The Seventh Conference of the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty will reconvene August 30 to September 3, 2021 in Geneva, Switzerland. The Obama administration was a fan of UN arms control and then-Secretary of State John Kerry signed the treaty. But then Obama’s gun control agenda floundered in his second term, when in 2014 Republicans gained 13 new U.S. House seats and regained a majority in the U.S. Senate. After being sent to the Senate, the UN treaty sat there with no expectation of it every being ratified.

President Trump was elected in 2016 and, speaking at the National Rifle Association meeting on April 26, 2019, he announced that he would “un-sign” the treaty. Trump kept this promise and requested the treaty be returned by the Senate. On July 18, 2019, Trump notified the UN that the U.S. had terminated its legal obligations under the treaty.

In short, for years the UN has been trying to formalize a global, civilian disarmament measure under the Arms Trade Treaty. The Obama administration saw it as a way of circumventing the legislative process and the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

The UN has trampled on and dictated national policy to other sovereign nations in environmental, criminal, and even global tax issues. So why not, the globalist elite asked themselves, try to enforce universal gun control, even in America?

The fact of the matter is that the struggle to preserve the right to civilian gun ownership worldwide, including in the U.S., is an ongoing effort, and elitist, globalist organizations are bent on disarming and controlling citizens so as to make their one-world-government dream a reality. As Gun Owners of America stated years ago, “It would be a mistake to believe that it spells the end of the effort to regulate small arms worldwide.”

GOA is correct.

Since the Democrats in 2021 are still pushing for ratification of the Treaty and gun control is very much on their agenda, Biden will likely re-sign this authoritarian UN Treaty in the next few months.

Unfortunately for those around the world, the feckless United Nations isn’t the only threat to gun rights. The European Union has already joined in the act, and all member nations are targeted — not just the pusillanimous Western nations and Scandinavia, but all of Europe where the EU holds sway.

Both the Czech Republic and Poland have expressed concerns and with good historic reasons.

In 1938, Czechoslovakia, mother country of the Czech Republic, was sacrificed and betrayed by its allies, Great Britain and France. Soon after British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, who was deceived by Hitler, returned to England with a piece of paper claiming that he had brought “peace in our time,” Czechoslovakia was invaded and the Nazis took all of Czechoslovakia.

The truth is that the Czechs could not be protected by the promises of her allies or their own military. Czechoslovakia became a giant armament factory and a fortress for the Nazis run by SS General Reinhard Heydrich, governor of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, until his assassination in 1942.

Poland followed suit in 1939, wiped off the map in the German Blitzkrieg. It was first invaded from the west by the German army, and then from the east by the Soviets. Thus, Poland was quickly subjugated by her collectivist, totalitarian neighbors. The Russian communists and Nazi Germany, which were allies and co-conspirators via the signed Molotov-Ribbentrop Treaty (aka., Non-Aggression Pact of 1939) succeeded in crushing and dismantling Poland and the Baltic nations.

After World War II, the masters were no longer the Nazis but the “liberating” Russian communists, who in the aftermath occupied by force much of central and all of eastern Europe using the Soviet army working in tandem with the KGB. The subjugated peoples were impoverished, disarmed, and enslaved.

With the exception of the Hungarian Uprising in 1956, which was quickly crushed, and the Prague Spring in 1968, which was also quickly suppressed, no other major upheaval threatening the Soviet empire until the 1980s with the rise of the Solidarity movement and the resurgence of the Roman Catholic church resistance to communism in Poland.

The wall finally fell in 1989. The Evil Empire, having rotted to the core, imploded from within and the final end of the USSR came in 1991.

So it is easy to comprehend the apprehension Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Poland, former trampled nations and Soviet satellites, feel when contemplating citizen disarmament by the mandates of an EU that is still dominated by socialistic Western Europe, Scandinavia, France, and Germany. And given their tragic histories, these nations are not easily going along with the EU’s authoritarian gun control dreams.

Indeed the EU, having passed the European Firearms Directive that went into effect on June 13, 2017, has imposed severe restrictions on the civilian gun ownership and made it very difficult for EU citizens to obtain a state-issued firearms license. Home and family protection and self-defense are no longer considered legitimate reasons for civilian gun ownership.

Two months after the directive was passed, the Czech Republic, that had promised to preserve its citizens’ right to gun ownership upon entering the EU, filed a legal challenge in the European Court of Justice to oppose the onerous gun control measures, demanding that the new gun controls be scrapped, postponed, or that certain countries be given exemptions from the measure.

In the summer of 2021, the Czech government moved to amend the country’s Constitution with a liberty Amendment that simply states, “the right to defend one’s life or the life of others, even with the use of weapons, is guaranteed.”

On July 21, 2021, the Czech Senate passed the measure with 54 of 74 Senators approving it. The lower House had already approved the Amendment on June 28, with 139 out of 148 legislators.

Since the amendment can be overruled by the EU, it will be difficult for the Czechs to exercise their new-found natural right to self- and collective defense. The idea is that the people can be trained in the use of arms and form a militia in collaboration with the country’s national armed forces, as an internal measure to combat terrorism and assist police in controlling crime.

I hope Poland, Hungary, and other awakening nations will follow suit, and that the U.S., which is seemingly going in the opposite direction under the Biden administration, doesn’t discard American rights and freedoms. The Czech example is a first step toward asserting the God-given natural right to armed self-defense and preservation of the freedom from authoritarian impingement of the globalist EU.

    • Kabul just fell to the Taliban.

The United States poured blood, and money into that country, only to watch as the Kenyan order Joe to surrender the country.

The Taliban now has an airforce consisting of numerous American helicopters, including attack helicopters MD-530F, armored vehicles including tanks, and American small arms, M-16’s, SAW’s, and Ma-Duece M-2’s.

Now it appears thousands of Americans have been abandoned in Afghanistan, and told to shelter in place. Official State Dept. Release:

Security Alert: U.S. Embassy Kabul (August 15, 2021)

      Location: Kabul

Event: The security situation in Kabul is changing quickly including at the airport. There are reports of the airport taking fire; therefore we are instructing U.S. citizens to shelter in place.

This is what nearly 3,000 dead Americans, and over a Trillion Dollars over 20 long years buys you.

      • General Miley said this would not happen.
Biden said this would not happen.

        Incompetent losers running our military,

Our soldiers, sailors, and airmen deserve far better.

        • Well, we did it all wrong from the start. Never should have stayed more than 6 or 9 months. We have forgotten what a punitive campaign is. Go in, bloody their noses badly, go for very specific targets (Osama bin Laden, in this case) then GTFO. Building nations is for chumps and empire builders.

        • @Paul
” Go in bloody their noses.”
          Nope
If “We” have to go in we should keep what they died for.
Shove our flag in the ground and say fck u.
          Complexities.
Why break their nose if you pay a sturgeon to fix it?

        • You either go in, kick their ass back to stone age, and get out.

Or you take the place and make it one of your own states.

Nothing in between. Half-done equals half-assed.

        • , kick their ass back to stone age

They were pretty much already in the stone age… Maybe the “Mesozoic” let em die off with the dinosaurs… As far as keeping that shithole? No thanks we’ve got enough “welfare” territories already…

      • The modern Democratic Party and its network of corporate-quango ancillaries aren’t governing our nation, they’re looting it.

      • All this because we spent 20 years propping up a government that didn’t give its own soldiers food or ammo. How could our military and political leadership shown such incompetence for that long?!

“It began with individual outposts in rural areas where starving and ammunition-depleted soldiers and police units were surrounded by Taliban fighters and promised safe passage if they surrendered and left behind their equipment, slowly giving the insurgents more and more control of roads, then entire districts.”

        • A better equipped army prolongs a conflict.
          Conflicts create revenue.
Russia is the second largest arms producer in the world.
          Second largest.

        • How could our military and political leadership shown such incompetence for that long?!

They’ve known exactly what they were doing… Kickbacks, payoffs (it’s called corruption not incompetence) It’s how SOME ex-POTUS and VPs could afford multi million dollar homes after leaving PUBLIC service, and it’s why Trump was shutting it down the right way… Now those fukkin towelheads have Hummers, Bradleys, Tanks, Howitzers, M4s, Helicopters… What the Hell were they thinking? All that sand, they could have dumped a couple pounds in the fuel tanks, melted barrels on big guns with termites and piled the small arms up with the ammo and had a bonfire… Oh well…

        • They had 20 years to come up with an exit strategy. This is yet another crisis created by our incompetent government.

        • had 20 years to come up with an exit strategy.

Trump HAD an exit strategy, Braindead blew it off because… TRUMP.

    • New Reality Title, when the going gets Tough the liberals Knuckle under and whimper while running away in disgrace and cowardice,…. See Kabul after Biden Gets Involved, Proof Positive !

  1. “In the summer of 2021, the Czech government moved to amend the country’s Constitution with a liberty Amendment that simply states, “the right to defend one’s life or the life of others, even with the use of weapons, is guaranteed.”’

HOORAY! and there ain’t no “BUT” in that either.

  2. Blue helmets make pretty good targets. And, after Srebinica, I’m not worried about the Dutch.

  3. Conservative patriots, be prepared, they mean to disarm the population. It may take them a few more election cycles, but soon they will in a position to do it, not by Constitutional amendment, but with mandated, regulation that block access, make it un-affordable or just take away your ability to purchase anything if you don’t get vaccinated or own a firearm They already own the technology to do it. It’s already happening, slowly so you don’t notice it.

    • NO. The progs (American Marxists) have abandoned the go slow boil. They are all for NOW. They know they will loose the House/Senate is an election was held THIS Nov.

    • They don’t have a few more election cycles, they’ve exposed themselves, people are reacting, starting to resist and they must move now or lose all the gains they’ve made over the last 90 years or so… It’s now or never and they are all in…

      • They opened up the border during a pandemic. Hell yeah they are all in. They’ve done such a great job at conditioning the zombie sheep, that they aren’t even complaining about THAT, but they’ll tell YOU to stay home and double mask in your home. Kids in cages anyone?

    • I wouldn’t say so much as in not noticing it but as in accepting .
We all know these gunm blogs, facebook’s and twitters are full of spy’s, yet we continue to use them. On Star, gps , all the techno goodies, download apps for rifle scopes integrated into the matrix.
Blind eye, not noticing, accepting, “Alexis ,what should I wear today?” laziness over freedom.

      • facebook’s and twitters are full of spy’s, yet we continue to use them.

No, WE don’t…. And the only Alexis that I ever “talked” to was a Raven haired beauty in bumfuk Arizona…. No On Star… GPS is off on my phone (but I know they can still track it by cell towers) and No electro gizmos for my firearms… Sorry to disappoint but I try to keep my electronic footprint as small as possible…

    • Hey speaking of fascists, Goebbels himself would be envious of how easily con artists like Mr. Pillowhead and Sidney Powell have done on you lot with the aid of the wholly un-American right wing propaganda machine. How embarrassing for you fools 🤣🖕.

        • Nuremberg 2.0 will lead to Nuremburg Trials 2.0, and Mr. Pierrepoint won’t be around to make them painless.

      • democRat muppit rurdork…Before you blow anymore smoke climb down from your ivory tower, open your wallet and make Monetary Reparations for the long, long despicable racist history of your democRat Party. Until you put your money where your piehole is you have no podium.

I’ll ask you the same question I asked the last pos just like you…From slavery to Jim Crow to the KKK to Eugenics to Gun Control to lynchings don’t you think a Black American belonging to the democRat Party makes as much sense as a Jew belonging to the nazi party? Spins won’t save you so answer or gfy.

      • con artists like Mr. Pillowhead and Sidney Powell have done on you lot

Actually “Mr. Pillowhead and Ms Powell” have nothing to do with MY views on the 2020 elections (?)… I rely on factual data reported by State authorities like 900 military ballots counted with 900 votes for Braindead (statistically impossible) and the resistance of the Democrats to ANY efforts to audit ANY ballots anywhere… I watched as the counting was halted in Atlanta and observers were run out due to a “bogus” water leak and then cases of ballots were dragged out and run through the machines over and over… I don’t have the time or the inclination to point out ALL of the ways YOUR ignorance is on display here, you are obviously not interested in facts… Bet you’re one of those “Hildabeast was cheated” clowns though, funny, no one resisted any recount efforts after the 2016 elections…

      • And Joseph Stalin, who killed far more people then Hitler, would be proud of you comrade for your left wing propaganda. But at least we right wingers have enough decorum to not flip off people who have different opinions then us, unlike liberals.

  4. The U.N. treaty actually has no authority over U.S. citizens.

The main reason, in context with the second amendment, Trump dumped it was that its got a history of being used by disarmament and anti-gun groups as a platform for litigation and political influence to restrict, limit, or remove a countries ability to sell arms to allies and partners and import/export arms. This is also the underlying reason the NRA wanted Trump to back out of it, because this would have an adverse affect on the firearms industry.

If this were to happen and the gun grabbers were to successfully use its platform “capability” it would affect the firearms industry greatly eventually killing it. The firearms industry overall can’t survive without the ability to sell arms to allies and partners and import/export arms. Prices would go through the roof as supplies dropped, ~ 90% or more of the people who want to be gun owners would be priced out of the market and would not be able to afford even the most inexpensive of guns thus effectively their 2A rights would be abolished. Without sales to individuals, and with losing the ability to to sell arms to allies and partners and import/export arms the firearms industry would eventually cease to exist.

    • The firearms industry would go underground just like every other illegal business. It could never hope to meet demand but it will never disappear completely.

    • This is a huge load of hogwash. Most gun companies don’t have military sales. Heck, most don’t even export. Colt killed itself by concentrating on government sales and ignoring the civilian market. Many foreign arms companies have already started American subsidiaries, partially to get around stupid US “sporting purpose” limits on imports. Sig Sauer, Inc is different than Sig Sauer, GmbH. FN America is independent of FN Herstal, the biggest exporter in the EU. Glock, HK, Beretta, even Taurus have done it. Some companies, like Springfield Armory, rely on imports and would be harmed. Other importers would need to move to US manufacturing.

The ATT has lots of bad stuff in it. 2A-wise, it could require registration of the end user for guns and possibly limit imports. Policy-wise, it limit US support of deserving causes, like Ukrainians, Kurds, anti-ISIS Syrians, etc. Totalitarian regimes like that it prevents arming their oppressed populations. Treaties need 2/3 of the Senate for ratification, so there’s almost no chance of it passing any time soon. It’s good to “un-sign” in case the Dems ever get a Senate supermajority again.

      • Most small companies don’t have military sales but its not only military sales we are talking about. All of them, that manufacture firearms, either import or export.

foreign arms companies with subsidiaries in the U.S. would be the first hit. All of their parts are imported.

        Parts would be affected too.

        • “foreign arms companies with subsidiaries in the U.S. would be the first hit. All of their parts are imported.”

to expand up this a little to explain. All of their parts are imported because the design is of foreign origin and the design of the part makes the part of foreign origin even if its made physically in the U.S. thus under U.S. law they are actually considered “imported”

        • The become law of the land IN EFFECT.

because they impose on congress to create laws that will also comply with the treaty.

        • Ratification Requires a two thirds majority of the states, so 34 or so…. you cannot get 34 states to agree on anything Except firearms liberty,…. 34 states recognize Each others CHL and have reciprocity,…. they don’t even recognize Vehicle Registrations, the feds had to take that over way back in the days of leather, “make your Own” and “Put A Foot in some Can”

    • Sorry, Jack, but you should research your claim more. Various local, state, and federal governments have signed agreements with the UN over the past 50 years. The first I heard of it, was the city of Cincinnati signing an agreement regarding the treatment of felons, and how a police department is supposed to operate. I’m not on top of this nonsense, but it has been going on for a long, long time.

IMO, no city, county, or state government should be making any agreement with the UN or any other foreign power. They are all subject to the United States government, not free to cut deals that undermine the constitution and the federal government.

      • President Obama has signed an executive order that allows for the US military to use force against American citizens for the first time in history.
The order was signed on July 1st, 2016 and is titled “Executive Order — United States Policy on Pre- and Post-Strike Measures to Address Civilian Casualties in U.S. Operations Involving the Use of Force“.

Read it, learn it, believe it….

        • MaddMaxx,
Posse commitatus prevents the Use of Armed force, which supercedes executive Orders, as Congressional law, Only the coast guard and Leo’s are allowed to be Armed off base, Coasties are NOT military but Homeland security…. but in the case of demonRATs they don’t believe in laws, I did have to study this after I tossed my M-16a1e1 and m-60 and a ma duece, and a few rounds of ammo (Okay four loaded mags, a belt of 7.62, and a belt of 50 cal) in my trunk and hit the Mac Dougals for a burger, off post before Standing that LOOOONG line at the arms room. Bn, Commander was pissed, Battery commander walked funny for a while, and I polished LOTS of brass, between classes about that law…. Pretty lucky I guess, It could have caused a Vacation in Leavenworth, Ks and I don’t mean that town

      • Agreements with the U.N. in the past are not the same as this treaty with the U.N.

        those are two different things.

  5. It appears the US Constitution provides that ratified treaties become “the law of the land”. How that happens is problematic. Treaties can be “self-executing”, or require enabling legislation by the US Congress/Legislature. Just as Congress is not prohibited from passing ordinary legislation that violates the US Constitution, so it is that provisions of a treaty may have a similar result. (The ride is the punishment).

Thus, as recent presidential orders have illustrated, unconstitutional actions can have effect, unless and until courts declare Executive Actions/Orders to be null and void, such unconstitutional acts have full force of law of the land. Therefore, and whereas, E Pluribus Unum, ipse dixit and ex post facto, yes, a treaty can override the Second Amendment (at least temporarily).

Part of the process of resolving a problematic treaty provision is whether the courts determine the treaty provision is within the realm of judicial review.

I could not find (in a quick search) any binding SCOTUS decision explicitly expressing the principle that no treaty can alter the constitutional rights of persons or individual states. If such a decision exists, one would think the question itself would no longer be presented as an item of controversy.

    • Treaties cannot supersede constitutional rights as that would take a constitutional convention to alter enumerated negative rights, the treaty process isn’t even close to a constitutional convention.
Having said that, see Reid v. Covert 1956 and Geofroy v. Riggs, both of these supreme court rulings upheld that the enumerations of rights in the United States Constitution are the supreme law of the land and provisions in treaties take a back-seat.

To quote a portion of the Reid Court:
“… No agreement with a foreign nation can confer power on the Congress, or any other branch of government, which is free from the restraints of the Constitution. Article VI, the Supremacy clause of the Constitution declares, “This Constitution and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all the Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land…’

“There is nothing in this language which intimates that treaties and laws enacted pursuant to them do not have to comply with the provisions of the Constitution nor is there anything in the debates which accompanied the drafting and ratification which even suggest such a result…

“It would be manifestly contrary to the objectives of those who created the Constitution, as well as those who were responsible for the Bill of Rights – let alone alien to our entire constitutional history and tradition – to construe Article VI as permitting the United States to exercise power UNDER an international agreement, without observing constitutional prohibitions. (See: Elliot’s Debates 1836 ed. – pgs 500-519).

“In effect, such construction would permit amendment of that document in a manner not sanctioned by Article V. The prohibitions of the Constitution were designed to apply to all branches of the National Government and they cannot be nullified by the Executive or by the Executive and Senate combined.”

      • In effect ratified treaties do become “law of the law” because they impose on congress to create laws that will also comply with the treaty terms.

        • Yes they do become law of the land, however the provision requirements of a treaty cannot/do not supersede the constitution, even with laws crafted by the legislature to comply with said treaty provisions, and to be honest, a legislature could drag its feet in crafting legislation to comply with certain provisions in a treaty or down right refuse to craft legislation.

The treaty process in no way can be used as a constitutional amendment/repeal process or short circuit the convention process, period.

As stated before see USSC decision Reid v. Covert

    • A point missed by the Anti-gun people who claim Americans can not stand against the Federal Government.

      • Not really. The war in Afganistan was over. Until Obiden surrendered to anyone that would accept it.

Hanoi 50yrs later. Demtards have never seen a war where they couldn’t snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

        • Lol. Here is what happens when an intellectually limited person doesn’t have a substantive comeback 👆.

        • The Biden lovers are out in force today, well at least one of them.
What’s that even like? To be so Farm Animal stupid that one thinks Creepy Joe is the best ever.
I really don’t think there is enough pity for someone like that.

      • Trump was working a Treaty, Commissar Cho Bai Din couldn’t “Do That” because you know…. Trump Derangement Syndrome, Exactly Like Yours had Comrade commissar Cho followed, the Plan things may have been different,…. At The least TRUMP didn’t CUT AND RUN WHILE HIDING AT CAMP BOYSCOUT,…. with the Lil Girls !

      • @Dump Trump: You do realize you can’t pin this on Trump. Whatever Trumps plans were, this falls squarely on Biden because he is the one who chose to pull out without any semblance of a plan. Biden had the option to not make the pull out, but chose to do it. Since Biden made the choice, it doesn’t matter what any other president in the past did, planned to do, or even talked about doing, it falls on Biden, whether good or bad. And let me ask you, if this had actually gone well, would Trump have gotten the credit? We all know the answer is no. You would have been so brown nosed on Biden, you’d be smelling crap for the rest of your life. So why don’t you take your liberal, intellectually dishonest, Biden brown nosing self, and go before more people ridicule you for your ignorance.

  6. Anybody who still believes in giving up their guns is an idiot incapable of being rehabilitated. And don’t ever think for a minute that all the Mr. Bigs are going to give up their goon squads.

      • “I will give up my guns. For bigger, better, guns.”

        This……. EXACTLY!

My weekend consisted of two days at the range.
Today was primarily 50BMG and Electric Minigun. Welcome to Texas anti-gunners!

Posted a pic on Walther Forum during 50BMG and Minigun set-up.

Bigger guns everybody. Learn it, know it, LIVE IT!

        • Welcome back, Muppetfart! Good to see you finally got internet service restored to your exceedingly modest hovel!

  7. Neither the UN, EU or the USA are worth paying any attention to anymore. Everybody do whatever the hell you want only to take pause should a CHICOM or Islamofascist agent show up at your door. Right now they’re the only entities worth taking seriously.

    • This^^^^
As a citizen of the USA I say bring it.
The UN and EU does not have an army.
If they were to band together and send their “collective” armies,
then The USA would destroy them.
Do you think for a minute our military would let any “army” invade our country?
Regardless of who is in office, they would have to deal with our military.
On top of that they would have to deal with Citizens of the USA.
It could actually unite our country.

      • Do you think for a minute our military would let any “army” invade our country?

I think our “military” might surprise you, since it now consists of mostly brainwashed idealogs from the “improved” education system and are led by fukbags like Milley who were all that was left after Obummer culled any officers that did not agree with him… Dire times are upon us and the Dark Side is going to take advantage of the fear they’ve instilled over a bullshit “failed” virus released on the world by the fukin Chinese to move as quickly as they can to take complete control… But, the window is closing, they’ve exposed themselves and people are beginning to react, just hope it’s not too late…

      • I’m losing faith in the military. For the past 20 years or so, they’ve been promoting the progressive agenda, putting women into front line positions, encouraging trans to join up, and even promoting that entire Critical Race Theory thing. There’s a lot of rot in the military today, thanks to Democrat agendas to undermine the military.

      • Daniel,

“Do you think for a minute our military would let any ‘army’ invade our country?”

I sure do: all it takes is for our Commander-in-Chief and a semi-supportive Congress to favor the outcome of that “army” invasion.

Don’t believe it? That is EXACTLY what has been happening for the last six months on our nation’s southern border where more than ONE MILLION illegal aliens have streamed into our nation. Not only has the federal government failed to impede that mass of illegal aliens from pouring into our nation–our federal government has actually been helping them by orchestrating free lodging and transportation into our nation’s interior.

  8. “I hope Poland, Hungary, and other awakening nations will follow suit, and that the U.S., which is seemingly going in the opposite direction under the Biden administration, doesn’t discard American rights and freedoms.”

The fraudulent Biden administration may be going in the opposite direction — but that is not the same thing as the USA. They’re not us. We are not them.

    • Rather than accept the fact your preferred candidate lost, your lot has resorted to making conclusory statements that cannot be backed by credible evidence (because none exists). And I thought TDS was bad lol….

      • Why the refusal to even consider election audits, then?

If the process wasn’t fraudulent and no misconduct occurred, there’s nothing to hide. A transparent, bipartisan review of the voting/counting machines/software and ballot chain of custody would’ve done wonders for restoring faith in the system.

Instead, the powers-that-be blocked all attempts to have any kind of audit at all — which says that there is a LOT to be hidden.

  9. And so it begins, Australia now: This is what happens when you surrender your arms.

    NSW Police Force

The NSW Police Force will launch Operation STAY AT HOME from 12.01am Monday 16 August 2021, in a significant boost to public health order enforcement efforts across the state.
The operation will utilise resources from all Police Districts and Police Area Commands under Metropolitan and Regional NSW Field Operations alongside officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, Police Transport Command, Dog and Mounted Unit, and a number of other specialist commands as required.
Significantly, 1400 officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command will be dedicated to both static and mobile COVID-19 compliance operations on the state’s roads.
A further 500 Australian Defence Force troops, in addition to the 300 already deployed, will assist with compliance checks and patrols.
Operation STAY AT HOME will be coordinated from the Police Operations Centre (POC) in Sydney under the command of Acting Assistant Commissioner Andrew Holland.
Minister for Police and Emergency Services David Elliott said the NSW Government was supporting the Commissioner’s call for assistance in the most practical way.
“The Commissioner asked for tighter Public Health Orders and the government agreed, the Commissioner asked for higher fines and the Government agreed, and the Commissioner asked for more ADF personnel and we have an additional 500 highly-trained ADF personnel arriving to assist,” Mr Elliott said.
“We’ve had to tighten the current public health orders because of the minority who exploited them. Enough is enough. If you do it, you will get fined.
“The only way out of this COVID-19 crisis is if we support each other and support the NSW Police-led compliance operation, Operation STAY AT HOME.”
Deputy Commissioner Mal Lanyon, Metropolitan Field Operations, said the operation would see more police on the ground across Greater Sydney, utilising some of the strongest powers ever given to police.
“The level of non-compliance by some members of the community is unacceptable and we will be doubling down with compliance and enforcement to make sure we get ahead of the Delta strain,” Deputy Commissioner Lanyon said.
“It only takes one person to do the wrong thing to facilitate considerable spread of the virus.
“We will be issuing $5000 fines to people and closing any businesses which continue to breach the health orders, and will not apologise for these increased enforcement efforts going forward.”
Deputy Commissioner Mick Willing, Regional NSW Field Operations, said preventing movement to regional areas from Sydney, and between regional areas, would be a key focus of the operation.
“There will be more roadblocks on main arterial roads and backroads from tomorrow, and these operations will continue to expand throughout this week in order to enforce the permit system announced by the NSW Government this morning,” Deputy Commissioner Willing said.
“There will be nowhere to hide if you are doing the wrong thing. If you travel anywhere beyond your LGA at the moment, you are putting everyone else in NSW at considerable risk.
“From the start, this has been about reducing movement across the state and protecting the health and safety of everyone, and this operation significantly strengthens those efforts.”
Anyone who has information regarding individuals or businesses in contravention of a COVID-19-related ministerial direction is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report crime via NSW Police social media pages.

    • The joys of being an essential service worker. I still get to go to work and still get paid. Of course I have my “papers” (government agency ID card and essential service authorization letter), but I haven’t been stopped once in the last 7 weeks.

      • Damn… when I lived in Oz it seemed like I couldn’t go anywhere without getting pulled over to count to three for a Random Breath Test.

  10. I always wondered what it was like to live in the Weimar Republic.
    Now we know.

  11. I do not see a foreign nation trying to disarmnm American citizens working out to well.
I for one would assume We were at War and take appropriate actions.

    • Armed foreign troops on American soil = invading forces = targets. They don’t understand what they are in for.

  12. Biden will likely re-sign this authoritarian UN Treaty in the next few months.

Funny how some people forgot that their “pro-gun” hero Obummer tried to drop that pile of steaming shit on us…. Anyway Braindead can sign all the UN crap he wants it still takes 60 votes in the Senate and a majority in the House and there are enough Democrats opposed this thing to cover for the few RINOs that MIGHT fall for it… Speaking of Steaming Piles, great job in Afghanistan Baindead, maybe should have sent Hunter Braindead over there to direct things, he couldn’t have done any worse… I’m curious why no drone strikes on those convoys of American military vehicles? Seems like it would make the Taliban easily recognizable since they are the only ones using them… And where is that illustrious Afghan army that we spent “trillions” of dollars and 20 years training? Great job… Oh well, at least Hunter can go back to getting that high grade Afghan heroin instead of the Mexican crap laced with fentanyl…

    • And i have no faith that there are enough senators with alegience to our country to defeat this if it came to the senate. We had over a dozen traitors that went along with the fake infrastructure ( socialism) bill.

      • We had over a dozen traitors that went along with the fake infrastructure ( socialism) bill.

Actually it was 19, if you look at the payoffs those RINOs were promsed you’ll understand how easy it is to buy off a politician… Of course NONE of them will ever see any of those promises kept by the “bait and switch” proffessionals that lead the Progressive Left….

  13. And now, look what’s happening in Australia after their latest gun ban and confiscation. Martial law to lock down the population under the guise of preventing the spread of Covid. Australia averages only 1 death per day from Covid, yet the government has sent their military to enforce the lock down and shut down the protests. And Google is blocking news stories about it.

    • They are going door to door to make sure people are staying home as ordered… This is NOT the Australia I found in 1969 and certainly not the Aussie military I fought along side of in Vietnam…

    • What gun ban and confiscation?

This would be all over the local news and I haven’t seen or heard anything about it. Also my email and SMS would be flooded with messages from my firearms clubs and associations and my friends.

      Big time BS.

The gun shops that take online orders are doing a roaring trade in consumables and accessories. People are spending their range fees on getting ready for when we can resume.

      • In 1996, all semi auto long guns were banned and a mandatory buy back was instituted. All other firearms must be registered with the government and a license is required to own a firearm. Proper reason to own a firearm must be shown and it cannot be self defense. Is that about right?

      • gun ban and confiscation have already happened in U.S. history, for example:

in 1775, during a time of civil unrest among the colonies, Massachusetts governor General Thomas Gage ordered British soldiers to confiscate firearms from civilians in the interest of thwarting a rebellion.

In 1861, after rejecting the power of states to peacefully secede from the Union, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Confiscation Acts, thus authorizing federal troops to confiscate firearms from civilians in preparation for the upcoming invasion of the south and the beginning of the U.S. Civil War.

In 1890, during Native American “relocation” effort, U.S. troops disarmed the Lakota people “for their own safety and protection” as they were forcibly moved into their new and unwanted home. To add to the darkness, most of the Lakota tribe was massacred when a deaf Lakota man named Black Coyote refused to surrender his rifle to the federal soldiers. This was known as the massacre at Wounded Knee.

in 1941, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, under the preface of the attack on Pearl Harbor signed one of the most disgraceful acts in American History, rounding up Japanese citizens, confiscating weapons and property and forcing these American citizens into internment camps.

n 2005, during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin declared that the city was under a state of “martial law” while New Orleans Police Superintendent Eddie Compass stated “There’s a martial law declaration in place that gives us legal authority for mandatory evacuations,” Compass said. “No one will be able to be armed. We will take all weapons. Only law enforcement will be allowed to have guns.” – Cops and National Guard units then went door-to-door to follow the orders of the mayor. More than 1,000 firearms were seized, and untold numbers of people, houses, and vehicles were searched in the process (this was stopped by the Louisiana state legislature when they found out about it). Today, the majority of those weapons have never been returned and they have rusted beyond usefulness or salvage.

Gun bans are also common even today in the U.S., for example take a look at California.

These are just a few examples. Buried in various laws in most states and federal law is the power to enact bans and confiscation.

Gun ban and confiscation is around us all the time. You just don’t recognize it. For example, one of the first things police do to a self/home defense person who uses a gun, justified or not, most times is confiscate their gun (sure, the get it back eventually if its a justified shooting).

        • In addition; The act of requiring a permit for purchase or carry is in effect a “defacto” confiscation or ban (depending on how the law is written) because it “legally” forces the person to cede “legal” control over their own property (the firearm) to government authority thus in effect the government has (defacto) “seized” the firearm. Every person with a permit for purchase or carry, in a non-constitutional carry state, has had their firearm “defacto” confiscated or banned.

there are even more examples of confiscation or bans, for example, mandatory, “forced surrender”, or “pressured” (forced surrender and pressure are already being used) gun and magazine buyback are another form of confiscation.

“forced surrender” buy back: A form of judicial imposed penalty for gun involved but not convictable for such charges where the person is forced to surrender their firearm to avoid prosecution and in exchange the “government” (city, county, state, sometimes federal) pays the person some amount for the firearm.

“pressured” buy back: A local or state or federal government enacts programs focused on areas and launch disinformation/information programs designed to make people feel obligated to surrender their firearms. (this one is kind of new, not used too much yet but its coming)

the point is, gun confiscation and bans are around us every day. Our country history is rife with gun confiscation and bans.

      • There are over 15000 registered firearms in my postcode area alone and Sydney is a large city. I would be surprised if the number was less than 200,000 for the Sydney basin.

What happened in the past is the past. They tried to make the process difficult but we bounced back with more people owning more guns than before.

But there are no current bans and confiscations going on. The state and federal governments have more pressing priorities.

  14. Nothing is more important than keeping the Second amendment alive. That is what keeps you free. Now most Americans now see the police if told to, will stand down and do nothing. While you are attacked. And your property is taken from you.

Legalizing drugs does not protect your Liberty. Being sexually liberated does not protect your liberty. Having Arms is what protects your liberty.

  15. When Trump ditched the U.N. treaty there was a White House announcement for it. It was on the Whitehouse web page at https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/president-donald-j-trump-is-defending-our-sovereignty-and-constitutional-rights-from-the-united-nations-arms-trade-treaty/?utm_source=link&utm_medium=header – it has since been removed, presumably, by the Biden administration like they did with some of the other things there from Trump. But, here it is anyway in some high points > https://www.heritage.org/arms-control/commentary/trump-just-ditched-un-arms-treaty-and-he-was-right-do-it

  16. Poland, Hungary, and the Czech republic need to take a page out of England’s book and exit stage left. And Biden, just like Obama, can sign all the treaties he wants, but if it’s not ratified by Congress, it’s just TP.

    • Which I looked up btw. To pass a treaty, the senate needs 2/3rds of its members to vote for the treaty. Not happening anytime soon.
