’s proper name Gunnhildr (Viking bad’ass women) which combines two Norse words referring to battle. In any case the term gonne or gunne was applied to early hand-held firearms by the late 14th or early 15th century. And like the old radio broadcaster Paul Harvey would say…..and you know the rest of the story!

  3. That is the truth about Glocks.

There is truth and reality. There is fact and opinion. Guns are a reflection of humanity and can be every bit as complex. For the simplicity of a machine so entrenched, it holds has an over extended arc against governments and populations. Both loved and hated, revered and feared. Always working in the minds of the talented moving towards perfection in synchronization with human technological advancement.

They are force multipliers and the perfect way to level a playing field of one-on-one. They carry a learning curve and are among the most versatile tools ever devised. Books have been written and laws decreed. Much discussion had. If nothing else, they are not going away. They are here to stay.

  4. Can’t believe a word he says. Starts off saying he’s a deputy editor or some such. He ain’t no deputy though. No badge, no star, not white hat, and he ain’t got no horse named Trigger. No tobacco products either!

  5. When the people have guns there are tragedies, when the people do not have guns there are genocides.

  6. All I hear is Jack Nicholson yelling “YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!” And if he were yelling at Hollywood in general and a large collection of coastal states, he would be mostly right.

  7. “When the people have guns there are tragedies, when the people do not have guns there are genocides.”

    Really like that couplet. However……

How do we explain/interpret that to accommodate that all of what we used to call “Western Europe” has, draconian gun control laws, yet none have launched government initiated genocide of the populace.

Are we seeing a dis-coordinated exhibition of “playing the long game”, waiting for an in determinant number of years, decades, eras, epochs to elapse, and then the great genocides begin? None of the former “Western Europe” nations are rounding up deplorables, sending them to camps, and exterminating the unsalvageable. We do see that happening in what we would call “undeveloped” nations.

Is there a realistic threat that the US will become like North Korea, China, or other communist-like nation in the next [pick your own interval]? Are we being distracted by “the shiny object”, while the real evil is metastasizing elswhere?

  8. You can say anything about guns and call it the “truth about guns”.

You can bring up all sorts of historical significance and call it the “truth about guns”.

You can even bring up the obvious simple function aspect about guns and present it as if its a profound thing like Jeremy does in the video and call it the “truth about guns”.

But the truth is its not about the “Truth About Guns”, but rather at its roots its the truth about history of mankind and society quest for survival.

The evolution of, and even today, our constitution and all aspects of society and mankind is all here today because we survive. We used tools to survive and the primary survival tool throughout history has always been a tool that could overcome what the resistance or threat was and that eventually bought us firearms which still today remains the only known survival tool that has the best chance of success against a deadly force threat.

Guns exist as a tool used for survival in different aspects be it self-defense or defense against an oppressive government or used offensively by a government regime or people for survival of their own agenda or living-off-the-land-survival or continuation survival of a sport involving guns – and many things in between and beyond which support these underlying concepts in some way.

Early man started it all when they first discovered the use of tools to hunt. Personal survival tools have been with us throughout our history evolving from bare hands to a rock then a club, then a spear, then a sword, then a bow, then firearms and all sorts of things in between and for those. There is a reason each of those not firearms eventually became less effective or no longer preferred as a primary survival tool, its because as man and society evolved and became more complicated so did the things we need to survive against. Even the founding fathers understood this and included the Second Amendment to preserve the individual right to have guns as a survival tool against that which would endanger the fundamental natural right to defense for protection of life and/or liberty.

Mankind and society has not become the panacea or utopia the dreamers wanted it to be. In fact there has never been an actual “panacea or utopia” society in the history of man kind because the nature of man kind has always been with us. There is no solution or fix any government can come up with that will suppress the human nature of those who violently prey upon society and endanger our survival. Today we are faced with the need to survive just as we have been through history, especially in the aspect of crime preying on society at large.

You can look at guns in any aspect and start breaking it down, and it will always come back to the survival aspect in some way being at the root of all of it.

After all the talk is done about how guns are this or that and this persons truth and that persons truth or someone wanting us to have that survival tool gun or not have that survival tool gun – anyone who has ever been forced to use a gun to save their life or the life of another can tell you in the end the truth about guns is survival.

  9. I follow Shane’s explanation with an exaggerated analogy. A gun is a tool, no different than a hammer. If I have a hammer I can build houses for the homeless, or I can beat a homeless man to death. Both may eventually solve homelessness, but, if I have a moral compass that hammer threatens nothing but my thumb. Like a Garand.

  10. The Truth? It’s Our God Given Right To Own, Carry And Use One. That’s the Truth right there.

How and what you use it, is up to you.
