South Philly Diner Takes On the NRA, Pro-Lifers, and Donald Trump – Would you like a serving of anti-gun agitprop with your omelet, sir? . . .

And inside Morning Glory, the message is very much the same. The specials board doesn’t advertise the frittata of the day. No, the chalked proclamation it bears is: “No more condolences. We need background checks. No more thoughts and prayers. We need assault ban!”

“Everybody who works here is on the same page with this stuff,” my server at Morning Glory told me on Thursday morning, a few minutes after he got a fist-bump from an older, well-dressed African-American man, who said he couldn’t agree more with the restaurant’s position on firearms.

“If we were in Arkansas, we’d probably have no windows by now,” says Morning Glory owner Carol Mickey, who took the restaurant over from her daughter Sam, who died of brain cancer in 2012.

US interest in concealed carry permit training jumps 100 per cent after Parkland: ‘We’ve never seen a spike this big before’ – David Hogg…spreading the gun culture with every media hit . . .

The number of Americans interested in obtaining concealed carry permits to secretly bear arms in public has jumped dramatically since the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February – with some states having seen as much as a 250 per cent increase in training requests for this type of permit.

In the 50 days since the Parkland, Florida shooting, companies and networks of firearm instructors that provide training for the permits in dozens of states have seen enquiries spike. One company said it had even received more requests for training than after the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

“There’s been a lot of shootings, unfortunately, in this country, but we’ve never seen a spike this big before, even with Newtown,” Chris Schultrop, the CEO and co-founder of Minnesota-based concealed permit training network National Carry Academy (NCA), which works across 27 states, told The Independent.

Volunteer Church Member Stops Attacker in Church Gunfight – Wait. We thought good guys with guns stopping bad guys with guns was just a delusional fantasy . . .

A man exchanged gunfire with an armed robber Wednesday evening inside a West Garfield Park neighborhood church, leaving both men wounded.

A 57-year-old man was sitting in a the church at 8:09 p.m. in the 4400 block of West Maypole when a 27-year-old man walked in and announced a robbery, according to Chicago Police.

The two men then started shooting at each other, police said. The older man was struck in the left arm and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition. The robber was shot multiple times in the chest and was in critical condition at Stroger Hospital.

Gun shop owner remembers selling YouTube shooter a firearm – It can be hard to spot the crazy ones . . .

Three months before opening fire at the YouTube campus, Nasim Aghdam strolled into a San Diego-area gun shop and bought a 9mm Smith & Wesson — the same model the store had featured in a “12 Guns of Christmas” sale in October, according to a report.

Aghdam, who shot three YouTube employees and killed herself Tuesday, bought the gun from The Gun Range on Jan. 2 and picked it up after a mandatory 10-day waiting period, a source told the Mercury News.

She walked out with the pistol on Jan. 16, the same day YouTube announced a larger revenue crackdown on content creators like her.

“It’s not like she stood out,” Manny Mendoza, the store range master and a retired law enforcement officer, told the newspaper. “I wish we could look into someone’s soul. It’s as tragic as can be.”

Georgia sheriff warns visitors: If you kill our citizens, they might kill you back – Kill you back?

Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley has a message for visitors: the citizens are armed, and if you commit murder in his county, well, the citizens might just kill you back themselves.

Jolley posted a sign outside his department warning visitors that Harris County residents have concealed weapons – and would use them. “If you kill someone, we might kill you back,” the sign reads. “We have ONE jail and 356 cemeteries. Enjoy your stay!”
Jolley said he changes the signs outside his office every seven or eight months, and pays for them himself.

  1. An addition for the Digest :

“UT Professor Threatened By Armed Antifa Group Found Dead”

“The actions to come in the following year will draw clear lines in the sand between revolutionaries and counterrevolutionaries. We will make no apologies for the necessary violence of our struggle and will spare no sacrifice for the battles to come because we are revolutionaries committed to the overthrow of capitalism and the establishment of a classless society. We live for the people, we fight for the people, and we die for the people. This is what it means to be a revolutionary and this is what we uphold from this point until the final dying breath of capitalism.”

Pleasant folks there, don’t you think?

    • And they will kill the very same people for not having the correct ideological stance.

    • Given the history of Marxist insurgencies, I’m still shocked that every member of ANTIFA and their associated groups hasn’t been rounded up and shot for the benefit of the species.

      • pwrsrg They are left alone by the deep state in D C [ district of criminals ]. They are one of many groups doing their work for them.

      • antifa ARE the marxist/facists (same card/2% difference so don’t play semantics with me)

    • “We live for the people, we fight for the people, we die for the people.”

Who am I to deny someone their special purpose? 😃

      • Yeah, sounds like there’s 72 Virginians mixed in there somewhere, doesn’t it? I mean, they are DETERMINED to die?

    • 3 words: Just Bring It!

I’m 31 years old, swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution once, and I’m a peace with where I am in life. You wanna kill me bring it on just remember 2 things. One, I’m armed too and two, I WILL SHOOT BACK. So you may wanna bring a medkit or two you’ll need them.

I’m not as good as I once was but I’m as good once as I ever was.

    • Better question is… who is he, and why should I care?

But me thinks that it’s far more likely that commies like him will find themselves lined up against a wall and put out of their misery.

      • He’s a former sports writer for the NY Post. He covered the NFL for the paper until he got shitcanned last year for a tweet where he compared Trump’s election to Pearl Harbor.

Last I saw he was suing the paper under an NY labor law.

  2. I think someone in the shop is having a “Morning Glory” about gun control.

Background checks are not like “Minority Report”. They only say what someone has done and not what they will do.

You can see the seething hate from the antis. Banning guns is the start. The final solution is plainly obvious.

    • “Background checks are not like “Minority Report”. They only say what someone has done and not what they will do.”

In a kinda way, they can. Let me explain –

They don’t really want background checks. That is a lie. Nearly every single one of these mass shooters *passed* the background check with flying colors.

What they *actually* want it *total* gun registration.

With that tool, they can take every gun.

I am focusing my personal 2A activism on fighting gun registration…

        • That is a popular option. Unfortunately, that severely restricts what you can do with that gun in the future, since eventually being caught with a gun not on the list will likely guarantee that person prison time.

The only way the 2A can be guaranteed is for that ‘list’ to never be generated in the first place.

The way I see it, the people should never be required to prove they legally bear arms in their possession (with the exception of guns reported stolen), the onus should be 100 percent on the law cracking down on those caught with a firearm while being a prohibited person suffering severe consequences.

Leave the lawful alone, focus on the prohibited persons so they will think twice about even picking one up in the first place…

          • Those guns would be reserved for shooting government agents when the confiscations eventually start, so getting caught with them would be the least of the buyers’/lake bottoms’ worries.

      • Cause the registration of all firearms on some pretext, with the view of confiscating them and leaving the population defenseless.

        V. I. Lenin

What do we think these people read ?

    • Their final solution is the final solution.

(For those who don’t know what I am referring, look up the “final solution” from WWII.)

  3. “If we were in Arkansas, we’d probably have no windows by now,”

As Curley said to Mitch in City Slickers when Mitch asked if Curley had killed anyone today; “It’s early”.

  4. That Bart Hubbich character makes an interesting example….

There is this guy at work who points out every extreme example of a ‘right-wing-weirdo’ as if they represent the entire population of people to the right of himself politically. Like someone saying that Hogg should be hurt in some violent way somehow means *all*I the Republicans are to blame and we are all equally guilty.

Then something like Hubbich shows up and I politely ask my coworker why he supports such violent behavior to which he replies ‘he doesn’t speak for me.’

If I am feeling snarky I will point out that if it wasn’t for the double-standard he wouldn’t have any standards at all. Most of the time I just shake my head and wonder how he made it this far in life without getting fatally hurt.

    • isn’t it a pity stupidity is not painful and fatal more often? Your co worker reminds me why there are warnings on everything… it’s because yes somewhere out in the wilds there is someone dumb enough to have done the exact thing that the warning specifies you not do.

SIDE NOTE: I wonder when they’re going to put a warning on condoms that states “DO NOT SNORT THIS OBJECT. PUT IT ON YOUR LOVE MUSCLE AND INSERT BOTH INTO YOUR PARTNER OR PARTNERS LOVE TUNNEL(S).

      • Reminiscent of back in the day, “sold for the prevention of disease only”. Since everything remotely contraceptive was illegal. Really. Illegal. Just imagine. That was religious nutcakes at work.

        • yeah kinda sorta. Still blows my mind that we actually need a warning on a clothing iron that begs the user to remove clothing before ironing. I can understand the warnings on small toys and other objects that look like they may be edible saying hey don’t eat this and don’t let your kids eat this, but I think we are at the point where people are just daring Darwin to step in and fvck them up.

        • blah blah blah. We had vast open spaces and needed people. Now the progs just import them ready to vote.

  5. Gee my late sainted mother-in-law had a church on Cermak not far from West Maypole. She carried a shiny 38. So much for pacifist black Christian ministers…that girly Hoggboy is clueless about the fire he lit. Yeah “he” does remind one of that Lanzatard.

  6. I think that some day, not far removed from now, someone will walk into the Morning Glory and order a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich with a side order of “hand over all your money.”

  7. Bart must not be too bright, how are the unarmed going to hang the armed without getting shot dead?

  8. I’ve been drinking cheap vodka all night n my girlfiend still looks like a buzzard and her vagina still smells like a walrus? More Vodka

  9. Meanwhile, in California, where the fertile soil and moderate weather seem to give root to the most harebrained ideas imaginable, a legislator today offered a bill to ban the internet purchase of an unidentified group of firearms “parts” needed to “complete a functioning firearm,” clearly intending the law to apply to AR parts, but specifically including barrels and, for no apparent reason, revolver speed loaders. To buy such parts, one would have to have the part shipped to an FFL, and the buyer would have to pass a “background check” in order to pick it up. Presumably, the background check would be the same as is required to buy ammo, which is not a DOJ or NICS check, but merely a check to make sure the person does not appear on the list of armed prohibited persons (APPS).

  10. Headline Never to Be Seen in California: You Tube Shooter Proves That California’s 10-day wait is Ineffective in Preventing Gun Violence.

  11. ““It’s not like she stood out,” Manny Mendoza, the store range master and a retired law enforcement officer, told the newspaper…”

I’m not saying that this person should have been denied a gun based on looks alone but saying Nasim Aghdam didn’t “stand out”? Come on.

Good job on that waiting period, though, maybe make it 15 days- I’m sure THAT’LL work!

  12. “The older man was struck in the left arm … The robber was shot multiple times in the chest…”

Now that is what I call excellent shooting by the defender!

“Georgia sheriff warns visitors: If you kill our citizens, they might kill you back.”

If that’s what the sign actually said it would be a great example of something Yogi Berra might have said.
