Dana Loesch is a well-known NRA commentator.

Twitter is an enormous platform with an even larger membership. They reported 336 million active users worldwide on a monthly basis during the first quarter of 2018 and approximately 6,000 tweets go out every second of every day for a grand total of 350,000 tweets per minute. With that much activity there are bound to be people behaving badly, so Twitter came up with rules of use.

The following is an excerpt from The Twitter Rules which can be viewed here.

You may not make specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm, death, or disease of an individual or group of people. (The Twitter Rules: Violence and Physical Harm, Violence)

But the rules apparently don’t apply to men like Milan Legius.

On August 26, 2018 at 6:32 PM a user whose Twitter handle is @MilanLegius took to Twitter to let NRA commentator Dana Loesch know what he thinks of her. Rather than addressing disagreements in politics or gun ownership, though, Legius took the fight to Loesch’s children:

The only way these people learn is if it affects them directly. So if Dana Loesch has to have her children murdered before she’ll understand, I guess that’s what needs to happen.

Dana’s husband, Chris Loesch, reported the threat to Twitter and received the following response:

Thank you for your recent report. We have reviewed your report carefully and found that there was no violation of the Twitter Rules against abusive behavior.

There are a number of factors we take into consideration when deciding whether to take action on content.

Context Matters.

There was a link to The Twitter Rules in Twitter’s reply to Chris and the last words you can see in the screenshot are “context matters.” If you take a look at The Twitter Rules you find this under “context matters…”:

The behavior is newsworthy and in the legitimate public interest.

The threat by Legius was reported not only by Chris but by dozens, if not hundreds of Twitter users. Even users who disagree with Dana on 2A topics rallied, stating the behavior was inappropriate no matter what. But apparently Twitter isn’t bothered by Legius’ blatant threats against innocent minors.

This incident is far from unique. Other recent threatening and hateful tweets directed to Loesch include the following:

You should go hunting with Dick Cheney. (from Jennifer @inkcurable)

Listen, you f**king waste product. I pray you never give birth. You’re a stain on humanity. My guess is you’ll take your dying breath in prison. I can’t wait. That’s all. (from Melissa Falk @FeedingOffRails)

Social media is no longer a social platform. It is no longer a place to share vacation pictures and reunite old college friends. It’s a place to harass, insult, and threaten anyone who disagrees with you. If you are a member of the firearms industry, threats become part and parcel of the job. In Dana’s case those threats are frequently graphic and aimed at her family. I ask you this: what kind of monster threatens children?

Obviously I can’t speak for Dana, but I will say this. If you’d like to threaten me, knock yourself out. I’ll handle it. But my family is off limits. My child is beyond off limits.

We have devolved into a society where this behavior isn’t just permitted it’s encouraged. Don’t you dare be a conservative, let alone a gun owner! How dare you even consider exercising your Second Amendment rights.

Dana Loesch is a bona fide badass. Whatever your feelings of her career choices and trajectory – which she worked her ass off for, by the way – you, as a gun owner, should stand with her on matters such as these. No question. Make your voices heard in support of Dana and against people like Milan Legius. You can find Dana on Twitter @DLoesch.

UPDATE: Twitter has announced they have re-reviewed the complaints about Milan Legius’ post threatening Dana’s children. They have now reversed their decision, sending Chris the following message:

We have re-reviewed the account you reported and have locked it because we found it to be in violation of the Twitter Rules.

If the account owner complies with our requested actions and stated policies, the account will be unlocked.

No mention what those “requested actions” might be.

  1. Everybody’s a Billy Badass when they’re safely behind their keyboard. Force them to go toe to toe with someone and defend their position with evidence and they’ll crumble like my 6th grade Home Ec chocolate chip cookies.

    • Loesch’s has used facts and reason over and over to make the gun grabbers look like compete fools, which is why they are simply left with nothing better than threatening her children.

Loesch is not a criminal, so the data shows that because of her gun ownership her kids and household are abut 30% safer than homes with no guns including “Milan legius” home.
In fact Milan ought to be thanking her for reducing crime.

        • LOL, “HAND CANNON” Looks like a Ruger 22LR to me…..
IF Push came to Shove, I’d stand and Fight with Her and Family any day of the week!

        • Close, I’m pretty sure it’s a Volquartsen Scorpion. Fantastic target pistol, and not cheap, even before all the customization hers has gone through.

          • Thanx. I checked it out. Massive and expensive for just being a 22. I changed my mind. I would prefer to stick with my S&W M&P 45. I would also stand beside her if needed.

        • …lauded by the portrayal of you in a mediocre musical by a cast of black actors whose rabid fanbase likes to attack Ruby Rose for not being lesbian enough or jewish enough to play a jewish, lesbian, incarnation of Batwoman on TV?

    • Even simpler, remove the anonymity of the internet. Make people log in as themselves and so much of this will go away. People will say the most insane terrible things, when they think nobody knows who they are. Make them use their full name from the city they live in. Things will calm way down.

  2. A bunch of basement dwelling keyboard commandos who would undoubtedly wet themselves if confronted by one of the armed subjects of their ire and threats. Unfortunately, there are a few out there like the Congressional baseball game attacker who are willing and able to carry out their threats. Head on a swivel, check six, and keep your powder dry.

  3. This needs a report to the FBI and let Twitter spend time answering the warrants. Not as strong as Secret Service for an elected official, but someone needs a visit from men in bad suits.

    • “This needs a report to the FBI and let Twitter spend time answering the warrants.”

Twitter will just consider the visit from the FBI to be “the cost of doing business”.

No, I’d rather the FBI have a nice chat with the POS that made that threat.

Using the internet through Twitter to make a threat is a federal crime…

      • Good plan! And don’t forget to interview all of his neighbors, letting drop that the investigation is about him threatening to murder children. So they could adequately support him, of course.

  4. I think anyone that tries to harm Dana’s children will get perforated more than once. People now days are really scumbags, well some are and they are generally the bottom feeders that run in mobs to be brave.

  5. Hmmm…herr Trump gets threatened on a daily basis. What happens? Generally NOTHING. Same here. Get the bastards I say.

  6. So if the piece of shit makes good on a threat and Dana pops him I guess that’s ok with the Twitter crowd.

    After.all context matters.

  7. Last time I checked Hamas has a twitter account. I guess calling for Holocaust II isn’t up at the Alex Jones crazy level

  8. I’ve been threatened a few times. Some made me laugh. Others made me yawn. None intimidated me.

    Then again, I’m heavily armed.

  9. .those who threaten others with grievous bodily harm or death may not like the response and should consider that
.a lot of things can happen to dog s**t

  10. Maybe it’s just harmless keyboard antics by sad little people but I think there should be a law that threats over the internet can be treated like threats made in person. You threaten to murder some ones children on line, your ass goes to jail. Period end of statement.

The same should be done with all these little shit bag kids bullying one anouther on line. Want to harass someone on line, boom harassment charges. I bet a lot of this school shooting crap would stop.

Am I the only one that sees this?

    • I am absolutely on board with that. Long experience has shown me how difficult it is to get LE involved in social media threats. Almost impossible. We definitely need better laws relating to the internet.

    • I’m going to respectfully disagree.
I’ve said it before, that the reason for school shootings is social media. When you casually give out all your information online, or even inadvertently mention bits and pieces over time, you can be tracked down. A picture here, a school name there, people can track you down. Kids are even worse with keeping information private, but are also incredibly mean.

Everyone here remembers their school years. Everyone had friends, enemies, kids would beat each other up, make fun of each other, it was brutal. Some kids never fit in, and it didn’t matter what they did, they never made the right friends. The were stuck at the bottom of the social hierarchy. However, even they might have had some friends, or if not, they could still go home to loving parents. School could be left behind in their backpack. All the name calling, all the stress, it could be left at thedoor.

      Then came social media.

Now they can’t escape 5hetorment. B7llies cons5antly h9und them onlin3 and harass hem no màtterwhà5 5hey do. Even at home, they are unable to get away from the name calling, thanks to social media.

And I think I’m going to have to leave my response here, bas my phone is being really horrible.

    • What you describe is certainly not treating them the same as if a threat was delivered in person. When my kids were young, if you had walked up to me and said you were going to murder my children, I would have shot you dead on the spot, not had you arrested. That would not be a rational response to an online threat.

  11. Well, I guess this is yet another reason why I’ll never go on Twitter. However, even if I did, I’d just laugh. First, I don’t give out my information or address beyond that I’m somewhere in Arizona. Maybe the city, if I feel like it. Second, I’d just remind the person threatening me that I am a gun owner. This means that they are highly unlikely to survive any hostile encounter with me if they somehow had hacking powers that rivalled Anonymous and were able to get my address.

I can see how some people could be threatened by these little SJWs, but it also goes to show that you shouldn’t give out all your information online. Also, this is why we have guns! If someone threatens us, we have the ability to respond with deadly force. It may or may not be legal, but I guarantee the thought of meeting their Maker should be enough to make them reconsider their idiocy.

  12. I’m of the opinion that the vast majority of “threats” are meaningless cries for attention. Still, calling for someone’s children to be murdered should have severe consequences- like a tire iron applied to the ear, 6-8x.
To be clear, I’m not saying I’m going to do that, just that is should happen. I think the problem would correct itself.

  13. Think about this for a second – these are threats from low energy beta male soyboys who don’t own guns.

So they’re not exactly threats, are they?

      • Nice appeal to emotion, but your kids are more likely to be killed by you in a car than anyone who posts this crap online.

You can build a castle and lock them in a tower, but other than that you can’t be 100% sure of anything.

        • So no one should worry about threats posted online and it shouldn’t be a crime because virtually nothing ever comes of it. Got it…

  14. “If you’d like to threaten me, knock yourself out. I’ll handle it. But my family is off limits. My child is beyond off limits.”

So… what does off-limits mean? What are you going to do to stop them?

I get the sense that the future is just people hurling impotent threats at each other over the internet forever.

Block, move on, is the best way to deal with this crap.

  15. I guess twitter just realizes that no one would be stupid enough to actually carry through with a threat on a heavily armed well trained freedom loving american

  16. its an easy fix guys. delete all your social media accounts. worked for me. my life is so much better without all that bullshit.

  17. She would be better as a porn actress because logical thinking is not her forte so maybe she could use her mouth for a sloppy fellatio. It is of people like her that we are considered GUN NUTS instead of GUN SPORTS ENTHUSIASTS.

  18. Their threats are pathetic. Bad ass antifa turds who have yet to see what real resistance looks like. They might regret stirring up the hornets nest.

  19. Have these chickenshit cowards tow the line and face you with a gun and they will run for the hills….. They re worthless pieces of dog feces….

  20. Dana should sue Twitter regarding their failure to respond to an implicit threat via their medium IN VIOLATION OF THEIR TOS. They are failing to address it and are quite selective in their enforcement. That makes them responsible.
